Oqaia ((I don't have anything to respond to in this- but I just had to quote and say- awwwwww. I love the way you rp with her. It's so... sweet. ;_ wink ) ((Which is fine. I am sorta waiting for everything to get sorted out cause I'm mildly confused about which bird is available and etc.))
He got a bit closer and noted the stock: Birds. Not just any bird, either. Though he was no avian expert. He just knew they looked nice.
Annjette peered around, and downward at the cages from her perch raising an eyebrow, "Papa, papa, papa! What those? Hmm?"
Voltaire blushed a bit and shrugged jostling her a little causing a small giggle, "Rest assured 'Jette. If I knew I'd tell you. Perhaps when the lady isn't busy we can ask."
Annjette gave off a small snort but said nothing more. Can't squeeze blood from a turnip, and you can't squeeze worthwhile answers from a grownup.

Valelldia While Silver was gone, Merce marvelled over the relationship of the gypsy's children. A snake-girl... and a bird... it was so peculiar to her that the avian felt comfortable around his sister- and, more than that- her birds didn't seem particularly alarmed by the creature that was such an enemy to their eggs. Perhaps this caravan held more magic than she'd thought.
Silver returned, and held out the egg to Merce, asking with hope what the egg was. Merce took it with a gentle hand, cupping its warm base in the round bowl of her palm. With a steady eye and a tracing finger, she examined the tiny egg, saying not a word.
After several minutes of this silent study, the Enallan looked up, passing the tiny egg back to its owner.
"Well, it's not a Banya. It looks like a Binay egg. Where did you get it? They're quite rare- most of them died out a century ago when they migrated from the Sheulan to the Swamps. Only a few gypsies kept the eggs in stasis. ...Would you like me to crack it for you? I have a dormant key. No charge." "A... what?" Silver had never heard of a Binay. "Our caravan crossed paths with a quite unsavory character, an obviously dishonest trader, some time ago. I purchased a broken box from him that may have been stolen... This egg was inside." Then Silver nodded, "Um, yes ma'am, if you would be so kind... I'd love for you to open it." She looked down at her children who were contentedly examining the caged Banya, and carefully handed the egg back to the woman.

Oqaia ((The red one is still there as well- Oh, and btw- you and REmove both said "the blue and purple one" please make sure you're getting the righto one- the sea loam AND the snow crested have some blue/purple in 'em. XD)) "This one? This is a sea loam banya. Very, very durable. They are rather cryptic with their fortunes, but they sing beautifully, and can fly for extraordinary distances. That's how they get their name- it's said they can fly for so long that they could cross a sea- living only off the loam that skimmed the surface. Seventy couplets." |Yepyep, I meant the Sea Loam one since it looked like the Snow Crested had been taken already.| "Sea Loam, ye say? 'Tis a bonnie name for a bonnie bird." She looks at Rojiza, standing silently with her. "Ye think we can handle more cryptic answers?" she asks with a wink. She smiles at Rojiza's answering shrug. "I think we can," she answers herself, beaming at Merce. "Seventy couplets, though," she whistles softly. "'Tis a high price. Would ye be willin' to go for fifty for a poor gypsy woman?"

Heather smiled and messed with the coins that she had Amkia fluttering around impatiently, "Oh Amkia stop it!" She chuckled as she managed to find the 75 needed, "Here I think thats what you asked for." She had never been to good with counting, it had been something that had confused her as she had never really been taught how to. She loved these birds though, they were beautiful.

As she did, she spoke. "A Binay is a very similar bird to the Banya- in fact, it's quite an ancient anscestor of it." She positiong the key above the top of the egg. "They don't tell fortunes... so much as they cause fortuitous, even telling dreams to those near them. There, that ought to do it," she said, pressing the gold teeth into the egg with an insistant thumb- and an ancient, knowing hand. There was no way she could harm the creature inside. Not with her experience. Once the gold tooth touched the inside, the spell was broken... and the Binay leapt forth.

Thank you both. xd )) Silver watched closely, intrigued, as the trader imbedded the strange golden key into the egg. Her eyes widened in astonishment as the egg cracked, and a beautiful black, white, and green creature that greatly resembled a Banya was in the egg's place. Silver gasped. "Oh... wow. Thank you!" She held out her arm and the Binay jumped onto it, gripping with her clawed feet for balance, but never hurting Silver. She grinned at Merce thankfully, and walked past her to gather her children. "Khevashi, come here." She crow obediently flew to her shoulder. Ais turned around quickly as she realized her brother had left her side. "Khevvy?" She followed him and met her mother next to the lady trader. "Come on, Ais," Silver said, "We're heading back to the wagon." Aisrhan began to protest. She was having fun looking at the pretty birds. She was quite prepared to throw a tantrum right then and there, but she quickly noticed that her mother had a new and different bird perched on her arm, opposite Khevashi. "Mommy! You got a birdy!" The Binay didn't flinch as Silver bent down and let Aisrhan stroke her feathers. "Yes, dear, and now we must go to the wagon and prepare to travel again. Come on." Silver began to walk back to Weathered Melody and this time Aisrhan willingly followed. Oh dear, Silver thought. I'm going to need a bigger wagon.

"Sixty, ye say?" repeats Caroline for her own clarification. "I believe sixty'll do just fine." She nods decisively. "Now, what do Banya birds do, exactly, besides act as bonnie wee friends?" she asks, digging in her purse for the couplets needed.

Veshengo watched the women and Voltaire as they spoke with the trader about her flock of banyas. He seemed quite uninterested until, that is, his eye caught a bird that looked as though it was aflame. Trying to remain inconspicuous, Veshengo walked over to the banya and reached his hand out to it. "You look like a phoenix...quite stunning, really..."

Marissa approached the trade stop with a smile on her face. While she had Kale's hand wrapped in her own, she had also gotten wind of the trader, and so brought along someone special... Aryel, the creamy peach Banya, sat on Marissa's shoulders, singing something fierce. It was a happy carol, for the bird spied some of its own and rejoiced.
Kale looked around, observing the beautiful birds and some of their happy new owners. He grinned, some of his baby teeth sticking through his gums. He jumped when he heard Aryel twittering loudly, and realized they had reached the trader's stand. He was staring straight into the face of a gleaming golden Banya. His mouth opened slightly in surprise.
"Well, isn't Arrie excited to see you?" Marissa chukled, speaking to the gold bird.
