Mozelle was thinking practically the same thoughts as the one beside her. Kapu had never really liked other males around her, not even his own brother Zing. They scuffled often because Zing's position left him close to her. He was beta, she was alpha. Betas took orders from alphas. She shook her head, now finding her mate's ways to be a little like nonsense. What was he afraid of? If he guarded her so, then he must have been afraid of her running off or of another male winning her over, right?

She sighed. Now that she thought of it that way, she found herself not so much in love with Kapu. He hadn't trusted her. He had been kind and caring but untrusting at the same time. Whenever other males were around, he'd snarl them into submission so that they wouldn't think of taking her. But she wouldn't have mated with anyone but him. Wolves were mates for life, or at least she believed that.

"He won't chase you," she finally spoke, coming out of her troubled thoughts. "If he does, he'll find himself being chased as well." Violet eyes were stern as the female looked out at the horizon. Kapu wouldn't bully anyone around here, she would make sure of that.

But she suddenly relaxed with the coming sunrise. Her eyes caught the same as his did as the light slowly crept over the horizon. Mo nearly held her breath as Gareth spoke out and the new day seemed to be nearing. Ears flicked slightly as she nodded in agreement. So neither of them had ever really seen the sun rise to greet the new day. She was exhilerated to be sharing this with him.

"It's absolutely beautiful..." she whispered as she took a step forward. The sun was now in view, and not just its rays. The tip peered up over the edge and seemed to be playing a game of Peek-a-Boo. Her tail wagged as she smiled and howled a little.

It was amazing how much she had missed out on when she had been so absorbed in running her and Kapu's pack.

"The Northern Lights," the female agreed, nodding her head slightly as all thoughts of Kapu vanished from her mind. She wasn't quite sure if she and Gareth were talking about the same lights, but she figured it didn't hurt to at least throw it out there. If they weren't talking about the same thing, then that didn't really matter. It's not like it mattered, anyways.

But where she had come from, there had been lights almost every night that glowed in the sky. They had been natural and part of every day, so she hadn't been too worried about them. Yet when she came here and found there were no sky lights, Mo figured it must have been a regional thing.

"But, I agree. Not as bright or nearly as brilliant as this."

And finally, the sun reached aboved the horizon, showing it's full, round self to the world. Or at least this portion of it. It had seemed like she had waited forever, but she was delighted to have actually watched a sunrise, not just worked all the way through.

Her tail wagged back and forth quickly and accidentally brushed Gareth's in her excitement. Mozelle didn't mind, however, and went straight into bouncing about. For some reason, she found her mind cleared and her heart soaring.

"Thanks, Gareth," she whispered, nudging his neck slightly after she had calmed down. If it hadn't been for him, she probably wouldn't have been in that spot at the moment.

Mozelle blinked at the male, her attention now on him since the sunrise had already commensed. His words hadn't quite registered in her mind at first, and she wondered if perhaps she was losing it.

"The elders had named it that, I think. Though I think I'm the only one that remembers the name now. Old ways die with the old ones in those lands, it seems. Sad, really," she sighed, lowering her head and shaking it slightly. Silver had died long ago, and she had been the sweetest of all the old wolves. Why she had ever mated with that rangy Raw Bones the spotted female would never quite understand. And it seemed that he had never really cared about her in the first place.

Thinking nasty thoughts now, she attempted to find a better subject. And then Gareth spoke again, giving her relief at having something to focus on rather than that b*****d of a brute Raw Bones.

"We are equal, I think." A random pause. The reason why they were equal she wasn't quite aware of. But then she moved on, finding herself thinking too much now. "We will wait it out," she whispered, purposely using the word 'we' and peering back at the ocean. Like the brown male, she found herself drawn to it. But why? It was just water.

"Whatever happens, we will have each other, yes?"

Mozelle merely smiled and licked the top of his head when he rested it against her shoulder. No longer did her heart flutter randomly nor did she ever freak out at the fact that they were so close. It was natural now. They were simply two close friends. Anyone who thought otherwise might as well have been assuming.

Staying silent still, her thoughts roamed about practically the same thoughts as Gareth's. What had made him the way he was? No wolf was born submissive and condescending; they were made that way by others. So who had dared to reform this kind and gentle beast? It didn't sound right in the female's head, and she slowly narrowed her eyes.

But then he spoke and she was forced to bring herself away from her dangerous mind and into the real world. Equal was fine with him. That was good. She wasn't about ready to argue with him or anything, not that she really thought it necessary.

Smiling still, Mo glanced over at the male. "And I will wait with you."

Mozelle blinked at the sun, now finding its light a bit too much for her fragile eyes. So she turned away, showing her rump to the sun instead of her face. Her tail continued to wag, though, as she watched Gareth. There was something about him that set him apart from the others, and not just the fact that he had torn ears...

They would be fine, her mind suddenly blurted. Ame was kind enough, and she knew that Phib most likely wouldn't harm the pair. Before the brown male had awoken that early morning, Mo had had the chance to talk with the strange seer. And during that small conversation she had learned that Phib wasn't one to really fight, unless he absolutely had to. This assured her, and so allowed her to relax.

But then she chuckled slightly and settled herself down in the sand when Gareth mentioned that he couldn't remember the last they ate.

"Well, I don't know about you, but I don't think I've eaten in a few days. Perhaps a hunt?" Yes, a hunt. That would definitely take their minds off of things. Certainly, certainly.

Getting up to her paws again, the spotted female lowered her upper torso towards the ground and stretched out her forelegs, allowing her toes to flex and dig into the soft ground. After she had finished, she rose back up to a normal standing position.

"What do you think the lands have around here?" she asked, her voice nearly a whisper. Perhaps deer? Maybe caribou? The thought of perhaps caribou excited her, though a moment later she was let down. Didn't those large beasts roam only in the snowiest of places? She couldn't be sure...

"No, no, certainly there is more than fish here. Otherwise, there would be no pack," she murmured, thinking quite logically now that her mind was set on the hunt. It had always been that way. Whenever she needed a distraction, she hunted. It had always managed to allow her mind to stray away from sensitive topics, for it forced her to be on her toes and focused on what was ahead of her instead of the things that were troubling her.

Nodding slightly, she agreed with him. There had to be something around here if there were to actually be as many wolves as the wind let on. "Yes, we will definitely be able to find something. We just need to watch out for other wolves. They might not know of our coming quite yet, and so might see us as a threat." Though perhaps not. The scent of Phib lingered on and in Gareth's own scent, and Ame was all over her own, Mozelle having conversed with the female for a while that same morning.

But, no matter. Shaking her head and ruff, the female then turned to look at the one beside her. He was close, and for some reason she felt her tail wag gently. "Shall we be off? We can discuss tactics and whatnot while on the move. Always faster that way, I think, when a plan has not already been set in the mind."

And with that, she trodded softly away from the beach, knowing very well, though she wondered, that Gareth would follow.
