ok, gun, if you have a question on the tremere, I am probably one of the better players to talk to, but I can probably only answer questions about the LARP version of the Tremere, because I have been playing a tremere for almost 2 years now. Tremere are fun to play, but I also like playing the Lasombra, but if anyone reading this has a question for me, just ask, because I have all of the vampire clanbooks, 3rd edition, laws of elysium, laws of the night(revised), laws of the night, Dark Epics, Camerilla Guide, the Sabbat Guide, Laws of the ascension, laws of the east, Hengyokie: shape shifters of the east, Vampire by Gaslight, laws of the wild, The shining host, the shining host players guide, laws of ascension players guide, laws of the ressurection, oblivion, laws of the reckoning, and the laws of the hunt, as well as la libre de la ghouls: the book of the ghouls.

Here's what I don't get... A thread discussing the pros and cons about the Tremere bloodline, and everyone can't stop talking about "Le ZOMG! Tremere r t3h suxx0rz cuz he diableerieairjelijized Saulot! Lolz!!!111"

Yeah, we know. It's done now, and it's been along time since then.

And besides... If you want to prevent it, why don't you go take on Tremere himself?

I understand that many people hate the Tremere based on how the clan progenitor, Tremere himself, Butchered and diablerized Saulot, the Salubri Antideluvian. However, if Saulot had never sired Baal, whom most of us know as the progenitor of the Baali bloodline, and as they traffic with demons and that ilk, you have no right to say who is right and wrong. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it the Brujah that were the philosopher kings of old, and destoyed it all in one fatal moment?

Indeed we Brujah were the philosopher kings... but that was long ago and my bloodline is afflicted with the curse of blind rage now. From what I've heard Saulot was a pretty good guy. Tremere had no reason to kill him. Basically the only reason I see why the Tremere cling so tightly to one another and their prejudices is because they are afraid. Afraid of someone overthrowing them, or finding them out to be what they truly are. Just a bunch of old hacks with a couple of magic tricks.

The thing about this game is the books released are very much opinionated and so you will effectively get a new interpretation of an individual depending on where you read it from. According to many texts Saulot was considered to be a great guy but quite of ten you can find contradictions of this. The game is designed this was so that different clan players will effectively argue as thought they have been brought up by the clan they are playing. Correct me if I’m wrong but you are a die hard Brujah player, are you not? And you seem to speak according to the information based around the Brujah. If one was to remove ones self from the bias that is presented in the books we can see both sides of a story. I mean think about this even the Baali thought Saulot was evil. Anyway, my point is rather than looking at previous clan histories and trying to work out who are the nice and evil clans from that, why not just pass judgment on the clans according to there present involvement in Kindred society.

Now in reference to what I’ve just said there are a few things to consider about the present Tremere when playing them.

1. they are the primary magic users. This means that through the manipulation of their blood they can thaumaturgicaly summon almost an infinite number of different effects from pure offensive spells to physiological effects, some Tremere have even rumoured to have been able to alter them selves to become dubiously greater in power.
2. Magic is gained through knowledge and Tremere will usually stop at nothing to acquire such knowledge. Now unfortunately what this means is allot of time spent RPing could logically be spent searching though hundreds and hundreds of books in occult libraries just to gain that extra spell. Or alternatively going to extensive lengths to kill that Camarilla price who apparently has some sort of book containing information that could lead you to acquiring another spell.
3. Tremere love power but hate any one having power or magic for that matter. As Tremere are one of the only clans that can use magic they try at all costs to keep it that way. Gaining more power is just as important to a Tremere as stopping others from competing with that power or sharing it.

The Tremere aren't that bad. I don't love or hate them but all except one of my characters hates them. They are useful except when you have three plus in a group then all you want to do is kill them cause they either don't shut up or blow everything up with their fing magik.
