The funny thing about this is, is that I never played CoM, but I understood what was happening in KHII and I had a general idea what CoM was about. If you use your brain a little, you don't need to play CoM to understand KHII. It's actually a bit of common sense and thinking.

You don't have to, but you get a better grasp why Sora was asleep to begin with. Plus, you meet the other organization members that arn't in KH2.

I think you should, but it's not vital. Sora's memories get erased in the end of it, so it's not that important to know every single detail of the whole thing. But it is good to know who the other Organization members are and what happened to them.

I wouldn't say you HAD to play COM to understand KHII but I'd say it would help. And I found it alot of fun!

OtakuEmi I only got to play about 3-4 hours worth of CoM due to the fact that I borrowed the game and game system from my friend Cory. When the battery died, I gave it back to him to get charged, but never got to play it since. crying
But I understood KH2 rather well for 2 reasons. One, becuase I looked up all the spoilers online ( :3 ), and two because my role play group decided to RP as Organization 13, so I learned pretty quickly who everybody was and what they did.
One thing I have to ask though. Was Roxas in it at all? Throughout KH2, they keep calling him a traitor, but I never understood why. No Roxas wasn't in it
