Elven Foxx Kitsune Ookami He could be hmm....Belle's dad Firmin and Andre would, of course be Lumiere and Cogsworth. Carlotta would be that dresser or the feather duster I don't know about persian or carlotta, but i agree about Firmin and Andre So do I. it makes sense.

I noticed that...but I like PotO better, because Erik is more deformed and that never changes and Christine leaves him, (which is bad for him but...) I don't have to fantasize about how to put myself in the story. Although I have come up with really weird ways to put myself in the middle of the story.
I know, I'm messed up.

Elven Foxx OH! And the whole 'Mirror' and 'Rose' thing plays an important part in bolth musicals. There 2 different roses, and 2 different mirrors, but in a way hey are sort of the same. So, umm, this is gonna sound stupid but...What is the significance of the rose. I've only read the book and listened to the soundtrack, so I'm guessing it is from the musical and the movie. But what is the significance?

The Persian is the Beast's Magical Mirror. It leads Gaston to the Beast.
(I've always wondered HOW it lead him to it....did it have map quest on it? "turn right here, take the next left...")

If anything Phantom of the Opera is a combonation of many stories.
Cinderella- Raoul and Christine relationship. Raoul is technically considered royalty, and Christine is nothing but a simple orphan.
Psyche and Cupid- The point Christine discovers Erik's true identity. With the exception Cupid is handsome and Erik is terribly ugly.
Hades and Persephone: Lord of the Underworld dragging down Goddess of Spring and Summer to be his wife.
The Frog Prince- Young girl is kind to frog and turns into handsome prince. Perhaps more with an internal change, as in the beginning Erik sees Christine as more of a possesion than a person until she cries at the end and lets him kiss her feet.
Bluebeard- A murderous husband and an all too-curious wife. >> Read it you'll see the similarities in no time.
Baisically it seems that Leroux just messhed all of the mythology and fairy tales he could find. And those are the only ones I can name off the top of my head.

Oh and I noticed the similarities in the Hunchback of Notre Dame too!
Pretend Frollo and Quasimodo are formed together. Frollo is baisically a ***** priest, and doesn't mind the thought of killing those weaker than him(disfigured on inside). Quasimodo is more gentle and loving (disfigured on outside).
Okay at the end remember how Frollo gave Esmeralda the choice of either burning at the steak for being a witch or 'choosing him' and she would be let free. And then Quasimodo saves her and releases her to Pheobus. (yes I have read the book and Esmerelda dies, and Pheobus dies but bear with me)
This ending can easily compare to that of the character of Erik. Because it seems that Erik suffers from Bipolar. Perhaps Frollo and Quasimodo can represent his two sides.
And of course in the end Esmerelda chooses Phoebus (Raoul) Even Pheobus' name shows what kind of character he is and relates back to Greek mythology, where Pheobus was the roman god who ruled over the sun.
Esmerelda is a poor, gypsy which are looked down upon. Actresses at that time were thought of just above prostitutes, and Christine can baisically interpret to the beautiful and tempting Esmerelda.
Yeah... I look too far into things...
