Hi, I'm Jess. I am 22 and I live in Ohio. I've been cooking since I was 9 and I don't really follow a hole lot of recipes anymore. Mostly I cook by feel and I like that. I want to learn some new tricks though and recipes are great for getting new ideas. Especially since my man is a picky picky person with a health obsession.

Mostly I cook traditional foods from the more coastal and central regions of Italy even though my family is from closer to Switzerland. So I like using a lot of fishes, lean meats, fresh vegetables and herbal and light creame sauces.

HEllo, I'm 19 (and male) living in Spoakne area. I want to become a professional chef someday, I'm more interested in breads and cakes (especially over the top crazy artsy cakes), but am pretty well rounded. Cooking can be a good stress reliever for me and I enjoy experimenting.

I find that culinary arts is like a mixtrue of science and art in many ways and utilizes almost all the senses at once.

I'm Kuru, I'm a mod here on another account.
I hate onions.
Love broccoli.
I like mixing food of different ethnicities.
I like making breakfast foods best, but I'm pretty nochturnal.
Like, for instance... it's six o'clock and I just woke up.
I'm seventeen, I live in Idaho, (an hour from spokane)
I wear skirts, and listen to loud music.
I've been in more than my share of trouble in life, and my parents hate me.
At the age of fourteen I was a heroin addict, but I overcame that.
I was in a band before they all mutinied on me because I refuse to scream the lyrics I write. I'm working on a book called "It's better than a shotgun blast to the face: The cynic's guide to positive thinking"
I have a shitty job, and I'm a second year college student.
I try to help as many people as I can, and I have major dreams for my life, that will probably be cut short in a tragic street-racing accident.
I also hope to be more active in the guild...

Hi, just joined the Guild. Been on Gaia about 6 weeks now. It's groovy. blaugh

I'm an OBG (oldie but goodie), and have other OBG friends here... mostly ones I dragged along with me. We love it!

I've done a lot of cooking, both experimental and strictly to the recipe. The experiments sometimes turn out good. LOL

I have some recipes handed down 4 generations in my family, mostly old fashioned cooking, with a dab of French. I'll be posting them soon.

I was a vegetarian for a few years, but blew myself away on that. Teehee.

I live on a horse farm (rent, don't own it), have an old retired race horse (had her 16 years now, she was a great ride when younger) and a young cat who thinks he rules. Hell, he does.

I don't have a decent kitchen where I am now... I live in the bunkhouse (all to myself) and there is no stove. I use a two-burner hot plate thing, a toaster oven and a microwave. Kinda limits what you can do. But I have a bar-b-q outside that I roast chickens in, and of course the odd pork chop or steak.

Well, by golly, that's enough from me! Glad to meet you all. smile

Hello. My name is Bakaro, and I like to cook, draw, and I also love dogs. I'm 17, and I was born in Argentina, (although my parents are from Italy o_o; ) and I've lived in the US since I was almost 10. But, don't worry, my knowledge in English is pretty comprehensive. (But I stink at writing essays :s)

I actually started cooking recently (I think almost a year), I've helped my mother cook since I was a kid, but haven't really cooked frequently (now I do, though). I like Italian and French food, and I work with pasta a lot. My favorite dish to make is the Osso Buco, and I don't know why.

I want to be able to cook any kind of food (Italian, French, Japanese, German, w/e), and I'm really interested in healthy meals. I'm also very, VERY interested in different ways of making sauces. I hope to be a great chef one day, as I'm really into culinary arts. I plan on entering ASU to start out and move on to the Culinary Arts Institute*.

((*: I'm actually not exactly sure if I want to go straight to the Institute or start out myself in the State University))

Thank you very much for accepting me into the guild, and I hope to find very interesting ways to prepare food. 3nodding

Hello all. You can call me Washi. I'm in my 30s, married, and I live in Texas (U.S.).

I only really learned to cook this year. Up till then I could boil water and follow directions on a box or bag, but not make stuff from scratch; except for baking, which I only did occassionally. But I wanted to be able to eat healthier stuff, plus cooking from scratch tends to be cheaper. And I was bored with the same old food day in and out. So I started watching the Food network and experimenting. Now I am proud to say that I can throw together a dinner without consulting a cookbook and anxiously measuring each ingredient.

Lately I've been concentrating on Asian food. I love making onigiri and stir fry. I am in love with Bento boxes, and I've promised myself that I would get one for packing lunches in when I get a job (in search of one now).

I'm part Slovak, and have a couple of recipes from that side of the family, but I have never made them myself. I'd like to learn more about some of the dishes my Grandma used to make, but a lot of them lean on cabbage or saurkraut, which my hubby can't eat. *shrug* And some of them aren't really healthy or appealling to me anymore, unfortunatly.

Hello, I am Sarah and I am studying culinary arts in college. I am 23 years old.

I do mostly baking. Its my calling and what I will major in. I intend to open a bakery some day. But for now I watch Food TV, study in school and bake at home for practice and work out ways to get better at my recipies and what I do.

My name is Danielle. I've only discovered a passion for cooking about a year and a half ago. Before I could barely make mac and cheese out of a box. I'd always burn everything and never really liked to cook. Then I got in a car accident and was out of work and stuck at home for 9 months. During the first month when I was couldn't really move, I watched Food Network all the time. The food they made on all the shows looked so good, I wanted to learn how to make it myself. So I started...and now I'm cooking everyday and completely love it.

I love making up new recipes...I'll be like, "What can I do to this potato that I haven't seen before?" It's a great way to be creative. I've got a soft spot for making holiday themed food (think Vampire face cupcakes and marshmellow mummies). I would love to learn how to decorate cakes. I'm currently looking into different culinary schools in my area.

So yeah...that's me. smile

Hi. Y'all can call me Jestina. I tend to take an experimental approach to cooking, even baking! I can't stand to use a cookbook recipe unmodified. I am ridiculously attached to and protective of my cast iron skillet, my enormous ceramic bread bowl (the one my mom taught me to bake bread in when I was three...), my knife (anyone who puts it in the dishwasher GETS STABBED WITH IT), my pressure cooker (it scares my roommate), and my mezzaluna (best herb-chopping tool EVER).
I've been vegetarian for years, and was vegan for a few of them. I still don't eat dairy (or meat, though that might be changing soon, I dunno), but I do eat eggs. I have a boyfriend who's allergic to wheat (and a few other friends who are allergic to wheat too), which makes shared meals an interesting challenge.

Hello. My name is Sam, and I'm twenty years old. I moved out about six months ago, and quite frankly, my fiancee and I've gotten sick of my limited repitoire of meals. I'm also interested in learning more healthy dishes, as my family wasn never really concerned with health.
