They definitely do. One of my friends had an okay voice to begin with (her talent is her ear, not her voice), but once she started taking voice lessons, I heard a HUGE improvement. Before the voice lessons, there was a lot of air in her tone... and now there's almost none. o.o;

ok so even if i was the shyest person in the world (dont worry im not) and I took voice lessons I would become more confident in myself? lol

How long do you think ill have to take voice lessons to feal more confident?
And are you sure I wont even have a tinge of fear in me when I sing a solo after taking lessons?

There isnt really a measure its different for everyone. See with voice lessons you improve the quailty and sound of your voice, and with that improvement comes the confidence, at least thats what I think. It really depends on how self concious you are now, and nothing is really guarenteed.

I have to admit, I'd be petrified if I were to sing a solo.

I've already been asked to sing one by our director, but I had to turn it down. D:
