FiaNari
Very well written.
Input: I guess in the future when there are no original Vale Tudo fighters left there will be a very notable difference.
Saajel said something about just random spitting/sacking contests. Not much matches would end up with nutshots, because the fighters would be adjusted to fight against the possibilty of sacking. Which doesn't mean it wouldn't happen, just the fighters would strategize in a way as to avoid as much as possible the probability of getting nutted.
I have a question for Ganked if he knows the answer: As far as I know the Indonesian fights are absolutely ruthless, has there been any restriction implemented?
One of my instructors who was World Eskrima Champion back in 1996 and 1997 fought in a no holds barred stick fight over in the Philipines.
The rules back then were anything goes (punching, kicking, head butting, etc) you just wore a head guard and that was it. My instructor punched his opponant to the floor ripped off his head guard and head butted him into unconciousness.
He got commended by their goverment for taking part in a traditional fight and has the certificates in his garage.
