My GSA's doing it.
Cute story:
Someone was writing a science article for my school newspaper with the word 'homogenous' in it. Homogenous means the same throughout [ie, in a mixture]. It's pronounouced "huh-mah-juh-nis".
My principal heard someone pronounce it "ho-mo-gee-nious" and banned the article from being published.
stressed So on our DoS shirts, we're writing on the back:
WE'RE ALL
HOMOGENOUS.
heart Dude, you can't ban that word. D: Wth, it's a very important word in many sciences, particularly chemistry. What an idiot! He's being detrimental to your learning. :[
AWESOME play on that, though. X]
We're also organizing the event at our school. We're in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, so our region is fairly liberal, as is our high school (although it's located in a rather conservative suburban area).
The thing is, there are a lot of people who are supportive, but few of them care enough to participate and actually speak out all the time about it. We're hoping to get enough participating to make this a fairly "loud" event anyway. X3
Gay-Straight Alliance members will be wearing t-shirts to mark us (we'll be handing out speaking cards to anyone who wants to participate). A lot of the other participants will be wearing their standard "Eat, Drink, and Be Gay" shirts--our GSA has been selling them. ^___^ A lot of positive comments about them~ People keep telling me that it's a really cute shirt<3
