I'm a confused hormonal teenager... I will just be honest. My sexuality seriously changes day by day. Some days I'm completely straight, others I'm completely gay (of course over all I'm pretty much equal I guess confused ) I've accepted myself as bisexual.. and for some reason I'm fine with it. I guess its easier to feel okay when you're half way to 'normal'. When I have days of lesbianism, despite myself not caring at all if somebody else is gay, and my opinion of them actually not changing even the slightest bit, I get uncomfortable about considering I might be gay. It's because society has taught me it's a weird - they've created this stereotype for lesbians that I don't want to be viewed as. Normal society views people through the stereotypes that have evolved for their kind of people, even sub-consciously, and I know this. I'm not going to shave my head and wear wifebeaters, and despite myself having no problem with anybody who chooses to, it's not who I am and it's not how I see myself or want to see myself, and its not how I want others to see me either. It's sad that I feel this way, but the evolution of modern society moves so slowly, you will end up thinking things you really think you shouldn't, and can't easily explain of origin of. I like to think I have the potential to abandon all herded instinct that I have contracted over the years of my life, but the fact that others most certainly do not - and have no urge to whatsoever - will forever effect the way I am forced to act around other people. The day I find my true self with be the only day I would consider myself free from other's thoughts and opinions. I honestly don't think it's coming any time soon gonk

I think I've accepted myself, but sometimes I fnd myself doubting even that. Thinking this can't be me and maybe it's just a weird teenager curiousity. Life in itself is confusing, but straying away from the "norm" is simply adding to the confusion. Just trust yourself. You aren't part of the sterotype and you don't need to be. Be yourself

You're asking why it is people hate. It isn't sensible, it destroys a society, and yet for some reason.. It's so easy to do.
It is hard. I hate having to get on the bus and just be called "f*****t" or some other p***k a** comment. Then get to school and recieve the same. It really does kill me sometimes. But giving in, is like letting them win. And i sure as ******** wouldn't let that happen.

well i am fortunate in that most of the people that do know i'm bi are all cool with it..although i do worry about one of my very best friends..in that i think shes a bit of a homophobe because she had told me that if i turned lesbian that she couldn't be my best friend anymore(b/c she was afraid i would "like" her -_-) and it sucks..b/c shes like my sister and i've known her for 6 years..and it would tear me apart to loose her. So i'm afraid of finding a nice girl to go out with..when the truth is im more afraid of going out with a guy at the moment..and she believes that even if your bi...if your going out with a girl at that moment, it makes you a lesbian and she can't be around them she says..when that makes no sense to me because hello...if the reason shes afraid of me going lesbian is that i would like her..well first off i'm already bi which means i could have liked her anyway and 2nd of all..if im dating a girl..that means im not interested in her..so..it doesnt add up... stressed ugh...society sucks sometimes...when you are forced to act a certain way or conform to certain standards it makes everyone very unhappy. so my point being here..as im sure you've all heard millions of times: Love is love..no matter what age, gender, or race..so...why is it so hard to accept that? I think that homophobia is one of the stupidest phobia one can have, because there is no reason to be afraid of a gay/lesbian or bi person..they do no harm and believe it or not ******** we DO contribute a great deal to the world. And thats my two cents.. ~ Beautiful_Insanity
Edit:I found out yesterday she is fine with it..so long as i dont make out with a girl in front of her (which i am way too shy to do.. >.>)

I think because people aren't used to it being so out there. It was the same way with interracial marriage as well. seisha_the_beautiful I DON'T GET IT. straight people don't have to think twice about who they like, but when gay/lesbian/bi people like someone it's gross!! being gay is just another aspect of your personality, so why does it have to be that big of a deal???

Ugh. If you would like an example of how horrid they are at my school shift your eyes to this little comment.
Setting:History Class, we're going over the Holocaust and the different groups which fell under it's nasty grasp.
Teacher: Jews, Polish, French, Gypsies, Homosexuals-- Student: Psh, we should do that now.
I literally broke my pencil as soon as he said it. My teacher told me to just calm down and not concern myself with idiocy. I agree, though i don't think it should just be let by without any kind of punishment or some sort of disagreement. The teacher only told him that this was a serious topic and he was being disrespectful. I think the ******** extermination of Homosexuals is a bit more than disrespectful, it's a statement of hatred and above all what is wrong with the world. But i'm only a student. So, it dosen't matter.

Don't mind me, but this is going to be my little rant.
People are idiots. They like to think that they are better then everyone else and so they use the fact that people are different to say something is 'better' or 'right' and tend to pass this same problem down to their children.
Take games for example- as a kid eveyone probably did something to keep themselves entertained, whether it was hide and go seek or with a ball. As you know, these game have rules. All games do. When you break the rules, you are called a cheater, a liar, and you get punished. Over time children get used to this and to avoid punishment, follow the rules society has set out for them. Few people ever publically break out of this mindset, as they don't want to be pushed away by other people.
So people continue to have the same idiotic mindsets from generation to generation, and the people who are 'different' or 'wrong' suffer for it.
Consider this: if a child is starving on the streets and no one is willing to help him, is it wrong for that child to steal a loaf of bread from a rich person who eats three meals a day plus snacks? Is it truly that evil to try to survive in a world that hates you and blames you for being poor when that was how you were born? No, I don't believe so. However, because we were taught that stealing was wrong and the people who do it are bad, society tends to look down apon the poor people like the hypothetical child that I just mentioned.
This is the same reason people have problems with homosexuality and bisexuality. They were brought up to believe that not being 'straight' was wrong and that those people therefore should be shunned from society. It's the way things have happened for countless centurys, from the Nobles looking down apon the peasents because they were poor even though they provided the nobles with money, clothes, and an overall luxurious lifestyle to the Kings of Egypt who made people slave for long hours creating monuments after themselves with no thanks in return but perhaps a few tiny workers shown creating the said monuments in the corner of one.
This is also the reason people often feel confused when they discover that they might be homosexual or bisexual. The things they have been taught by society since they were a child says that they are wrong, that they are wonse then other people and that they might even carry a disease. This mindset is completly contradicted by what they feel for the other person that happens to be the same gender as them, undenyable attraction usually. This contradiction causes a lot of cofusion and reasons for secrets and lies to sprout into their lives, as they still want to fit into societies mold for them but at the same time not give up their true feelings and lose themselves.
So yes, people are idiots through and through. We are a race that cannot resist the urge to fight and squabble with each other about who is 'better' and 'worse' and 'wrong' and 'right'.
I originally told a friend who was having a lot of troubles a speech similar to this, and it made her feel better. Afterall, people are dunderheads and usually cannot ersist the urge to put others down. I decided to post this on Gaia here is hopes of helping someone else, but I know this won't help everyone. Personally I like to have a breakdown of every single thing and understand it before I can accept it. But everyone's different, and people have to deal with that someday. Hope it helped - Shigatsu-Dan
