Ligeia's gentle reassurance was just what Earako needed. She squeezed back, lightly, and summoned a smile back to her lips. "I-- I hope so. I guess, well, I guess I'm a little afraid." She admitted at last, though she managed to keep her head up, and her voice level. "What if it hatches, and it doesn't like me?"

She really would be a failure as a child of D-corp then. The slow knowledge that dragons were, essentially, the reason for her existance, had come to Earako recently. So if she failed with a dragon, she'd have failed at existing. The thought haunted her, and her Da' just didn't understand. It didn't help that she was getting ahead of herself. She didn't even know what sort of dragon she was getting, and she was already worried about their relationship.

"I'd like it if we could practice flying together." She added, shifting the subject to something a bit more upbeat. "Da' can't really help much, since he doesn't got wings, so he doesn't know how it works. I've been watchin' bats, but its all different when I do it." Another smile, slightly more genuine than the last. "I get all mixed up, but you're right. We've got to have wings for a reason."

She streached hers to their fullest extent, glancing between the dark membrane that formed them, and Ligeia's lighter, feathery flight tools. So different, it was strange to think that they had to learn the same thing. But they did! And they could, maybe, if they worked together.

"It's going to be your dragon, your partner and fri-Eeeend. I should like you since your gonna b-Eeee spending a lot of time together." He said, at least one would think. Where there times when dragons were as overly fond of their partner as Vorel was? He had no idea...

Then he shook his head to clear out those thoughts, "Yeah... My Daddy tries to help but... well... you were in the Winger Class." And in his mind that explained everything. Orpheus tried really hard yes but he didn't have wings so he didn't know exactly how to teach those that did, only the theory of it.

Ligeia tilted his head to the side then smiled and opened up his wings all the way too then smiled, "You have neat looking wings." He said, they were a lot different then his and seemed more... solid? Was that the word? Instead of a lot of feathers they were sort of... Like Vorel's wings.

Vorel? He had been a bit quiet hadn't he? Ligeia turned to look over at him and he was laying on his back, sprawled out in the middle of the hallway. It seemed he'd grown bored waiting for them and decided a nap was the best way to spend his time.

It was? Well, maybe Ligeia was right. Earako would like to have her dragon be her friend. They could have all sorts of adventures together. And be a family. Her, the dragon, Da', or the leaf. If the older boy was right. And he had Vorel, so didn't he have to be right? Earako sure hoped so.

"Mr. Orpheus is very nice, though. And the class was fun, other than falling down." She touched her glasses absently, as she thought of the class. It'd been silly of her to try and fly with them lose. She always kept them tied on now. It helped. Mostly.

"They don't have feathers." She responded, stating the obvious. "Bats don't got them. They're umm... mammels. But mostly they're not white. 'cept me. Albino vampire bats are rare." It sounded a bit like the recitation that it was, but the young girl clearly wasn't bragging. She just wanted to explain why she looked so... well... weird. At least, that's how she saw it.

It seemed almost as if Earako had forgotten about the dragon's existance, now that Ligeia had her full attention. She knew he was still there, but her habit of focusing on one thing, and one thing only made him fade to the background in her mind.

"Ohhh! I s-Eeee. So you are a special sort of bat. Thats neat." He said missing the fact that she was just explaining her coloration. So she was a rare bat type then? That must be cool to be a special and rare sort of creature, not that he would complain about what he was, he liked himself well enough. Nothing really to complain over passed having sharp nails on his hands and feet.

"I don't know about special. I think mostly it means they messed up." Still young, she had a hard time comprehending the details. But her Da' had tried to explain to her what being an albino meant. It didn't help much that he didn't understand it much better than she did. Despite his best efforts, she had left the conversation convinced that something was wrong with her.

Even if Da' said...

Da'!

"Oh, oh umm... oops!" She closed her wings abruptly, wrapping them about her in an abviously nervous motion, "I'm gonna miss my Da'! Do you know which way to the playroom? I got all mixed up."

He didn't quite believe that she didn't look at all messed up to him, she looked... well he didn't have any other batchildren to compare her to so she looked fine in his eyes.

"The playroom?" He asked then looked around to figure out where they were, "I think if you keep going down this hall then make a left." It wasn't to terribly far off from his father's classroom which was the only reason he knew here it was.

The owl boy walked over and knelt down next to Vorel to give him a poke, "Vorel, Vorel! Time to wake up." He said, poking him again.

The dragon gave a grummble and pushed up to his feet, growling then looked over at Earako and then to Ligeia, "She has to go to find her Daddy and we still need to go and get you fed." He told him then turned to Earako, "It was r-Eeeally nice getting to talk to you, sorry if I k-Eeept you from finding your Daddy. Didn't mean to hold you up."

"No, I umm..." Earako shuffled her feet, uncomfortable with the necessity of her sudden departure. Ligeia had been so nice to her, and Vorel too. "It was nice to talk. To you. And Vorel."

Reaching down, she extended a hand to briefly pat Vorel. A dragon. And he'd liked her. Maybe, just maybe that was a good sign.

"I gots to go, though. I hope we get to fly together soon!"

She waved as she headed off in the direction the owl boy had indicated, a bit of a bounce in her step. She was going to tell her Da' all about it. But maybe without mentioning the part where she got lost in the halls.

"Yes! We will fly together soon!" He called then Ligeia watched her go then gave a happy smile before looking back to Vorel, "Ready to go and find food?" He asked of him and soon the pair of them were heading back for their rooms to find Orpheus and talk him into food.
