Ika ‘hmmed’ in agreeance. She stepped close enough so that her arm brushed Quynh’s as she walked by, pausing only long enough to look over her shoulder as she made her way to the water. “I’m not a strong swimmer so you’ll have to save me if I drown.” Part of it was a quip, and some of it had some truth. With her muscles floating didn’t come easy to Ika and it wasn’t as if her family were known for staying near the water.
Not that any of it mattered. All she wanted was a relaxing evening to help her girlfriend and so when she made her way to the waters edge Ika started to slip out of her pants, leaving behind only her small clothes. Being naked was maybe a little too forward – not that she hadn’t been already – so hopefully this wouldn’t be too much of a shock.
"What are you doing tomorrow? I was thinking of putting in an order for some new blades if you wanted to come along."

"I suppose you can just hold onto me then if it gets too deep." Quynh replied, her lips curving upwards into a more mischievous grin as she untied her outer skirt and took off her jewelry in case they did go into deeper water. "I'd much rather you not drown, after all." Thankfully she had learned quite a bit about swimming while traveling, the girl taking to the deeper waters of the rivers that crossed through parts of the deeper jungle. And even if Ika was only joking? It was fine by Quynh since it gave her an excuse to stay close and hold onto her partner more. Though maybe that would also be a test of some sort, Quynh's gaze lingering without her realizing at first as Ika prepared to go into the water.
"Blades?" Quynh mused the offer as she started wading into the water. "Where do you normally get your blades? Not that it matters. I'll gladly tag along either way." She promised, Quynh happy enough just spending more time with Ika no matter where they went.

“This weird guy I know, his partner is a smith, and I like her stuff. Hybrids supporting hybrids.” Not that she would ever tell him that, but Ika did genuinely enjoy the last set of swords she’d gotten. Now she needed something with more weight and a deeper curve, especially after all of her sparring matches with the Elarians in Zinris.
“I’ve got an entire web of weirdos in Jauhar to introduce you to.” She smirked. As Ika walked into the water, the cool liquid pooling up around her hips, she held a handout to Quynh. “I wouldn’t hold it against you if you dipped.” There was a lightness in the response, but the tone held a certain severity. It would hurt, losing someone like that, and while Quynh said she would stand by her side now it was only going to get harder from here.

"I see." Well that was one way to begin introductions. Still, Quynh could only chuckle at the description. She could definitely appreciate the idea of hybrids supporting hybrids, at least. Even if she technically wasn't exactly that type of hybrid, the Aishan held nothing against them and was happy to support them too. "Well, maybe I'll find something there too or ask for a blade." She hadn't gotten new weapons in a while as it was so it could be a good thing to check it out.
"The only time I'll dip is into this water." Replied Quynh, taking Ika's hand and falling backwards at the same time to pull them into the water more. Thankfully the water was shallow enough still that it wasn't a problem, Quynh having enough room to not bonk her head on the bottom but not enough to drown anyone. "So if anything, we'll be falling into this together with a splash." She teased, her tone playful even as she held true to her words. She was not going to give up on Ika, no matter how tough it could be at times. If only she could fully express how smitten she had been with the Aishan hybrid from first sight, being together was truly a dream for Quynh and she refused to let go of something so precious so easily.

Ika wasn’t ready to lose her balance and in the process she might have squealed. The water wasn’t deep enough to send her into a panic, but the warrior was much happier to have her feet touch something when she’d righted herself. Not that it had been enough to pull the smile from her face; far from it. “See? That right there? Only child behavior.” She reached over to flick the other on the forehead, before moving into kiss that very same spot.
Unlike her mother she’d never given herself time to flirt and now that she did it was endless fun. Or maybe that was because of who she was flirting with? All Ika knew was that her smiles came so much easier with Quynh around and moments like this made dealing with the realities of their world all the more worth it.
