Click to show. The wetness was making Tria cold and she shivered a bit even though the only part of her that she'd gotten wet was her forelegs, and so she began to groom them, following Oswald's actions. "Maybe 'surprised' is not the right word, but, why do you think this is, what reason would another have to be scared of you?" Tria again wondered at the feli that she knew and didn't know so well, some of us wear masks to hide what we feel, what we think, masks given to us by others or our own selves... When he spoke again she looked to him, took a closer look at his teeth, "So those are your teeth, I guess some might think them scary, but..." Here she hesitated and tilted her head a bit to one side. "Do you want others to think you a danger?" She was a little confused, unsure where he was going with this train of thought.
"Oswald then." Tria smiled with a bit of a nod, then she stopped and looked up to the sky, looking for whatever it was that the dark one was speaking about, and then it struck her, she didn't comment on it but she was sure she understood his meaning; Penguin couldn't fly. Was this a reason he was thought he was unlikable? That seemed much too cruel a fate, Tria thought, if he couldn't or didn't fly, but swam instead, would others judge him poorly? It didn't seem right.

"The bird's feathers fluffled out then, and she thrilled softly before she dipped her beak into the water, opening it and thus, silently allowing the fish the choice to trust her and hop in," a pause came within Mina's words as she frowned, no doubt fully drowned in the tale she was constructing; tell truth, a meteor could've quite easily hit the meadow or house at that moment and she probably wouldn't have noticed, "It was common knowledge that Bird ate fish for her meals and thus came forth Fish's dilema, no doubt, for though she was offering him the chance to see her and himself reflected upon the water, it could've been a scheme to get an easy meal, who knew? For Bird was a tricky one..."

If the strange adult had noticed Dark's bipolar personality 'problem', she'd not only not mentioned it, but had not acted upon it, for she seemed to be treating them as if they were the same being. After all, she liked with a strange familly, really, and had seen Magnus' and Lei's little problem; she was no doubt used to strange things, to say the least, and wasn't about to shun anyone due to them.

It just wasn't her nature. Specially not, taking into account her strange obsesion with darkness and vampires, amongst other creatures of the night. Few females had such an open, yet 'sane' obssesion with such beings... and Mina was no doubt the top one.

There came a long pause within the Penguin's words, however, his eyes fell upon th female as she talked, his grooming haulting; it was obvious he was thinking hard over something in particular, however, after a couple of minutes went by, the bird-like-feli finally moved again, passing his paw down his face in order to groom it, "Let's leave that a mistery only I know... but you can figure out in a future," a smirk marred his maw as he narrowed his eyes; he'd never been one for riddles, however, given the particular situation, he felt incluned for one, rather than telling her truth, or a half truth.... or even a lie, what with the fact she'd been right about the only female not to bolt from his side instantly.

That was something he wished to bask in, if only for a while, till she were to figure out just whom he was. After all, they all did, sooner all later, and turned away disgusted.

Almost as if reading the female's thoughts however, Oswald turned to look at his wings, flapping them once, twice, however, to no effect, "They're defective," he commented plainly, "They have no strength, and don't flap normally, the muscles and bones within them are stiff, deformed," he then paused, wrinkling his nose, as if to attempt to take importance from the fact, "However, my Dear, I don't think that's the overall reason I'm shunned for, if that's what you're wondering.... it's darker," almost as if on instinct then, the male turned his head towards the shore, which lay a mere centimeter away from him, and dipped his right paw in it, scooping up a fish out of the water, which he later caught in his maw, crunching it and effectively both killing it and marring his black 'beak' with dark blood.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 10, 2006 1:05 am

"Fish was a very trusting sort, not that he knew Bird ate his kind, but still trusting enough, when Bird's beak entered the water he swam near and placed a kiss upon her bill and then blew bubbles into his world. Had Fish known Bird's diet his would have been a very dark love indeed for he wouldn't dare approach her, to speak, to riddle, to kiss, to listen, Fish's vision was clouded in this matter. Fish continued to swim about near to Bird and her gaping maw unknowing that he was to be snatched up in a moment of hunger or sneakery."

Thus Dark's turn with the story ended
and Daisuke felt he wanted to interrupt just to pose a question to the young adult his dear friend had grown into. "Mina, what do you think I will be much different when I grow up?" Both he and Dark were shocked into silence for a long moment by the fact that Daisuke's voice had slipped through, Daisuke had wanted to ask and did without trouble.
Dark gazed up at the sky unsure who had the wheel, so to speak, the color of his eyes would tell but he couldn't feel the difference that he usually did, his gaze fell to Mina's, he had wanted to look at her, and so he thought that he was in control again, but was unsure as to what to say to her.

A smile slipped her maw as she interrupted her story to answer the question, "Well, you'll be bigger!" she chirped, "Everyone changes.... everything changes - the only thing for certain is that fact, nothing else can be taken for granted," a pause as he eyes lifted to the sky, following his suit, "If a vampire can learn kindness and even be a vegie, then it's probable you'd change too," she never bothered to explain her words, or whom she was refering too; there was no need to, that hadn't been the objective of her words, but something else alltogether, "This world's all about change... the question you should be asking is 'will it affect you if I change'?"

It was no doubt by now that the female gave deep thought to what she had to say... far from being a 'blonde' and far from being an 'airhead', Mina had by now proved with her words that she was further intelligent than she seemed or cared to voice out. After all... that was for others to find out if they wished, for she'd never liked those that gave things for granted.

With her question still hanging in the air, she took in a deep breath and kept on retelling her story, "Had Bird's intention been to eat poor Fish, it swiftly flew out of her mind upon recieving a kiss she'd not expected to get, and thus, seemed to hesitate for a moment before she scooped him up," a dramatic pause followed before she smiled, "However, not only did Bird not eat Fish, but she briefly lifted him out of the water, allowing him to see their reflection upon the water before she placed him softly back within the river."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 10, 2006 1:43 am

"Will it?" Dark voiced this query for them both, he breathed in and out and then continued with the shared tale. Neither Dark nor Daisuke had ever or would ever think Mina an airhead. "Fish felt himself lifted into the air, he never feared being eaten nor the wind on his scales, but instead he had only a few seconds to see himself and Bird reflected on the rippling waters' surface before plunging into the cold safety, 'Bird, our reflection,' he bubbled, 'is that the answer? Your reflection.' Fish wondered if Bird had ever seen his world under the water, he was going to ask her after she answered, 'Have you seen under the surface before Bird, where I dwell.'"

Daisuke thought on the answers that Mina-san had given, Bigger yes... but fully different to look at, change ... change, he pondered on this, the vampire bit passing through his mind mostly unnoticed

Dark on the other hand had caught the vampire line and wondered on it, would my grown form remind Mina of a vampire . . . I share their dark traits but no further. "I understand change, whether or not I like it is something else." This was said under his breath, probably while Mina was thinking or even speaking; if she caught it, he would deal with that and if she didn't he would still just have to deal.

Click to show."You are a confusing one Oswald, I will try my best to unravel your mystery, but I think I couldn't begin to guess at what you were trying to forget about. Can I pry a little, and ask now why you were banging your head on that tree, or is that a part of your mystery that I must figure on my own?"

Tria sat on the bank paws out, sorta laying as Penguin caught and killed the fish, she didn't or couldn't comment on his wings being defective, what could she say anyway, it wasn't anything he had done for them to be this way she guessed, sometimes feli just were the way they were, right? That he had killed a fish didn't phase her, she assumed he was going to eat it, doing that herself a time or three, she didn't blink and the blood on his maw but instead pondered her own belly, maybe she would go after a fish of her own, but she was not as skilled at catching as Oswald seemed to be, maybe she would wait till they returned to the house to find something to eat there.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 25, 2006 12:42 am

"Oh, truly now?" the words were uttured after Oswald had gulped down a bulk of fish, allowing the rest to flop down on the grass before him as he slowly pawed it her way, "Misteries are fine, my dear, but some are best left alone... some are not a good idea to plunge into less you get confussed by them," the smirk graced his maw, fangs showing... blackened with the fish's blood it rendered him a distinctly eerie aura that could just not be ignored, "However I shall happily enlight you as to my previous actions, for you are being quite the lady to me."

As he spoke, the penguin bowed, or at least, he did so as best as his body permitted him to, making him look oddly formal, and yet at the same time, almost comical, "You see my dear, some recent event revolving around a certain female, which oddly enough accured in this same spot, in this same lake, were bothering me, and so I wished to try and lessen the pain by focussing phisical pain upon my person instead of.... non phisical pain, per say," a pause, "If that makes any sense to you, I'm afraid I shall be forced to offer you a medal, my dear."

Explanation offer, Oswald turned towards the lake water, his eyes skimming the surface as if looking for something before he frowned, "Alas!" he said suddenly as he turned to her, "That is all in the past, and I can asure you that you've not only healed the phisical injury quite successfuly, but the other one I was having a fit about too, thus I thank you," as he looked down at the partially eatten fish, he arched a brow, "You may have it, my dear, I didn't catch it only for myself; plenty for two."

His eyes had narrowed at this point, awaiting a reaction like a hunter awaited for a signal when stalking prey.

At this point, the young adult seemed yo 'hummmm', almost as if taking her time to ponder the question through, then smiled, "Well, even if change is posed before me, I don't think it would affect me; even despite change, you're still you," this said, her paw poked at his chest, where she obviously phantomed his heart was, "It's never bothered me; change. I rather like it... spring, winter, it all has it's diferent things, but they're all beautiful; I don't think anything can match the beauty of a tree in full bloom during spring, and at the same time I don't think anything can match the calm and the serenity a whitened meadow can hold."

It was obvious her thoughts were sincere; her voice honest, believing every one word she uttered before she instinctively dipped her head to nuzzle behind Daisuke's ear, grooming the pelt there, as if trying to comfort him and whatever worries were haunting him, "And the bird nodded softly, 'Yes indeed', she voiced with a smile within her eyes, 'It's the reflection 'pon the water which matches our beauty, however.... I must say that no, I have never seen such a thing, for my eyes are not prepared to see under water; everything is quite blurry, yet it matters not.'"

There was a distinct pause within the tale, and Mina smiled, "The bird's tale should be continued only by the bird it'self. And the fish's tale should be continued only by the fish itself," there was perhaps a second meaning behind her words. Almost certainly there was, however, as the female lifted her head away from the kit's gaze, she laughted softly, "I think... one day I'll go stop a bird and ask it if it's ever fallen in love with a fish."

The actions and reactions of those around us, relationships, friendly or otherwise, will always be confusing I think; though I hope not always hurtful..." She stood and moved closer to the dark one, nodding her thanks at the offered fish.

Tria bowed her own frame and bit into the fish, placing one paw on the dead thing's head to hold it down, she tore a chunk free and settled back to rip and chew it.

"The past is past, live in the now. Now I'm hurting, now I'm not. It makes me think of a wolf's way of living..." Tria spoke aloud but softly, perhaps to herself. "And you say that your physical injury is healed, yet I still see a lump on your head Oswald."

The female looked at the bird feli and the dark blood clinging to his maw, he had not licked it away as she had, but left it staining his teeth and face, as she watched him a chill came over her it was a little eerie but not enough to have her running to the hills, if she knew him better, or if she was a more flirtatious feli she would of thought to wipe it away for him, but instead she made a show of licking her own maw after taking another chunk from the fish. Tria wondered minorly if he left it there on purpose, for sure there was more to dark feli than she knew.

"Oh but I'm sure it has happened, what they do about it, is the information we lack." Dark had Daisuke's head tilted back resting upon the creamy fur of his much grown love, his small form had curled close to hers and he was content, relaxed.

Outwardly that is, for inside his mind a steady chant had been taken up by his own thought voice and Daisuke pondered on fish loving birds. The shared mind had grown rather exhausted and the heat of the day urged the two to rest and let thoughts wander where they may.

Outwardly the red kit yawned a little covering his maw with a small paw. "Fish was saddened, I'm sure, he was going to ask Bird to come and live with him in his lovely little lake, for he knew he could not join her on land, or out of water for much time at all." For now the telling was coming to an end, "A fish can love a bird, a lovely bird or plain, one that sings the saddest sounds or one that sings light tunes. But to be together, what must they lose, to gain what they want."

Dark had surely lapsed into a napping sort of mind; he hoped that Mina would not take offence at him using her form as a pillow, his ears flicked at the breeze that blew over them to show that he was indeed still awake enough to be tickled by playful winds.

Whatever Oswald had ben looking for to be done by the female, it was clear she'd sattisfied him, for his eyes unslitted and the smirk turned tinto a genuine grin, less eerie and slightly more honest, all in all, "Really know?" he attempted to look up, ears pinning back as he did so, however, of course, it was imposible for the bird feli to look at his own forehead... it didn't mean he couldn't make a show of it though, "Ah, but you see," he murmured as he lowered his gaze upon her, "The bump is there as areminder that the injury is healing; without a bump, it wouldn't be healing, now would it?"

It was at this point which he slowly turned away from her and leaned over the edge of the shore, allowing his maw into the water, his paw dipping in to wash his face, for he'd managed to obtain what he wanted; whatever that might've been.

Soon enough, he emerged and lay down near her, allowing her to keep her apce as he watched her eat, tongue coming out to lick his maw free of dripping water, "You're strange.... strange lithe feli girl," he murmured suddenly, a brow arching, for it seemed it was now he whom was slightly mistified by her, rather than the other way around, "Strang eindeed, however extremely interesting," it would've probably sent a chill down many a spine a person's spine for the penguin to have dubbed them as interesting, but somehow... something told Oswald it wouldn't phase this one, "Wolf you say, do eleborate, please... I'm intrigued."

Never once did Mina blink as the kit settled himself down against her, obviously... lacking sleep. At least the young female thought so anyhow, for after all, why else would anyone want to sleep on such a glorious, glorious day, had they not been slacking sleep? Gazing down, she merely smiled however, fluffing her pelt out slightly in an attempt to acomodate him further against her chest; one of her paws lifting to be placed on his shoulder.

"Just like light can love dark," the words were breathed mostly to her surroundings than at the kit in question, almost as if she were talking to the breeze... or otherwise, the tree they lay under; after all, even nature deserved to be talked to, "Just like the sun loves the moon for her misteriousness and her own love for darkness."

And never once did Mina doubt her own words at all; all what she said was true in her mind; no one would've been able to make her think otherwise... it was unthinkable. Just like stories were true if one believed in them, the young female was sure magic was true in a sense, if she believed in it. There was no doubt that Mina believed in this, with all her heart.

Playing he was, but alas, it was out of character for him and didn't last long; the fact he'd tried to, however, seemed to linger in the air as he remain still, merely watching her, and though the his strange eys were probably less eerie than before, he still had the general air of a predator watching it's prey.

At her words, the bird-feli remain silent, the constant twitching of his ears and silent sway of his tail the only hints that he wasn't in fact, day dreaming, but listening to her words quite intently. It wasn't till she'd finished that he finally opened his maw, fangs displayed once more, "Ah, that might be true for many, but sadly, I'm a creature that's known for looking and worrying over the past a bit too much myself, so... I'm afraid I might topple that theory of yours; I live in the past," there was perhaps, a hint of sadness in his words, however, it didn't last long, and would've easily been missed had Tria not been paying attention to his movements or tone of voice.

"At any rate, it's not bad or good to live in the past or present; you need to know your past you know where you're going, yet at the same time, if you're blinded by the past, you tend to stumble a lot... it's all matter of compromising, one figures," his shoulders moved up and then down in a shrug, noncholant in fashion before he slowly stood up and walked his way towards her, extending a forepaw at her. Oswald held his paw there, as if awaiting for a reaction, "Now, seeing as how you're quite done with your food, would you allow me the honor of a nice stroll through the forest, m'love?"
