Wow. This thread totally bugs me. I've seen an influx of plastic hippies here. Just because a corporation is big, doesn't make it evil. Except for the majority of clothing at wal-mart. The s**t is made in sweatshops. And sweatshops = slavery. Totally bugs me when people do things like this. "I'm a hippie... cause.. I care about the earth! That just makes you an environmentalist. Much more involved in being a hippie, I'm way off track now, but anyway. Hippiedom is not some joke, its not a fashion statement, it's not a fad, its NOT rebellion (well, it is, but that's not all it is). I'm even more off track but I had to get this out. Yeah, I don't mean to be stingy, so don't take it like I'm saying certain people can't be hippies. It just bugs me when people say they are hippies just for the shock factor, or the fashion. If you wanna dress, psychadelic? Do it! That doesn't make you a hippie.
Wanna rebel against wal-mart? GO FOR IT. But don't do it "just cause hippies do". Okay, rant mode off, with mucho love.
