Amani sat up and scratched behind one ear. "Lucky. I know I must have had parents, but I don't remember. Been on my own for forever," she replied with a little nod. She was glad that she kinda had a family with her friends Tufani and Jani'mwiba, but she still would have liked to have a mother or father.
"I don't play much. Sometimes, when I'm alone I do, but mostly I just sit and watch. I... I'm not always very good around others," Amani admitted to the small cheetah.

"Oooh!" the cub grins, taking a couple steps of a semicircle. So she isn't the only one not to know exactly where her family is! That's good.. sort of.
"You're not good around others?" she repeats, giggling, "You're good now! I'm not a other?" Chukari grins, swishing her tail and looking like she's about ready to pounce at Amani playfully.

Amani watched Chukari with a grin, expecting something from the cub's body language.
"Yeah. Sometimes, I won't have so much trouble, like now. But if there were more here, then I'd be all quiet and trying to hide. I guess I'm okay with one or two others, as long as they're not bigger than me. Bigger things scare me," she replied, watching the cheetah out of the corner of her eye.

"You're bigger than me," she observes despite how obvious it is, thinking mainly about how she isn't scared of Amani until she realizes that means that the lioness wouldn't be afraid of her! That's good, she'd hate to be scary.
"But you have to like to play," she declares, nodding firmly- there's no way anyone could not like playing. The concept of different ways of playing with different people isn't something she's concerned with. With a mischevious grin, she takes her chances and pounces at Amani- not aiming very high, mainly towards her paws.

"Oh, I do like to play," Amani replied and moved just as Chukari pounced. She pinned the cub down by putting on paw on her back.
"I mostly play by myself, though," she added and grinned down at her captive as her tail swished back and forth.

Kari laughs as she leaps, but it turns quickly to a puzzled silence when her target suddenly moves and there's pressure put on her back- she's been caught!
"Oh!" she gasps, wriggling gently to test what kind of hold Amani has on her, then she giggles, "I meaned with me, not alone." With that she attempts to roll over, turning her head to try to get at Amani's paw.

Amani moved her paw back and forth a little bit, checking to see if Kari was ticklish or not.
"Oh, so that's what you meant. Well, then I guess I'll have to just play with you more often, then, huh?" she asked in a light tone and batted at her friend's ear.

Only managing to roll over halfway before Amani started to tickle her, she curls her legs inward and starts to laugh. She wriggles around as she giggles, trying to escape, but not making too great of an effort.
"Y-y-eah," she manages through her laughing, needing to pause to breathe- and taking that chance when her ears at batted at. Now she'd have to get Amani back for that! She rolls over and away, looking back at Amani and trying to devise an impressive plot for revenge, still catching her breath..

Amani grinned down at Kari. "You're really fun, you know that? Maybe I'll stay here for a while, so that we can play a lot, huh?" she asked, sitting down and tilting her head slightly.
The sun was beginning to set behind her, now. She would have to return to the thorn patch, soon. She still wasn't very good at defending herself and it was during the darkness that she stood out the worst.

Still panting, Kari looked back up at Amani, deciding against retaliation for the time being. Instead, she giggled at her- she was having a lot of fun! It'd be great if Amani stayed and they played like this all the time!
"You're real fun too!" she exclaimed, finally getting up and pouncing at her friend. Kari aimed not to hit Amani, but rather land infront of her. "I'd like playing with you lots, there are lots of other games to play too," she continued excitedly, "I mean, if you did decide to stay."

Amani jerked back when Kari jumped at her and laughed when the cub fell short on purpose. "I think I just might. I mean, I have shelter and friends for once. And someone to play with! What more could I ask for?" she asked, her grin widening. She knew her wandering paws would probably lead her somewhere else, but at least she would stay here for a little while, enjoying time with Kari and Tufani and Jani.

"Nothing," Kari answered with a loud laugh, in her opinion fun and friends meant everything. She had little grasp on the importance of staying safe, and family, and family's contribution to staying safe. Her eyes drifted off to the horizen, noticing that the sun was setting. It drew a grin from her, sunset was the best time for the little cheetah, considering it was when it was easiest for her to hide.
"It's almost sunset," she observed brightly.

The young lioness followed her gaze and her face fell slightly. "Yeah, it is almost sunset. I should be getting back, soon. Tufani and Jani'll probably be wondering where I've gone off to. And it's not as safe for me after dark. I tend to stand out," Amani explained, forcing a smile. She didn't want her friend to know how sad she was that the day was over and their fun would have to end.

"B-but I bet you're smart enough to be able to stay hidden anyway," she said confidently, puffing up. Really, Kari knew what it was like to stand out- only she stood out almost every time of the day, save sunset really. She frowned when she realized this meant Amani would have to leave her soon, and looked at the ground.
"I should go soon, too," she lied, though she really had no where in particular to go. It was more in hopes Amani would not feel bad about having to leave.

"Oh, I am. I usually stay hidden," Amani replied, her smile changing to a sincere one. "Want to meet back here again tomorrow or something? We can play more games, for, to tell you the truth, I don't know many," she laughed, standing up.
