He laughed a full belly laugh at her comment. "Definitely not. And Myr is more behaved now than he used to be, you see he adores my wife and kids and will listen best to Terrwyn even though he is my best friend. Go figure. But I'm also glad that he listens better to her because I know that she can defend herself and he will too if I'm not there. It makes me feel good to know that my woman is well defended wether she wants that protection or not. As for my sons Myr helps them get into bigger trouble I think. Co conspirator that is what he is around them but again they are protected so I can hare off on adventures here and there training Myr's son Zyr. For this instance I needed the old man though." He slapped Myr's thick neck companionably and affectionatly.
"He has gotten me out of many tricky situations and I'm sure your three will help you out of just as many, you have three times the fire power however but I don't think you need my lecture on great responsibility. My sons get to hear it usually once a day but I think they are finally growing up now so I might ease off them just a bit."

"Well that makes me feel better." She giggled at his description. "They sure have deep personalities don't they, I really had no idea." She had three snoots to pet now as all of her chosen critters had made peace for the moment and were gently shoving each other for her attention. "This is just so wonderful." She wiped a tear from her eye, getting a taste of the good times to come. "I feel very blessed by the gods at this point, maybe pets were the answer all along and I can leave that crippling shyness over time. I know that people with familiars usually get more attention than those that don't but I think even that will be okay as I will have them with me for support."
She wrapped her arms carefully over the big red janarim's neck and after looking a tad confused for a moment he bent his head down and used his head and chest to hug her back. She giggled and what a lovely tinkling sound it was. She was very happy for the first time ever. Though she did love her birthday celebrations.

"Oh yes, I brought some treats for you to distribute, not that you seem to need more popularity with them but everybody loves food." His family included, though everyone was more than sick of his signature dish; stew. Coming out of winter promised some fresh produce which would be a good change after the boring winter turnip and squash fest. He loved pumpkin but not for three months at a time. He shuddered, spring was more than welcome to come.
He handed her the treat and watched with enjoyment as each of her new pets took the offering gently from her hands. "Touch is one thing, filling a critter's belly is a whole deeper level. The more time you spend with them, the more treats you give the better off your bond will be in the long run. I know what Myr is thinking most of the time by watching his body language. A skill earned from hours and hours and hours with each other in different scenarios, I expect you will get there too one day with this lot."

She helped Thal put the identifying collars on her critters and put halters on them so they could be lead to the barn for their paperwork to be filled out. She was vibrating with excitement not nervousness now, even though the beast following her felt very huge to her and the two Thal led just as much. She supposed this was indeed a step in the right direction if she already felt better. She wondered why it was so much easier to relax around critters than it was to relax around people. Maybe it was something she would never know. She shrugged barely and continued to lead the red janarim who had jumped a fence to save her from the antics of the other two. She was still in shock about that, the fences were high for a reason and he had apparently scaled it like it was nothing as the fence was still intact.
"How long does the paper work take?" She was eager to get them home and make sure she was allowed to keep all three. She and her sister could go on rides now.

"Not overly long, don't worry I'll fetch us another tea while we go through them. I know you are eager to head home, your Mother will be here any moment to pick you up I signalled staff for a messenger bird to be sent to her, she was just at the cafe not far from here." She looked delighted at the idea of tea and he patted himself on the back mentally for another job well done. He never got tired of this or training. He supposed he had picked the exact right path for himself all of those years ago now, jeez that seemed like a rather long time at this point.
The critters were set up in the barn, the tea was poured and the paperwork completed smoothly. He dropped them off at Viltre's paperwork lair, he thought Iorhel was there at the moment as the paper work didn't stay in the drop box for long at all before disapearing in the slot but he wasn't sure for all he knew it could be her Dad. He did know that every tamer was grateful to have the secretarial pair on the ranch because it was much less headache for them that way.
