“Oh, you give them so much credit, General.” Almadel sipped at his own cup but by the time he set it down, it was empty.

“If they had more knowledge, why wouldn’t they leave their findings somewhere easy to locate? It seems negligent, no? Maybe they knew as little as you. Maybe they were panicking to save their worlds too.”

His tail danced behind him and he poured himself another glass of cider.

“Well, I’m just speculating, of course. But you’ve come a long way since the last time they had to deal with any sort of threat like this, haven’t you? Certainly you’ve got some defense mechanisms in place. What, a giant space net, maybe? Naturally, I will help where I can. You know I like Earth. But I’m afraid I don’t understand the questions enough to give you any answers. I’ve heard stories, you know, of all sorts of things. You can’t trust everything someone tells you. Even if I have information to share, there’s no telling what’s true and what’s fantasy. Believe me when I say, there are a lot of big things in the universe to be afraid of. That, my friend, is a fact. If I were you, I’d pump up my shields and start firing the biggest weapon I’ve got. But go on, you can ask questions. I'll try to help. Just, not so many all at once.”

Thinking on what the other had said he took his time, wanting to not throw all his questions at the other much as he might wish to, he had to pace himself really. Finishing his glass he did hold it out for a refill, the stuff was good really, at least the other was up for talking and did in fact like Earth.

"Mmm, maybe they did leave informatio nsomewhere easy - just not easy for us on Earth." He could hope whoever had handled this beast would have done such, and they simply hadn't been leaving it for the people of Earth but for other beings who exsisted elsewhere in space. "Though what you say could also be very true. Can you tell me who the people were who sealed it away the first time and where they were from?" He didn't see an issue in asking both questions, since the two were tied together, if he could find out where they were from perhaps a senshi might have a tie to the planet or somewhere nearby? Maybe they'd have memories or something on their planet from this time period, whatrever period it was. Maybe then he could find out more about the spike as well? It was a jump, and that was if he could ifnd out the planet the people had been from.

"I like to think I give people the right amount of credit - that I have hope in them. I don't like to have no hope in people, that would simply be depressing."

Almadel topped off Benioite’s cup.

“Truthfully, and I mean this with the utmost sincerity–I don’t know who built the prison you’re describing.” At this, he sounded sincere, if not a bit exasperated. “Let me see the pictures you took. I don’t think that’ll mean anything to me–I really don’t go into active prisons. I mean, not unless I’m being paid a lot, and usually even then, it’s not for what you’re describing. What I do know is that you are describing a building you can’t identify, in a location you don’t know, housing something you can’t describe–I can work miracles, but even this is a bit much for me. I’m trying,” he insisted, and this much seemed to be something of the truth because he looked at Benitoite very intently.

“First, being sucked into some hidden domain–that’s not common, not without trying to do it. So there’s no telling where you went. It sounds like a pocket of space just opened up and pulled you in, so really–you could have wound up anywhere. And when it comes to large serpents-oh, Benitoite, there’s so many. And it depends on your interpretation of serpent, too! If you mean, ‘lizard with no legs’, I can still think of–well, so many. And if it has two legs? Four? A hundred? I know stories about those, too. But I could go on for days, probably, just telling stories. I still might not know anything about the one you’re thinking of.”

He leaned against the glass case and apparently had made himself comfortable, preparing for a long conversation.

“Maybe because you’re from Earth, you don’t realize how big space is. And people–and things–have been around for a very long time. Hundred, thousands, millions, billions of years.” He shrugged.

“The spike you were trying to show me–what did you say about it? Maybe I can tell you about that. Maybe. But you hold it, I don’t want to touch it.”

"I do thank you for any help you can offer, even if I gain no answers, it does give some comfort that you seem to have some faith in us. To be in space again, it is not something I ever thought I'd manage, and I do again apologize for my own unusual manner tonight. When you visit next time allow me to treat you to a meal, or something, as my treat to you for tolerating my behavior tonight." Because he was not in his best form tonight, and he knew it, once this whole mess was cleared up he knew he'd be better. The worry over the unknown would be passed and he could breath easy, he'd know his family was safe.

Smiling softly he offered over his tablet, pictures open on the screen. "You'd be surprised how common being pulled to other places seems to be. But yeah, the sky did just open up - like a tear." He was honestly used to being pulled about by magic, pulled into some small run down village with a beast attacking people, pulled into space and in a cell, then this. He'd been pulled into a tv, a black and white one no less, and than mirrorsppace...or something like that. This wasn't anything too new for him, just a different place.

Leaning towards the other, staring up at them, he nodded his head. "You are't wrong with that, I know it's true. We don't understand just how vast space is, we're locked onto one small planet with no way to travel amongst the stars. The only exception being senshi and knights, and that's limited I believe. There is no real understanding of the vastness, even when talking about how big it is I know I'm not grasping it fully." Earth seemed so distant from other life in space, there was no trade with other planets, there was no travel into space, and there was just...nothing. They just had their own empty little solar system and that was it. It was almost depressing to think about, when you thought of how much there might be out there and that you'd never see or know in your lifetime. That you couldn't just see it all and reach out and touch it.

"The pictures show a serpent with two legs." He didn't know if that mattered at all, but they could also see it for themself. He could hope it would help, at least a little bit, but the idea of giant serpents in space drifting about...that was a bit intimidating and scary but also...exciting in a way. It was something new and impossible seeming. Sipping his drink slowly, holding it in both hands, he let the other glance over things at his liesure.

"The spike..." Leaning back, righting himself, he pulled it from subspace. "I found it hovering in a room, I felt a pull towards it and a need to grab it. Something lulling, I'd call it a sirens song but without music or singing." Not sure if the other knew what a siren was, but he did assume the other could gather what he meant. "There is a galazy, or a solar system, inside the gem." And he did wonder if it was an actual solar system or just an image? Was it like men in black, the original movie? Oh! Perhaps he could show Almadel those movies, for fun, and get his opinion on them in the future. Was he seriously thinking of be friending an alien? Yes. Did he care? No, not one bit.

"If you click that." Pointing to something on his screen, "You can see the information we've gathered so far."

The Space Cauldron
Nope, not a date. But Benitoite does want to see movies and treat you to dinner when you visit next. let's be friends. Let me understand the vastness of space, and it's wonders.

Almadel had leaned in to better see the pictures, and he squinted at them as he began to scrutinize them, but again he half-turned away as if to avoid the spike as much as possible.

“You can treat me to a meal, of course. I’ll make sure you know when I’m in town next,” Almadel said, maybe in an effort to keep Benitoite positive. There just had to be a next time.

“Will you be a dear and press that button for me? Technology and I don’t always get along.” Almadel smiled sweetly but seemed quite comfortable waiting for Benitoite to oblige. As he did so, Almadel continued, “I’m afraid the pictures don’t bring much to mind. But I’ll see if I can dig around and find anything useful. It’s not familiar, really? I have a good memory and I can guarantee that I’ve never had art like that in my collection. So you can bet that this is very rare. Possibly not highly sought after, though? No one’s ever asked me to acquire a world eating serpent. You know, I have seen some storms out in space. But I suppose you already knew that. Is this prison in a storm, did you notice?”

"That sounds good, I'll treat you to dinner." Because that would have to happen after thigns settled, even he knew it meant that they would have to come out on the other side of this issue. It meant tney'd survive. Pressing the button when asked, letting pictures change for the other, he couldn't help but laugh softly. Not good with technology. What even was technology like up here in space?

"If you can find anything that would be appreciated, all of this is appreciated in fact." Even the simple trip up to space. As he looked around the room they were in, there was so much here and from all across space. He really wouldn't mind just looking at everything here properly, if given the time he might, the history to be found in this room. Never mind it dealt with space, not Earth, it was stillk history and pieces of art.

More laughter at the idea of someone asking for a world eating serpent. Whatever would someone do with such a....pet? You couldn't really feed it, not really, and how to even keep such a thing? The idea was amusing. "I'm hoping there is somewhere in space which isn't seeing storms, as I'm assuming that just shows how much power this pest has." And that was scary, but they had to survive and defeat it, he wasn't going to back away fro mthis fight even if he was scared and nervous about it. He fought so others didn't have to, to keep his family safe.

"I don't think we were inside of a storm, I could be wrong since it did seem like we hit something at some point." So a storm could have pushed them into something, that was entierly possible. "But there was a storm inside the prision...and the place shook. The storm that was inside also could have been outside..."

Almadel hummed to himself. He leaned hard on his elbow and cupped his chin in the palm of his hand while he drummed on his cheek contemplatively. “The more you talk about it, the less I understand. I almost wish I was there. But then you make it sound so scary, so no thanks!”

He lazily poured himself another half-cup but his eyes didn’t leave Benitoite’s tablet.

“I suppose I am asking a lot of speculative questions, though. I’m not trying to be difficult. You see, of the storms I’ve seen, they’ve all been a bit away from me, and I haven’t gotten closer. I thought it might make sense if what you were describing was something trapped within the storm. I mean–you see the murals?” he gestured to the tablets. “Doesn’t it look like your little serpent friend has a storm surrounding it, and then it was trapped somehow? I just assumed you were at some site of holding. But this whole thing is confusing. That spike is–you were holding it so comfortably. It doesn’t have any strange effects on you?”

"I wish trhere was a way to show you what I saw - the memories." It would make tghings so much easier, really it would, though he did wonder if it actually would scare the other. Living as long as he assumed Almadel had, longer than a normal human lived, he'd seen a lot of things and the general was sure he'd seen many scary things.

"No, no worries I know you're not out to be difficult. If anything I think I'm difficult tonight, and I don't mean to be. The storm surrounding it mightg have been why there was a storm inside the room we were in - the serpent was there but not in the same exact room."

Blinking the blond nodded slowly. "I know when I first saw it there was a pull, a draw, to it that was nearly impossible to ignore. Yeah, I'd have gone for it anyway but certainly with that pull I did. I can feel the poower it has...or at least some of it, I don't know if I can feel it all really. It feels right."

Almadel’s eyes slowly lifted to Benitoite’s. “And if I had a way to see your memories, would you show me? If I could look into your mind and see what you saw, you’d let me in? It’s a very intimate connection, two minds. But I wouldn’t mind a peek into the great General Benitoite’s recollection.”

He poured himself one more glass of cider, downed it, and then shook himself as if to focus.

“I want to help, General. You know I do. I like Earth. I like the people of Earth. Show me what you saw. Tell me what you want from me. Make one request and I will do everything in my power to grant it. For you, my most esteemed general. But ask me plainly so I can give it my full attention. I get distracted very easily. Especially when stressed. And when full of cider. And when you're near enough for me to get so lost in your eyes.”

Most people wouldn't offer up their memories, their mind, for another to view but he felt it would be far more benefical than trying to remember everything, every detail, and to explain things properly. Rather than shy fro mthe idea he jumped for it. "I'd let you see my memories of that night." Nodding his head, to affirm his words, met the others eyes with his own stormy colored eyes.

" I offer my memories of the night to you, in order to best help, so that things don't need words. You may see things I didn't think of, didn't give proper attention to, you have been around longer than I and know more as well. There may be things you notice that I would not have given consideration. I want to protect my home planet so I would like to know what you know which will help me with that. You say it needs to die.." But how to kill it? The spikes were meant to contain, not kill, he assumed killing it would be the best idea. But he doubted anyone else would go for the idea. "I doubt anyone else will allow it to be killed." Either option though meant facing it and having to handle it and it would be good to understand what they were against, what it could do. That was the best question, right? He couldn't have managed something better. It was open ended enough but not too broad of a question.

Instead of being impressed, Almadel laughed. “General Benitoite, are you trying to find a loophole? I do not think you have actually given me a clear request. I said speak plainly and you have spoken in circles, again! Hm,” he glanced at the cider, and then at the General. “Maybe I should have given you something less potent. No matter. Here, take this,” he said, and flicking his wrist he summoned two earrings. One, he put on himself, and the other he clipped onto Benitoite’s ear.

“Think of what you saw and I will see that. I will look through your eyes. But focus, General! You want to know what will help you protect your home planet? Catching this thing. Redirecting it. Trapping it. Killing it. Who cares if someone will ‘allow’ it to be killed–who is going to stop you? The great and powerful Negaverse? If you can find a way to kill it, you should. Besides–wouldn’t Metallia like a trophy? Or bragging rights, at least? If this thing has so much energy, is it not something the Negaverse can use? I thought you all liked that sort of thing. Maybe if you kill it, it’ll be a good warning to all the other things creeping around in the darkness. That would be good for me, I’d like that. Maybe I could visit more often.”

Almadel closed his eyes so he could see better, and seemed ready to view whatever Benitoite shared with him.

He had thought he was speaking more plainly but apparently not. "One more try...what I want to know most is what this thing can do in a fight, as in what powers does it have." That way he knew what to expect in a fight, to make it easier to potentially kill. It seemed Almadel was very interested in it being killed, and he could see the benefits to it. He also wouldn't mind knowing this potential threat would never become a threat again, in the future, and to know they'd done it....it would be a nice warm feeling in his chest for certain.

Laughing softly, his cheeks already warm with color, the blond let the earring be clipped onto one of his ears. "I can do thatg." Even with the drink in his system he could focus enough on that night, bring it to the forefront of his mind, it wasn't hard when it was sometghing of such need. Maybe after this he could ask about books on the other monsters in space? He might like to read those, if they were in a language he could even read.

For now though he let his eyes close and focused on the moment right before he was yanked into the prision...and everything which followed. From the darkness to when things slowly lit up. The murals and the conversations which had filled the chamber, the energy gathered, and the marks on the floor which he'd barely paid any mind to that night. The two who had vanished first, moving down on the of the hallways, than the storm and the shaking and everyone being moved suddenly. He played it all, everything he saw whether he thought it important or not. The pull for the spike, to the door and then to the object itself - to taking it in his hands. If the other could have felt his emotions the panic and nervousness was there - loads of it. But if not than the questions he'd asked and the words he'd said...his thoughts and opinions all cobbled together.

Almadel was quiet for a moment, in deep concentration as he observed Benitoite’s memories. Their minds crashed against each other like waves, only every thought of Almadel’s came in like a dark wave. He shared no part of his memory, no thought; there was only darkness.

He watched attentively, like all of his focus had been entirely devoted to seeing. When the memories ended, he carefully removed the earring from Benitoite’s ear and hummed.

“I see,” he said, but he needed a moment longer to process his thoughts. His tail coiled behind him, swaying almost leisurely.

“I see, I see,” he repeated. “Well, you stay here, hold on a moment.”

Almadel made a step to walk away, paused, poured Benitoite and himself another cup of cider, and then left with his cup. When he returned a moment later, he had a book open in one hand and had flipped to a page. The book was ancient, with pages that looked like they were made of leather. Brittle, but preserved, the colors had faded. The text was small and composed of a series of dots, but when Almadel returned to Benitoite’s side, he tilted the book so he could see.

Covering half the page was the silhouette of a creature that looked almost identical to the serpent in the mural. It was too faded to make out fine details, but like the murals, its body was snakelike sans two small arms. It had a snake-shaped head and something that might have been fins along its back and tail. The little details were irrelevant–what was most important was the depiction of a massive lightning bolt erupting from the creature’s mouth.

“What about this? It’s got purple lightning and looks like your mural, doesn’t it? I don’t really understand this text. I can’t loan you the book, I technically have to give this one back, but you can take pictures, can’t you? No flash. There’s a few more pictures, but let me touch the pages.”

Having been sipping his drink when the other returned, with a book that looked remarkably old, he set the cup down and took a moment to focus on the pages being presented to him. "I'd say that looks a good deal like what I saw. And lightening...from it's mouth. So storms won't be the only issue...it has lightening breath like a dragon has fire." Just great, not that he wanted to deal with, but at least he now knew there would be that to deal with. Pulling his datapad from subspace he took a moment to turn the flash off, because he understood the reason behind it.

"Thank you for this." He could only hope it would help, as he snapped the first two pictures and uploaded them. Nodding for the other to change pages again. "I suppose after seeing my memories you can understand my less than usual behavior." It wasn't every day you saw something like what he'd seen, and learned they would be facing it down, the fact this thing was coming for them was...a bit nerve wracking. But he was getting past that...he felt warm and comfortable here with the other, with the cider, it wasn't so bad. He'd have to find another way to get up here again...eventually. He really didn't mind this place, with all it's glass showcases filled with various trinkets and items, this was a place he could appreciate and would enjoy spending time in.

Taking a moment to look around, while Almadel turned pages, the blond could see so many interesting items. Some items didn't even seem to be made of metal, he could see the clint and gleam of crystal or some sort of stones, there was so much here.

“Yes, of course. I’d never hold unusual behavior against someone, I find it quite interesting. You’ve got very good reason to be shaken up, General. I imagine this must be quite startling. I forget you’re all so very young and have seen so very little. But, never here. Your good friend Almadel is here.”

He waited until Benitoite had taken his pictures and then very carefully turned the page again. There were two more images and more unreadable worlds. The smaller picture took up a third of one page; it showed the serpent hovering over a world; it’s mouth was open and another blast of lightning erupted from its mouth, however instead of striking the world below, it seemed to be feeding its lightning into a storm cloud below. Four lightning strikes simultaneously hit the planet.

On the other page, taking up a full spread, the whole world had been shattered into pieces. The artist had painstakingly drawn a hundred or more little glowing diamonds floating around the debris. The serpent’s mouth was open and it looked as if it were preparing to consume everything, but the focal point of the image was on what must have been an artistic representation of the world’s Core.

“Oh,” Almadel was quick to say, “but this probably looks worse than it is, right? I mean, the clouds aren’t big enough to be hiding something this big, don’t you think? But I imagine it’s still very hungry. I mean, it must be starving? Perhaps it is snacking on the way to Earth. Not like there’s much to pick at, if you ask me, but better to go for a morsel than a meal if you can’t guarantee you won’t bite off more than you can chew.”
