Chii gently brushed his hand from her shoulder. "Whatever Ra, and I'm sure he did, though I bet it doesn't take much for you to forgive someone..." She was starting to get really irritated, and it was getting more and more evident in her voice.
"And you..." She looked at Kayne, disgusted. "How dare you. You're nothing but a condescending p***k. Joking about the incident as if it meant nothing. You're sitting awfully high for someone who's truly sorry." Reaching down she picked up her satchel and slung it over her head. What a shitty night it was turning out to be, and when it had started off so perfectly.

Kayne rose to his feet so that he wasn't being stared down at anymore, and his smile began to fade a bit as he studied Chii in a new light.
"Look.. Chiitra... I'm sorry, but you have seriously got to lighten up. Don't take your issues out on me and Ra. We may deserve several things for our actions, but bitchiness isn't one of them. Just because guys are able to bury the hatchet instead of holding onto every minute detail for the rest of their lives, doesn't mean that my sincerity isn't worth due respect," Kayne said, trying very hard to keep his posture and facial features neutral. He glanced over at Ra and felt immensely guilty for even walking over to say hello.

Chii's commment stung, no, it didn't just sting it hit him where it hurt. Hard. Stepping forward her turned to face her, forgetting Kayne was even there. "Coming from you Chii that really hurts. I KNOW." He cried, not really shouting but his voice carrying an edge to it. "I know I need to be stronger, I know I need to stand up to people. My shrink says it, Kayne says it, sensei says it and now you. I am very aware."
He took a breath and lowered his voice a tone. There were still people sat around enjoying the evening. Just because theirs was ruined it didn't mean they had to wreck everyone elses. "You know, three years of getting the crap kicked out of me for trying to stand up for my friends and my beliefs, kinda knocks your confidence a bit."
He sighed and picked up his own bag. "I'm trying to be a better person. Really trying. Which is why Sensei wanted us to get on, hoping Kayne might help me and I might help him. But you know what would really, really help me more than anything? A bit of support and understanding from people I care so much about. Especially after what I told you this evening."
His eyes leaving hers he bent down to pick up the half empty containers. "I'm sorry I didn't punch him back and smash his face up, because that would have made me such a good person." Standing he turned to face her once more. "Forgivness is not the easy option Chii."
He knew he needed to get out of there, because she would either get angrier or cry. If she got angrier he would just get more irritated, if she cried he knew he wouldn't be able to keep up his anger. He was about to take his leave when Kayne spoke.
"Kayne, don't please." He began. He didn't like the way he was speaking towards her. Then again he was within' his right. She had judged him on one action and now he was judging her. "You don't know anything about her, about us. You should probably just leave." He turned back again to face Chii. "I'm going for a walk, come and find me when you want to talk about this properly. Heaven forbid I be the one who backs down. I'd just be proving you point."

Chii recoiled in horror, as her face went white as a sheet. She'd hit way below the belt. She hadn't meant to, everything had just come spilling out. Ra had never done anything to deserve such a blow, but it was too late to take it all back now.
She wanted to cry, to scream, but she didn't. Her face remained pale and emotionless, her arms hung at her side. How could she have been to stupid! So inconsiderate, after all they'd been through. What was wrong with her?! She was being a total b***h, and for nothing, so what if they made up...was that such a big deal? Did she really want Ra to have punched Kayne back? Yeah probably, she did, but that wasn't the issue right now.
She'd felt her emotions and had known her stance so clearly earlier, but now it was all falling apart. Kayne had hit Ra for no good reason, that's what she was mad about, so how had it turned into this?
Watching Ra turn away her heart sunk. She wished she was miles away, miles and miles away. She wished she was a different person, a better person. She hated herself so much, and not being able to stand the sight of his back walking away from her she turned and ran away, not even acknowledging Kayne.

Kayne stood for a moment, rooted to the spot looking between the couple that had parted ways so angrily. He thought for a moment that maybe he should go after one of them, but he didn't know which one. He knew Ra would be too angry right now to deal with him and just tell him to leave him alone. Chii just really hated his guts at the moment and he really didn't fancy getting his own face beat in by a girl. Obviously the fight had shifted a bit from him to something that had been festering between them. Feeling immensly guilty, Kayne shoved his hands into his pockets and walked off in search of Cirrus. He needed to get back to the campus anyways for his first martial arts lesson with sensei. He figured he's hunt them down the next day and apologize to them both, though he doubted even after a night's sleep Chii would want to have anything to do with him.

Ra didn't see her run off he just kept walking. He knew if he turned back and saw her upset he'd take his words back. Why should he, when he meant every one of them.
He walked in silence through the crowds of people, none of them were really there. Just a blur of colour and noise under the pink blossoms. As he walked he realised there must have been something else wrong. What happened back there was odd. It wasn't normal Chii.
Now he really wanted to go back and find her. Not to say he was sorry, because he wasn't but to make sure she was all right. Giving a heavy sigh he forced himself to keep walking. She wouldn't thank him for coming to find her.
He walked out of the way of the bright lanterns and round the back of the campus to the gardens. Taking a cigarette out he sat by the edge of the pond and began to smoke, watching the reflection of the moon waver on the black water.
