Winking mischievously, Myth laughed. Okay, she was definitely enjoying this. And she found herself hoping that Elaine actually would drop by the shop.
“You never know,” she said. “I might at that and when that happens, I’m sharing the credit for the discovery with you. It’s only fair.”
A quick glance at her own screen showed her that she had less than a minute left. Well s**t. Time really did fly when fun was being had. It was a shame, but rules were rules. Still, she had enough time left to rustle around in her handbag and withdraw a business card. Setting it on the table, she nodded.
“Like I said, feel free to drop in anytime. If I’m not around physically, I will always answer my phone. Unless it’s something ridiculous like 5AM on a Saturday. I might still answer, but I’d be grumpy.”
Her phone buzzed as the timer hit zero and she sighed. Then, she grinned.
“Well, that’s my time up! It’s been lovely chatting with you, Elaine.”
Giving a little wave by way of goodbye, since she wasn’t exactly sure what protocol was for these things, Myth got up and headed out. She’d enjoyed herself quite a bit and would be happy to try something like this again sometime. But for now, she paused for a moment to leave a little Heart emoji where indicated by the app.

Rowan smiled sympathetically, she had never been to Kentucky, but aside from hearing good things about the food she got the impression that it would be less than ideal for someone like her. She imagined that the backwoods would be pretty, a nice place to visit but not someplace she would enjoy actually living. “The food is pretty great here, everyone says that Kentucky cooking is delicious though.” Elaine’s enthusiasm for the local flavor was infectious. Growing up in Destiny City she’d never given much thought to the sheer variety of everything around her. “Have you been to a lot of the Indian places around here? My favorite one closed and I can’t find one that does an eggplant curry like the one they served there.” She thought for a moment, “Have you ever tried Cuban food?”

Food, being always an enjoyable topic, put a light into her eyes, although she glanced down at the timer ticking down on the app before she got too carried away. "I ove Cuban food. That was something else I'd never tried until I came here - I don't think I could even have named a single Cuban dish before two years ago. And Ethiopian - and Lebanese -" she laughed, clearly trying to avoid going off on a tangent in the limited time they had remaining. "Since the eggplant curry place is closed, you'll have to let me know what your favorite local food spot is before this app shunts us off to another table. And in exchange, since fair is fair, I'll tell you that the best Thai place I've found so far is that one with the neon green awning - next to that hot pot place - you know? Where's the best Cuban food?"

“There’s this really nice little place downtown, by that new black box theater. It looks like a hole in the wall but even my grandma likes it.” That was a worthy accomplishment, Grandma was a good enough cook that few could match her. “Their ropa vieja is Ooh, they’ve also got these guava pastelitos. They usually only last until the end of lunch. Anyway, it was really nice to meet you!” Even though the algorithm had been less than accurate in matching what they were each looking for in a possible relationship, she was glad they’d met.
