"Oh..." Conor said, a sigh of relief escaping him, was good to hear he would not be chopped to bits like the wood out there. Walking over to the sil Conor opened his book and placed it there, relieved to see the pages had not run. Though noticed a slight shiver in his hands and arms, oops... "yes, a blanket would be nice please" he said, walking from the window to where Emori was.

"Yeah, don't tell him I was wandering in the woods, though..." Some things were best left unsaid. Nodding as Conor shivered, he dashed quickly around a corner. The house was very simple, yet rustic. A moment later, Emori came dashing back around the corner with a quilt hanging over his head, pitched around him like a tent. Giving a heave, he tossed it at Conor.

"Okay..." he said, though was left standing there as Emori darted out of sight... and soon came back with a rather large looking quilt. Conor yelped as it was tossed on him and soon was buried under the mass of fabric. "Aaaah... well.... certainly is warmer in here" he chuckled, lifting up part of the quilt to peek out at Emori.

Emori's mirth filled the room as Conor was covered completely by the blanket - yes, he definitely needed to work on stifling his giggles. Well, at least Conor would be dry quickly! "Yeah, s'very warm, isn't it? S'the quilt from my bed" he nodded, giggling more as Conor peeked out, as if it was a fort. He was very tempted to join him underneath it. "Getting nice n' dry?" he asked, coming closer.

Conor couldn't help a small laugh as he could hear Emori's giggles through the quilt. At the foxtaur's question Conor nodded, "yes I am" he said, though the nod cause a droplet of water to hit the floor. He grinned sheepishly, "well, I'm getting there" he said.

"Good!" Emori replied, nodding before jumping around suddenly as the back door opened. The sound of rough paws on wood could be heard as the door swung shut. Emori immediately dropped his voice to a whisper. "My brother...don't worry, he'll like you!" Though the image of Tavok as he appeared in the archway covered in dirt and scrapes, an equally dirty broad sword held over his shoulder, was not a reassuring one.
"Oh, good, you're inside, thought you had wandered off again" Tavok remarked as he saw Emori. Then his eyes scanned the rest of the room. "Ah...and who is your friend blanket-taur there?"

At first reassured by Emori's words the sight before him brought back scenes where his imagination had gone wild and could see a sword soon swung his way. Gasping lightly as he had been spotted Conor let the quilt drop, effectively covering him as the little centaur forgot all about his frequently practiced manners.

Tavok set his sword down on a bench, realizing how it must've looked, and grinned at the centaur. The sword itself looked heavy, a rather brawny sword, and Tavok had the physique to match. "So, where'd you come from? Don't believe my brother has introduced me to you before..."
Emori cut in immediately, slightly stammering. "W-we've been in here...he came over here...he was just outside is all, I saw him and invited him in...in the yard! He's Conor!" he blurted out finally, hoping he didn't sound too ridiculously suspicious.

Conor blinked from under the blankets, boy did Emori sound panicky... pulling back the quilt Conor swallowed his fear and went into uber, stun-the-adults polite mode. "That's right, my name is Conor. Emori was kind enough to let me in, sorry for the way I acted earlier" he said, voice dead even yet still pleasent sounding; and much calmer.
((Conor to the rescue! pirate ))

Tavok smiled down warmly at the boys - he couldn't blame his brother for being so curious, for it was obvious what the truth was here. He was an adventurous handful himself as a child. Of course he wouldn't reprimand his brother, but he thought he'd have some fun with the situation, see how far they could take it... "Oh, no need to apologize, Conor! Sorry for barging in here with that sword, myself, should be more careful around you kids. Oh, that was nice of you, Em - so, why you all wet, Mr. blanket-taur?" Now it should get amusing...
"Umm...umm...'cause...well..." Emori knew very well that the stream didn't pass near where he was supposed to be. "He fell...into a puddle! You know, with water..." He glanced at Conor for help.
((XD; If only Emori was so composed =P))

Conor nodded, "that's right, I was outside, walking and reading my book, which I really shouldn't do because I'm a clutz, and fell into a puddle" he said, crossing his fingers mentally that this would work. He didn't want to get Emori into trouble....

"Oh?" He couldn't help but chuckle at the obvious fibs. "Well, lets hope that doesn't happen again, it can't be conductive to reading..." The book on the window sil told him that much. "Well, I see that Emori has set you up nicely here, like I should've known he would. You two enjoy yourselves, then" he said, turning to walk out before placing a hand on Emori's head. "I'm just glad you go further down towards where the stream gets worse" he remarked before ruffling Emori's hair and heading out into the room he had entered from.
"Uh...I..." he paused, smiling faintly as Tavok left before moving closer to Conor. "Well, it was a good try!" The chipperness was back in his voice. His brother just knew too much! "Thanks for helping..."

"I... didn't get you in trouble did I?" he asked, uncertain about what had just transpired. Pulling the quilt back over his head Conor shivered lightly, it was so much warmer under the quilt. Lifting the quilt a bit Conor peeked out at Emori, he sorta felt like a ninja, if this was how ninja's felt that is.

Smiling softly, Emori shook his head. "Nah, I'm sure he's just glad I got you here under that quilt, hehe." He was rather proud of himself for that too, in fact. "Besides, he was worse when he was a kid, I've heard stories, he went rompin' around everywhere, didn't even have a brother to watch him, just ran around looking for people to adventure with." Nodding, he eyed his brother's sword. "And he still thinks he's a warrior!" Emori was obviously no warrior himself, just curious...and a bit more bubbly than usual.

Conor chuckled from under the heavy fabric, someone more adventurous than Emori? Would be quite the feight as far as he'd seen. Though not knowing how bubbly Emori usually was, Conor saw no change in him. "Well, he seems nice then, not as scary when he puts the sword down" he admitted.
