Asterix narrowed his gaze at the offered hand. “I suppose.” He relented after another moment of staring, the youngling taking his brother’s hand and swinging it as hard as he could while pulling him forward. “But you have to keep up with me!”

Oh my. Quielle simply shook her head as Asterix dragged Quetzal along. “Good luck with that one.” She playfully saluted as she looked back to her cousins with a small smile. “I guess you’ll have to move quickly if you’re hoping to guide us or Rixie will find his own path for us to follow.”

“Alright then.” Zoicite let out a soft sigh, the small smile on his lips still showing that he was somewhat amused despite everything, and the teen started to walk forward in hopes that he could catch up to the youngling who was sprinting ahead. “Go right!” He called out, his own hand reaching for Kailani as he guided her forward with Quielle behind them. “The cliffs along that side of the cove, not the other way!”

“I can’t show you the birds if we’re running past everything!” Quetzal managed as his younger brother continued pulling him forward, the teen not wanting to accidentally toss the smaller child backwards by suddenly stopping their momentum. “Take it a step back.” He added after a moment, finally pulling against Asterix as he heard the directions from Zoicite to go towards the right side of the cove and not straight ahead towards the center path.

Oh, they were going! Kailani let out a soft gasp as she started running next to Zoicite, the girl doing her best to keep up as they raced across the beach and towards the cliffs. Thankfully though it looked like Asterix and Quetzal were slowing down and soon enough they caught up so that Zoicite could start guiding the way through the cliffs. “Careful.” She whispered as she looked around the ground, knowing that some of the path had slick spots the closer they got towards the waterfall.

“Fine.” Asterix replied as he started to slow down his steps so that the others could catch up. What spoil sports! “Better be something amazing out there.” He added as he watched Zoicite and Kailani walk in front of them. So far it looked just like the rest of the cliffs with the ocean to the side, the darker waters not as appealing to Asterix as the crystal clear water back home in the islands. Though he supposed it was alright here especially with that ocean breeze coming through that made those trees with droopy branches and crystal leaves sway like dancing nymphs. It wasn’t too awful a sight, he supposed.

“I’m sure there’s plenty to see. You just need to be patient for once.” Quielle reassured Asterix with a soft laugh. “Our cousins wouldn’t drag us out this way for nothing, not unless they’re finally tired of you and want to push you from the cliffs.” She couldn’t resist teasing him, especially not when he made that amusing expression with his gaze widening and his lips pursing like that!

“I promise we aren’t going to push anyone off the cliffs. But if they decide to willingly jump…well, that’s another story.” Joked Zoicite with a grin towards his cousins as he continued guiding them forward, his steps only slowing as they reached a part in the path where the path did grow a bit slick because of the water trickling along some of the rocks from an underground spring. Still though now that they had been walking for a bit there was a significant increase in what had once been a murmur in the background now becoming an actual noise as the waterfalls started coming into view. “And here we are.” He gestured forward towards the crystal waters that cascaded from the inside of the rocks towards the ocean below. It was a perfect place for more adventurous types as well that enjoyed cliff diving from the edge into the calmer waters of the cove, the area somewhat separated from the deeper ocean by the small stretch of beach that went around it. It would be a lie to say that he hadn’t jumped before himself, the teen enjoying a challenge and feeling just as comfortable in the ocean as he did on land.

Quetzal for the most part followed along and only spoke whenever he spotted a bird to point out towards Asterix and the others. It was an easier walk than he had expected, that was until they reached the final stretch, but despite nearly slipping on some damp rocks he managed to keep up until they emerged at the top. “Not bad.” He acknowledged, his golden gaze brightening at the sight of the waterfalls glistening in the sunlight. “Though I don’t know how confident I am about jumping from this height.” Even if there was a pool of water below that seemed…well a bit dicier than how he preferred to be. Climbing trees was one thing, but he wasn’t the type to just throw himself from them into whatever waited for him below.

Kailani shyly glanced around at her cousins to watch their reactions. This had quickly become one of her favorite hiking spots and she loved sitting there on that fallen tree by the water’s edge to just enjoy the sounds of nature. It was always so relaxing to simply listen to the waterfalls while reading a book borrowed from her mother’s library. “Jumping isn’t so bad, if you are okay with swimming.” She managed quietly, the girl surprisingly okay with the idea since she also felt at home in the ocean. Though maybe that was because of their Kahi heritage? She wasn’t quite certain how her cousins would take to the idea, especially since they weren’t as adept in water but still it was an idea if they did feel up to a challenge later.

Okay, so maybe this was a really cool sight. Asterix bounced around once they got to more stable ground, the youngling peering at everything and anything that caught his attention. “I guess this works for a picnic.” He approved with a grin towards his cousins. “We should find a spot and then play! I could totally take that dive!” Maybe it was a little intimidating, but he wouldn’t be showing that to the others - nope!

“It is really pretty up here.” Quielle replied as they finally reached the end of the path. She was a bit slower than the others since she didn’t enjoy the sunlight or the heat quite as much which drained her energy, and so the breeze that came from the water’s edge was definitely a relief for her. “I might be up to a challenge, but only after we eat and rest for a bit.” She looked around a moment longer before finding a dry spot where she could place her travel bag and sit next to it. ‘This okay?”

“Mmmhmm.” Zoicite didn’t even worry about anyone not liking the view from this place. How could they not like it? There was the ocean gleaming down below them with the crystal waters of the waterfall itself shimmering as it cascaded down the cliffside. With the sunlight hitting the falls just right too there was even a hint of a rainbow at times, the sight making everything even more magical with the vivid colors reflecting from the crystal leaves of the willow trees that grew around the area. “Looks like a good spot to me.” He grinned towards his cousin as he took the basket from his arm, taking out a blanket that had been tucked on top of everything so that he could spread it out next to her on the ground. “Let’s set up a meal and then we can play around afterwards.”

“I really…” Quetzal started to protest before simply shaking his head. If Ellie was with Rixie then he would just have to hope somehow they both would be alright. He had some faith that Zoicite wouldn’t let anything happen to his younger cousins as well. At least that was the hope that he clung to as he settled next to Quielle and started to help her set out the food that Zoicite brought. Dried meats, cheese, fresh rolls of bread, and fruits with some root vegetables seemed like quite the variety even though he knew that some of the others would be looking for sweets too.

Kailani smiled as she watched her family gathering for the picnic. It did look like everyone was enjoying the spot and there was interest in cliff diving later. That would be fun! All of her siblings loved swimming so she hoped that her cousins would have fun in the ocean with them as well. For now though she was content just listening to them chatter as she reached for some food, the girl taking a wooden plate for herself so that she could have some fruits and cheese to nibble at.
