Zayne nodded at Aislinn as she got up, then conjured up a warm blanket. As she was about to leave, he handed it to her, half-grinning, before going and reclaiming his seat. It was the least he could do for the girl, she seemed so miserable. But, if she had companions, he wasn't going to keep her an uneccesary amount of time.
Turning to the girl who had introduced herself as Kaede, the sorceror grinned, and showed her the ring he had acquired upon his promotion. Just three more years, and he would be a free man.
"Got promoted today....Soon, I'll be able to use sorcery more for my own ends, and the like...And I'll be a full fledged sorceror. It'll give me more of a chance to practicing Enchanting..."

{{You guys can follow me... that would be fun. And cool. You'd get to meet Osyth and Kenaz! ^^ Knowing my characters, the outcome of them coming after her would probably be really funny, especially if Osyth found them first. ;D}}
Aislinn grinned and caught the blanket she'd been tossed before proceeding out the door. They could wrap Osyth in it, and Kenaz could carry her; he was big enough for that.
She skipped down the street, letting the light rain fall on her face and laughing. Now that she had food and drink in her stomach, she didn't mind nearly so much. Oh, me and my changeable moods! {{They are. Very. It scares even me sometimes.}}
The healer sold her some bandages without too much trouble, so she took some extra; with Osyth around, they were going to need them. As she passed the tavern on her way back out of the town, she gave a half-glance back; it would be nice to have someone cheerful along, if only to stop her from having her normal mood swings into grumpiness. Kenaz was a sweet guy, but much too serious, and Osyth was too depressed to cheer anyone up, least of all herself. Ah, well. Too late now.

((ack i'm so sorry you guys! end of quarter means too much hoemwork.... xp ))
"That must be thrilling, to be able to practice magic more freely. I can do that with my mage powers...but i can only hope that one day i will be able to do that with potions!" Kaede laughed. She took a long swig of her ale and looked up, thoughtfully.
"Should we follow her? It might be a bit fun, now that i think about it. And maybe i can get more potions experience on a small quest. My potions master wont be back for months...." Kaede glanced at Zayne, mischief and excitement in her eyes. She downed her ale and stood up expectantly.

Zayne looked up at the girl, wide-eyed. He would normally never dream of following someone. However, it was a city, and things could happen to girls on their own....Perhaps it would be best to keep a watch out for her, just until she met up with her friends.
The sorceror got up, and paid the barkeep, before throwing his cloak over his shoulders. He gave the girl a slight smile.
"I do hope she won't be upset at us for this...I'd feel awful..."

{{Hahaha, stuff happen to Aislinn. More like stuff happen to the people who try to make stuff happen to Aislinn. ^^
This one's a bit long. Okay, it's a lot long. =D }}
Aislinn hurried down the street and out through the gate of the town. Kenaz was waiting with Osyth not too far from here... where was he? She scanned the terrain, which was rather odd and interesting; there were small hills, and off to her right, a sheer drop off of a cliff, all the way down to the ocean. The port was around the east side of the city, where there was a bay; out of sight from here.
She caught a flash of blue and copper, and glaned over to her left. Kenaz. She hurried towards him, now a little worried about Osyth; Kenaz looked to be struggling with her.
"Aislinn, get over here! You're the only one who can talk some sense into her!"
Aislinn broke out into a full scale run and came to an abrupt stop beside Kenaz, her longtime friend and traveling companion. He was tall, about 6' 1", and very well muscled from flying; he was half-Gryphon, and had blue and copper Gryphon's wings as well as their power: no one, including himself, could lie around him. His skin was darker than her pale tint, with a bronze sheen. He was wearing a blue tunic, really just a peice of cloth with a hole for his head, tied at the waist with a black cord; and a pair of loose black pants with an ankle-tight cuff. His hair was black and reached to his shoulders, falling fine and straight. He had one long knife scar stretching from under his left ear to under his left eye. His eyes were a deep blue, the colour of the ocean, and often hidden by his hair. Right now they were brimming with worry for her other friend, Osyth.
Osyth was half-Tanuli, and she looked it. She had a human head, but a Tanuli's muzzle and ears, she stood upright like a human, but her legs were Tanuli-shaped. She had a tail, and her entire body was covered in grey-brown fur except for in the dozens of places where she had been scarred; sometimes by others, but more often by herself. Her deep brown hair looked more like a mane than human hair. Her clothes, a now-sleevless shirt and a pair of shorts which had once been loose pants similar to Kenaz's, were the colour of dirt and cut or torn in many places; they had no visible hem any more, just scraps and tatters. She was small and slight but strong, and she was currently engaged in a struggle with Kenaz, who was holding her knife hand away from her chest.
"She was going to kill herself when I found her. She's still so depressed!" he called, fighting to keep her knife away from her ribs. "Her human nature is fighting her Tanuli instincts again. You know how much that hurts her mentally when it happens!" Kenaz told her in a low voice. Aislinn nodded. Gently, she placed her hands on each side of Osyth's head, just under her ears.
"Osyth," she called gently. The furred girl gave a shudder. "Osyth, stop fighting your instincts. You're going to hurt yourself."
"Pain isn't so bad, Aislinn. Sometimes it's welcome," Osyth murmured, but nonetheless she obeyed.
"Osyth, hurting yourself is definitely not good. No matter how bad life gets, killing yourself isn't going to help."
"There's nothing left for me in this life. My next life must be better than this one."
"What's the matter with this life?" Aislinn soothed, gently drawing the 15 year old girl up and hugging her from behind. Osyth relaxed and dropped her head back against Aislinn's shoulder. "I Know you've been hurt and betrayed. I know you've seen more death than anyone should. But haven't I as well?"
"That's true, I suppose," Osyth sighed, "Why did I get so depressed from my life, but you... you're still fighting? Why are we so different?"
"We're not, Osyth. Your whole soul, the Tanuli and the human combined, is a lot like me. But right now, you're still shoving the Tanuli part away. Your human part is depressed and broken. You as a whole is still fighting."
"But I don't want to fight. I just want to give up," Osyth replied softly, her knife moving towards her chest again. Aislinn caught it and pulled it away.
"No. Your human part wants to give up. But you're more than your human part. There's a Tanuli part, too. Why don't you let the Tanuli part become part of what you think of as "you" as well as the human part?"
"But my Tanuli part is so different from me!" Osyth protested, pushing herself away from Aislinn and turning to look her in the eye. Her eyes were golden, flecked with green, stunning and beautiful. "How could I make any descisions if my instincts were tugging me in two different diections?"
"If you had any sense, you'd think like your Tanuli part on the matters of life and death," Aislinn told her wryly, standing up and giving her the knife back. Osyth took it and tucked it into its sheath. "you could combine them to think enough like a human to get by, but enough like a Tanuli that you won't be depressed any more. You'd have a will to live again. That alone would make it worth it."
"Maybe," she told her, also standing and walking slowly from the camp, her numerous small cuts on her chest bleeding sluggishly.
"Are you sure you should do that? Give the knife back, I mean," Kenaz asked Aislinn. He'd been watching the two of them, sick with worry, and now he had eased up a little. "What if she tries to hurt herself again?"
"I'll stop her, don't worry," she told him, laying a reassuring hand on his arm. He wasn't so sure, but he left it at that.
Osyth, meanwhile, had gone down to the stream to bathe.

Zayne followed Aislinn quietly, keeping a fair distance away from her, so as not to be seen. Once she met up with her friend's, the sorceror's green eyes widened considerably. One of them had wings. It wasn't so much that this bothered him, he just really wasn't expecting it.
Upon closer examination, the young man realized that the other girl in the company looked sort of like a hybrid between an animal and a human. He pondered momentarily, before coming to the conclusion that she was a Tanuhh-...Tanil.... Something that sounded like like Spanuli. Tanuli? Possible. No matter though.
Seeing that the dishevelled girl was safe with her friends, Zayne decided he wanted to return to the tavern. It was wet outside, and cold. He tightened his darker green cloak around his shoulders, and turned to go back towards the village.

Osyth walked slowly towards the stream, the light rain gently washing away the blood that was running down her chest. She looked up. It was clearing a bit, and the rain was lessening. Good. Soon it would stop, and they might be able to get dry.
She looked ahead and did a double take. There was a figure there, wathcing the camp. He didn't seem to have noticed her. She dropped to all fours and crept forwards gently, circling to the side so as to avoid notice.
Just as the figure pulled his cloak around himself and turned away, she sprang, her knife finding its way to her hand. They fell to the ground in a tumble and flurry of movement. She gently pressed the claws of her left hand against his neck and touched the knife to the delicate skin below his ear.
"Who are you and what are you doing here? Tell me that, if you want to survive," she spat, her Tanuli survival instincts kicking in. Deciding that it would be wise to call for a bit of backup, she wet her lips and made a long, piercing whistle with an undertone of a howl. Aislinn and Kenaz would come for that; it was their signal.

This is what Zayne got for being a nice guy... A dagger pointed at him, and a hand around his throat. He winced at the feeling of her claws on his neck, his eyes widening. He usually kept himself with the good people crowd, and as such had never been in a physical brawl with someone, as he was now. In all honesty, he was far more used to practice summoning tiny creatures to play with.
However, he did know enough to give the girl an answer. Somehow, the thought of his throat being ripped out didn't please the sorceror whatsoever. He spoke quickly, trying to resume the occurances as quickly as possible.
"Uh...Girl, making sure she wasn't going to get hurt. Tavern, we were..."
Realizing he sounded like a dolt, Zayne stopped in his speech, and took a deep breath. Once he found he was suitably relaxed--provided the circumstances, Zayne met the girl's eyes evenly. His longish, flaxen hair was falling into his eyes due to the dampness, but that was alright. There were far more pressing matters on his mind, at that point in time. He smiled slightly, as though ashamed of how stupid he'd previously sounded, before speaking again.
"My name is Zayne...I was at a tavern, and there was this girl who showed up. She came in, and was sort of sad. While I was trying to cheer her up, she remembered she had to meet her companions, and I was worried that something would happen to her on her way out of town, so I followed to make sure she would meet up with her friends safely...She did, so... Can I...Uhh...Go home now? Please? Or have the dagger removed from my ear? Again, please? I'm really not interested in another piercing..."
Even though the girl was smaller, and probably light enough to be pushed off him while he made a run for it, the sorceror made no move to do so. He looked up at the girl with wide green eyes, thouh not because of how she looked. Honestly, he was surprised that she was so young. Why, the girl couldn't be more than fifteen or sixteen.
The ground underneath Zayne was damp, and there was a twig poking him right in the small of his back. Uncomfortable circumstances, to say the least. However, he kept his hands flat beside his head, palms up. No need to make the girl tense up by making any unnecessary movements.

"Aislinn?" Osyth demanded, shocked. "You followed Aislinn because you were worried about her? Worried about Aislinn?"
By this time she had let go of his throat and was laughing. "You are such an idiot! Did you think something was going to happen to her? She's been on her own for eight years, she didn't even meet Kenaz until last year, and me until three weeks ago! Honestly, you were worried that something would happen to Aislinn Amara Astalupe, the Immortal Dream, the Half Dragon? That is funny!"
Aislinn and Kenaz came running, then stopped, shocked. Osyth, depressed and unhappy Osyth, was lying on the ground laughing, and--
"Zayne?" Aislinn demanded, "What are you doing here? And how on earth did you manage to cheer Osyth up?"
Kenaz hung back. Obviously Aislinn knew this man, so his knife, Jaomyiana, and his martial arts skills weren't going to be needed. If trouble arose, Aislinn's D'Glace and Vlia would be enough to take care of it. Insted he pulled Osyth up and checked her over; she was still chuckling.

Zayne got up quickly, and dusted himself off ashamedly. His cheeks had gone a vibrant shade of red the moment Osyth had begun to laugh, and he was trying half-heartedly to hide it, though he knew it was a virtual impossibility.
"Uhh...Well, you see...It...Went sorta... ...You know, I really don't know.."
The young sorceror put a hand behind his head ashamedly, and smiled widely. He felt liek a complete idiot. Aislinn had even SAID she had black magics...And he still had felt the compulsion to make sure she didn't get hurt. How embarassing that was. He got over it quickly enough, and shrugged.
"....Well, s'good to know that noone tried anything. I'm...Gonna go back home, now..."

iceangel41787 looks at her map. I don't think this is where Iam suspossed to be. she thought. "That's the last time I ask st. Peter for directions" crumples the map up and throws it on the ground "I can't get back into heaven and now I am lost." "swell" she sighs. " I don't know how much longer I can stand searching for this Loyla key" "oh, a tavern" Angel walks in. She looks around and sees all the different creatures in the room. She goes over and sit on a couch near the fireplace {{You aren't supposed to be posting here. You didn't read the rules at all, did you?
