“Is that so? Well, I suppose that makes it worth the time spent to help out. I have feathers you can tie at the end as well. I have a few still from the birds back home, they have a variety of colors in their feathers to match your beads.” Quetzal admitted as he moved to dig around through the basket that held his crafting supplies, the teen pulling out a few feathers that he thought would go well with Asterix’s idea.

“Thanks, Quetzal.” Asterix took a moment to rest his hands as his brother brought out the feathers. It was going pretty quickly and he just had a few more beads to work in before his brother helped him to secure the threads to the bottom of the wooden frame. Then they could wrap the frame with ribbons and strings, Asterix already looking over at the velvet ones that matched his choice of thread. Though talking about home made him pause, the boy looking away from the ribbons and towards his brother. “Do you wonder about where we could be going next?”

Quetzal frowned before looking down at his brother, the question catching him off guard. It was almost as surprising as how well behaved Asterix had been during their time together today. The boy was usually a lot more rambunctious and far less patient than this, admittedly. He hadn’t expected questions though and the very thought of wandering made him pause. “Not really.” He answered honestly after a moment. “I’m just happy to see the world. Why? Do you miss home?”

“So you don’t care where we go.” Asterix mused before giving a slight shrug at Quetzal’s question. “I don’t think I was nearly there as long as you, so I don’t know how much to miss it.” He tilted his head thoughtfully. “It was nice seeing the other hybrids like us in the village, but I also love our family. It’s nice to see everyone.” They had relatives in Belrea and they had their aunties and cousins here in Matori with their grandparents too. How could he be upset that he got a chance to see them all? And he was young, but even he felt a bit unnerved by some of the gazes that the pure Aishans gave them back home. Out here though he felt a lot more freedom and didn’t even worry about things like which path to follow, he was just happy to play around and enjoy the moment. “And it’s more fun exploring, so I guess I’m good to just see the world too. Mama and Papa seem to have the right idea.” He added with a grin before holding up the dangling threads for Quetzal to inspect. Speaking of their parents, it would be nice to give them something too. Especially if Quetzal didn’t mind and could help him! Their aunties too as a thank you gift for everything so far. “Maybe we can make more of these for them and others once I’m done with this one too!”

Quetzal’s expression flickered for a second before he simply shook his head. “That’s one way to see things, and seeing the world definitely gives us plenty of chances for more adventures.” He admitted with a smile, happy to see that his brother was just as open to the idea of wandering as he was. “And sure - we can make more once you finish up this one. You might just have to help me collect more feathers and paint beads later on though.” Still, he didn’t mind. It was nice spending some quiet and calm time with his brother instead of chasing after him for some playful antics.
