Depending on who wants to go with me, maybe CPAC in NJ... but most definitely I'll go to AnimeNYC this year. I dont really cosplay though. I usually wear apparel designed by artists and then hope that those same artists are boothing so I can say hi to them wearing their stuff :]
That's really nice of you to show off an artists works and then seek them out at another convention or even the same one the next year. I have to admit that I haven't bought any fan made apparel at a con. Something to look into.

So con plans update.
With Joann's closing and the fact I work there. I don't know if I'll be going to any con right now. If I can get a new job in the area that I live in then I'll keep all or most of my current plans.
If I don't get a job in the area I live in I'll be moving and depending on where I move to will depend on if I go to a con. If I move back to Eastern Washington I may try to go to a con or two (as I've been invited to one or two).
If I move to Utah I have two cons I'll try to go to as well. If I move to Oregon, well that will depend on what part of Oregon. If I move to Montana (depending on were) I probably wont go to a con this year.

Chibi Chibi con? Do you live in Washington? That's like a tiny one. I've only one once and I'm originally from Washington.
I will not be going to Japan Matsuri. It's kind of chaos this year because of drama (not their fault). They were partnered with Anime Banzai for the cosplay contest and well look at the con drama thread.
I will also not be going to Magic Valley Comic Con. They happened to be the same weekend as Darkness Con: Snake River. If they wanted me to go they should not have decided to schedule it the same weekend as another con who was scheduled over a year before them and Darkness Con should be bigger (population wise). On top of that Darkness Con is also a local event and I've already been recruited as a volunteer (over a like two years ago I was approached).
My current con schedule:

LOL. Plans changed again. A local comic book owner and a couple of friends are thinking of doing a mini-con in August. If they are successful then I will not be going to that one then probably Hachi Con and/or Boise Comic Arts Festival.
gaia_starCalgary Expo POW! Parade Of Wonders: Maybe? I actually don’t take the day off for this. I usually go, if I happen to have the day off. I’m also unsure of what cosplay to wear for it. Weather is usually cold during parade, but then warms up afterwards. >.<
gaia_starOtafest: It’ll be my 15th year attending, but my first year as a staff member. I’m the new Cosplay Meetups Coordinator. I plan to host Fairy Tail, Bleach, and Kingdom Hearts cosplay meetups. My cosplay plans are Natsu in his X791 outfit (Fairy Tail), Toshiro (pre-Bleach TYBW), and KH1 Riku.
gaia_starAnime Expo: This is going to be another anime con scratched off my bucket list of cons to attend. I already know 2 out of 4 cosplays to wear, which are Mammon in his Everyday Clothes attire (Obey Me!) and KH2 Riku. As for the other 2 cosplays, I have a list of cosplays to choose from, which includes Camellia Gakupo (Vocaloid), female Ardyn (FFXV), Kisuke in his shopkeeper attire (Bleach), and Shikamaru (Naruto). The remaining 2 cosplays will be based on cosplay meetups happening at AX.

gaia_star Even though I did have the day off for the parade, I didn’t go since I had some cosplay and staff stuff to finish for Otafest. gaia_star I went to my first Cupsleeve fan event, which was for Love And Deepspace. I did a closet cosplay of one of MC’s outfits. gaia_star For Otafest 2025, my confirmed cosplay (& respective meetups) lineup are Natsu (Fairy Tail), Toshiro (Bleach), and KH1 Riku (Kingdom Hearts)! gaia_star For AX, my current cosplay lineup is “You Always Ride Shotgun” Mammon (Obey Me!), female Ardyn (FFXV), Kisuke (Bleach), and KH2 Riku (for Square Enix cosplay meetup). Days 1 & 4 cosplays should be 100% confirmed while Days 2 & 3 aren’t yet. sweatdrop

I'll be doing my first event next weekend (June 20/21) and I got accepted as one of the media people for earning my badge.
I know the people putting it on and I pretty much told them that I was already planning doing a Youtube video and if they wanted use me it'll do double duty. It's not my only task. I'll also be a handler for a voice actor on Friday morning (Sean Chiplock) and I may be at the cosplay booth for a bit on Saturday morning, but I'm super excited because this is my first year doing media.

I'm planning on going to a relatively new convention for Michigan. It's called MiAnime and is at the same place that the Motor City Comic Con is: Suburban Collection Showplace 46100 Grand River Ave. Novi, MI 48374 Dates and times:
Saturday August 2nd - Hours 9am - 6pm Sunday August 3rd - Hours 10am - 5pm Here is the Website for the convention: Michigan Anime Convention
I still want to go to Youmacon 2025. Unfortunately, there is not much info on their website about the con yet.

I will when I get my competition dress done. I have the outer layer and socks done, Have two more layers that need hemming (I'm hoping to handsew), I also need to make a hat. If I have time I also want to make my own shoes.

It kind of feels like a trend. Like cons aren't releasing basic info with in three months after their last event. It used to be you'd know fairly soon after an event happens, not it like 'is it going to happen, it's been six months and no new date'.
I've noticed a couple trends at larger conventions that are troublesome at the least.
1. Organization - Lots of infighting between people running the con. As a result, there is a lot of confusion and as a result some activities, how to get tickets, access to dealers' rooms, and panels get screwed up. Resulting in times for things changing at the last minute and even getting canceled at the last minute. One example for me was waiting in line to go to the dealer's room. At the last minute they said the room wasn't ready yet to go in. 1 hr. wait turned into 3 hrs. As a result, I missed out on other things that I wanted to do.
2. Money handling - Again lots of disorganization. Things would get canceled that you paid for and it could take weeks or months if at all to get your money back.
3. A big problem arises from 1 and 2 above. Enjoyment at these screwed cons goes way down and makes people not want to go to those conventions. What happened to the magic that use to be there. It seems that some of these troublesome cons only want money and don't care about convention goers and the reason they are there to begin with
