Zimwi blinked as the water hit him. Turning, he raised an eyebrow. "Oh, gonna play like that, are we?" Doing the same thing, he sent a wave in Ny's direction, grinning a bit. "Take that!"

The wave had knocked her onto her rear, and she shakes her head to clear it of water, the salmon on her head looking almost red, it's now so dark. But she laughed, getting to her paws again as she jumped closer to him, causing a large smount of water to splash over him, and soaking herself in the process. Not that she cared, however. She was already wet, and loving it.

The paler lion laughed, then paddled out into the center, floating a bit. "This is where the water's deepest. Standing on the bottom, if you rear up on your back paws, you can easily stay above the surface." A grin made it onto his wet face. "Not ideal for lions older than me because they can't float."

Ny nodded and paddled out after him, somewhat awkwardly. She wasn't the best swimmer in the world, but she was adapting. At least she was floating. Drawing up alongside him, she stretched her back paws down so that they touched the floor of this little pool, so that she was standing as he'd said. Her muzzle stuck above the water, which was good. Idly, she watched the passage of currents as they passed the two pale lions by.

Rolling over onto his back, Zimwi simply... Relaxed. The pool had just enough flow from the river that it stayed cool and fresh, but not too much to where they could be swept away. What mane he had floated around him, tail floating lazily. With a sigh, he smiled. "This is so relaxing, just flloating here... Warmed on one side by the sun, cooled on the other by the water..."

She had remained still for a little while, and quiet, but you can only ask a cub to stay that way for so long. Growing bored quickly with this, she poked him in the side with her paw, rather hard, but not enough to hurt.

"Find something fun to do, Zimwi," she murmured, looking imploringly at him, as though she can make him do as she wishes with her crimson eyes alone.

Using one paw to turn himself around in the water, then the other to turn the other way, Zimwi thought a moment. Rolling over, he paddled to the shore, shaking his coat out. "Well... There's always exploring around the river, so long as you don't get too close. Even a grown lion could get swept away, most likely."

That sounded good to her. Better than floating here doing nothing, anyway. She prods him with a delicate paw again, before paddling in her awkward way towards the shore, clambering out and shaking herself off, then sitting daintily and beginning to clean her white fur. She didn't mind getting dirty, not at all, but she liked to clean herself after she'd stopped having fun in the mud.

"Come on then," she says, between cleaning licks to her fur.

With a nod, the white lion padded down the trail to the river. It glimmered in its deminishing state in the sun, looking ever so beautiful. "Even though it's shrunk... Stay out of it. Sticky mud, swift current in the center... It's dangerous."

Nyunya padded along behind Zimwi, occasionally shaking out her fur, preferring, now that she's out of the water, to be dry. Her fur felt heavy, and it wasn't something she was enjoying all that much.

At the words 'sticky mud', however, her ears perked. Now that sounded fun. She loved playing with mud. She loved the feel of it squelching between her paws. And so she ignored the rest of Zimwi's warnings, beginning to creep towards the edge... but, of course, she's also not the stealthiest cub in the world. She's actually quite clumsy, and manages to make a noticeable amount of noise.

THe young male chuckled, watching his 'niece' playing in the mud. Padding over carefully, the mud soaked up into his fur. "Wow this stuff is slimey..." He wrinkled his nose before slipping down into the water. Hauling out, he found himself at least cleaned of the mud, but now very much wet again. And muddy again... As he shook himself off on the shore, Zimwi kept an eye on Nyu. "Don't go too far out, you might fall in the river and get swept away..."

"I won't," she muttered, but Ny had never liked being told what to do - or, more correctly, what not to do. And warnings never make much of an impression on young minds. And so, she heads back into the water, but progressing slowly so as to make sure the mud squishes between her little toes. But it's rather obvious that her destination is to get as far out into the water as possible. Deliberately disobeying and putting herself in danger. Tsk tsk, Nyunya.

A sigh escaped the pale lion. She didn't like to listen, did she? "If you fall in, I don't know if I can save you or not..." He followed after her, trying to keep from sinking too deep.

A snort left her muzzle as she tossed her head back to look at him. "I'm not going to fall, Zimwi, I -" As if on cue, she lost her footing and disappeared under the water. She was only gone for a moment, however. When she resurfaced, she sucked in a breath and expelled it in a series of hacking coughs, all the while glaring at the white male, locking crimson to orange, daring him to laugh at her or tell her 'I told you so'.

Laughter was the last thing on Zimwi's mind, as was taunting. Moving as fast as he could through the mud, he jumped in, swimming over. "Nyunya!" Ears back, he caught her by the scruff, dragging her up onto a part of shore where the mud wasn't so sticky. "Do you see why I told you not to get too close to the water? You don't fully know how to swim yet and you could very well DROWN." As he looked her in the eye, only worry shone at her.
