If Jason's comment had been trying to solicit a laugh, Eriol didn't notice. Instead he pondered it for a moment, then groaned. "Mighta been nice if we'd done that anyway. 'Least we woulda had some fun, 'fore the ball 'n chain. But ya know, I thought those were supposed to be women."
It was a bad attempt at cheerful conversation, but it was also a touchy subject. Jason was probably right. Any guy with a kid would have to have knocked someone up, and that was hardly a turn-on for women, was it? And just when he wanted to get serious too.
That simple giggle confused Viviana horribly. Usually it was a sound she associated with being happy, and nice people. But that boy wasn't nice. He was horrible for making her hurt. The hurt had mostly faded, but the memory wasn't so quick to heal, and the pain inside was still present. The boy, on the other hand, seemed to have forgotten everything already.
Outcry answered instead, blowing a small spout of water up as high as he could. It wasn't enough to soak the boy, as he'd hoped, but a few drops might spash him.

"You might have had fun..." Jason muttered a bit, now if it had been a man he knocked up that would be something different. EXTREEMLY different. Shaking the yaoi porn thought out of his head, he looked over at Eriol and smiled a bit more. "I will warn ya incase I haven't yet... but I am gay." Better let him know now and flee whil ehe still had the chance. "And no I'm not hitting on you." He winked, "I'm just openly friendly with everyone- minus the female gender of our population..."
As the water sprouted up, Colby gave out a giddy giggle. He tried wiggling in Jay's arms to get closer, reaching out to try and touch the water. But to no avail. Jason kept him quite pinned to his shoulder. He gave out a small frustrated sound when he realized all his reaching was in vain. But the water was so sparkly in the sunshine he just wanted to get to it!

If that admission was supposed to shock Eriol it failed, though the teenager was mildly surprised, and a bit disappointed. So much for help finding a girl. Personally Eriol didn't understand the whole "gay" thing- why would someone want to make out with another guy? But it was to each his own, and at least that meant more ladies for him. Or something along those lines.
"Whatever," he finally said dismissively. "Doesn' matter ta me. As long as ya keep yer hands ta yerself, it doesn' really make much'va diff'rence." They could go into the how and why later. Maybe.
More shocking was how nonchalant Jason was about everything. It was as if wandering through that freaky house and getting stuck with a kid didn't even faze him. And sure, the kid being a boy might have made things easier, but not by a lot. "You really okay with all this? A kid'n all?"
The waterspout wasn't high enough, and Outcry silently let it slip, not seeing a point in continuing. Instead he turned his attention to Viviana for a short moment, tickling her feet with his tail in a strange attempt to distract her.
It didn't work. All Viviana did was shriek loudly and try to pull away. Everything seemed like it was against her!

Jason stopped walking as he pondered the question. Was he ok with it? He smiled a bit. "At first... No. It was a b***h in that house. But my mother has been helping me with raising a kid, that and I helped raise most of my younger siblings so I'm quite good with kids already." He said softly and then frowned as Vivi started to cry. "You on the other hand may need a few pointers." He laughed a bit.
From the little girls tears, Colby too found a reason to cry. His reason being, with her crying and getting all the attention, he had to do something now! Little feet wiggled and hands grabbed at Jason's hair as he wailed just as loud is Vivi.
Jason frowned at this, doing his best to calm Colby. A gentle pat to the back and a soothing hum was all that was needed to get the boy's screaming down to sniffling and wiping snot on his shoulder... Yum.

At least he wasn't completely okay with it. That would have just been freaky. But the comment about him needing pointers actually made Eriol blush lightly. "Psh, I've helped my Mom, but this's jus nuts. 's not like I'm supposed ta know how ta take care'f a kid anyway, ya know?"
He did, however, stroke Viviana's hair lightly with his free hand. Poor kid seemed to be having a monster of a day, but that made both of them for a change.
The attention did a little to soothe Viviana, and she straightened out a little, leaning into Eriol's hand. The warmth was comforting, as was the attention. At least there was still someone that wasn't hurting her.
"Anyway," Eriol huffed, "if yer so good at this, got any'f those pointers ya mentioned?" If he didn't, then they would be on the same playing field after all. And if he did... well, it wouldn't hurt to learn something that might make all their lives easier.

"Me give you pointers huh? Well that's going to have to be saved for another day. There's so much I could go over. I've helped my mother raise at least... 8 kids... I think. I can't recall right now." He stated, flashing a smile over his shoulder at Eriol. He noted the blush and chuckled a bit to himself. That was kinda cute.
"Anyway, I'm sure we can hang out some time in the future. Never know but these two could end up dating! Now that is a parents worst nightmare. But before I start blathering away, the coffee shop is here." And here was stopping right in front of a small cafe. Jason, having a free hand, pulled open the door for Eriol. "After you."

So he was just a mama's boy too. Eriol's opinion of Jason went down slightly, but the drop was tempered by the realization that maybe he knew more than he'd thought too. Except, of course, about diapers and such. That he might not be so clueless as he was giving himself credit was a bit of a shock to Eriol, and he stood outside the door for several seconds before noticing it was open and entering.
"We'll see," he finally replied, eyeing the place. It wasn't too shabby. Hopefully the food would be decent. The next comment brough Eri's attention back to his combanion for, and his eyebrows almost meeting his hairline. "It's sorta early ta think 'bout that, isn't it?"

Jason couldn't help but laugh once more. "Yes yes... It is too early to be thinking of that, but it's a possibility of course." He said, winking as he headed over to an empty table just near the windows.
"Now if you just wait a moment... I'll go get us some coffee. Or do you prefer something else?" He asked as he finally calmed little Colby down, bouncing the boy on his hip a bit while caressing his back. "I think I may just get hot cocoa myself."

"Nah, coffee's fine," Eriol nodded, setting Viviana's carrier on a chair and dragging that chair over to the table. "Black, with some sugar, if y'don' mind."
Letting out an unusually loud gurgle, Viviana turned on her side and started patting Outcry, scattering droplets of mist everywhere. In an attempt at a dignified response, Outcry lashed his tail, but when that did nothing he simply tried to ignore it.
"And maybe somethin' for 'er. She likes apple juice, if they've got it." And if they didn't, then the cafe really wasn't worth the walk. But Eriol didn't say that. Instead he simply took a seat at the table, next to Viviana, and wiggled his fingers in front of her as a way to busy himself while Jason got the drinks.
