Cadet TenochDice: Action: Tearing up more tile, scrambling to snag some kosopods. Nudging a few with his feet towards Vyn's box of bugs. The scattering of trail mix Lysanna had tossed down was helping distract the creatures that came flooding up as Tenoch pulled more of the tile loose with Vyn's aid, watching creatures of varying size and girth spill forth around them, and out from Caelyna had been working. "Passing up a chance to spend more time with our Commodore, Vyn? How altruistic of you," his tone friendly, taking Vyn's answer in stride, took the chance to poke at the other in a familiar way, a gentle little jab, for he saw nothing wrong with how Vyn idolized the Commodore. Remembered those first days holed up in the negaverse -- in their first house together -- the Commodores sacrifice to Metallia -- to the loathsome 'Queen', in order to, very likely, spare them her eyes and ire. The Commodore had proven himself fallible in many ways, it was true. If anything? It made Lyndin more worthy in his eyes, that their Commodore was not all teflon and tungsten. He could be scratched, he could falter, he needed them all as much as he'd made them believe, and so Tenoch still chose to follow him. Found that he would continue to do so, no matter what came next. He would always be of Velencia, for it. Their home, his people. First and above all else. "I don't think I'm ready for a promotion yet...but I'll take your faith in my abilities into consideration. Maybe I'll have you put in a good word?" and Aliez's voice caught his attention once more, had him rushing to grab what crawled closest to him with a newfound sense of urgency.

Commander Andreiya Action: Finding one 10 inch Kospod, attempting to capture it by corralling it into a box he emptied. [I didn't know who was still participating, I just quoted everyone. Sorry for taking so long crying ]
Lysanna’s concerns were well founded, but Vyn was rational about it. Andreiya didn’t trust their host, and for a few seconds he let himself dream about finding something from Velenia. Commodore Lyndin would certainly be pleased if they–oh, but Tenoch was teasing Aliez about how much he liked the Commodore, wasn’t he?
Andreiya bit his lip and kept his mouth shut.
The Velencians around him were already making great progress, between planning, and implementing, and executing. Caelyna was better equipped to remove tiles but he was trying to be resourceful.
He wanted to be successful, too.
While the others worked, Andreiya diligently did the same. He was focused on his task, and while they had made progress in other areas, he still heard skittering under him. The others had tools that were helping them, or they were finding Kosopods in other areas, and he was determined to be efficient. He had an emptied box, but just as he was trying to figure out how to get to the Kosopods under the floor, they decided to make a run for it.
One burst through the tile without him interfering.
Andreiya, not wanting to seem like he couldn’t handle this–especially in front of the others!–quickly tried to usher the Kosopods into the box he’d prepared for them.
Thankfully, it wasn’t particularly big, it was just surprising–and he was pretty sure there were more still, judging by the frantic scuttling towards the dislodged tile.

Corporal Caelyna Dice: 1 - one large kosopod Action: attempting to grab her kosopod! also, Being Sad
There were...quite a lot of kosopods here. As they pried up the floor and opened boxes and found so many, Caelyna took a sharp breath. No wonder Almadel had called in so many people to help clean up; this was quite the serious infestation. And there were so many, so innocently....existing.
It made her heart lurch. Honestly, the bugs were cute, in their way; it hurt to know that, undoubtedly, in the larger room and in other storerooms with people who were far more careless, there would be an uncountable number of these creatures put to death for the crime of being hungry and nesting in the wrong place.
This world...to Caelyna, sometimes it felt like this world was haunted by it. By death. It was where Velyria had died, where she'd witnessed that awful battle, where a Chaos entity that could remove people's very souls and crush them lurked.
But she swallowed, silencing her thoughts, as she pried up a piece of tile--and finally made a hole big enough for what was underneath to emerge.
It was a massive kosopod, almost eight inches long by her quick guess, and it launched itself out of the hole in the tile and started skittering away at speed.
"One over here!" She called. "Lysanna, can you toss some of that trail mix my way? Maybe lure it towards you? The more we get gathered, the easier it'll be to round them up!"
Ordinarily, she might have had something in her own subspace to contribute--a muffin or similar that she could crumble up and toss about to lure in kosopods--but the thought of baking had felt anathema for a long time. Longer than she wanted to admit. So, this time, she had to rely on someone else.Quote: also just quoting everyone, sorry!

Cadet Rhysi Rolls: dealing with # of kosopods Currently: Yes, that was exactly what Rhysi thought. The Merchant's assigned value to the kosopods was in their absence, without showing much care as to how that was managed, other than the safety of his collection. Rhysi happened to agree strongly with those kinds of priorities. Thankfully Commander Vyn had the same thought and voiced it before she felt the need to. If Rhysi could say two words instead of three, she was happy. If she didn't have to say anything at all, even better. life was just so much more efficient when one didn't have to explain themselves. As for the Earthlings... actually, she felt that asking for them to use their semi-dead worlds and wonders as farms for the kosopods would be a rather tidy way to place most of the burden of labor on them, while the Vanguard could sit back and reap some profits. However, as Rhysi's own projects have led her to associate more commonly with those of the Negaverse, she had to admit that firstly, she wasn't very familiar with the powered individuals of the White Moon, and secondly, they might be hostile towards her, specifically, if they had such intel. Unlikely, but not impossible. Watching Tenoch bring up his blaster and use it as a weapon finally brought out the same concern and empathy others had shown toward the kosopods' wellbeing. That was a perfectly fine blaster! What had it done to be mistreated in this way? Not only was it abused, but it was misused! As...as if it were a rock! Grimacing, one hand raising weakly at the sigh of this heartless brutality, Rhysi stopped at she saw Commander Vyn's advanced weapon come out and down, her hand dropped limply to her side. This was fine. She had to turn away, but it was just to...take some deep breaths. As one had to do. To live. Thankfully, kosopods began to scurry out, a very needed distraction. Several small ones scurried past her boots and Rhysi aimed her blaster to stun one of them. It wasn't so small that it'd be damaged, right? In answer to her concern, a much, much bigger kosopod entered her peripheral vision, and Rhysi was immediately spinning toward the thing, short bow raised and already firing. Moving forward a few more steps, the creature slowed and finally paused as it remained stunned. Well, probably stunned. Moving toward it, Rhysi was lifting the thing up in her arms with quick efficiency. She nudged at a few nearby boxes with her boot, until she found one that was likely empty. Tipping off the lid, she plopped the thing down in the contained just in time to see its many little legs start to weakly move. Firmly shutting the lid, she called out, "One!"

Commander Andreiya Action: Boxing the Kospod, attempting to corral more
Andreiya did not expect the Kosopods to attack. Well–in a way he did, sure, but for some reason he had thought that they might see him and know that he was just trying to help. He thought they might just agreeably climb into a box and let him transport them safely to Earth–or anywhere else, if the Commodore decided.
The first one he found spit acid at him. It missed, but it startled him. Without much thought, he frantically scooped it up and dumped it in one of the boxes he’d cleared out.
It looked confused, but unhurt. It scurried around in a circle. Andreiya wondered if it was lonely, but thankfully it didn't have to wonder for long. Two more, smaller, Kosopods crawled out of the floor and he grabbed them, too.
The three were jostled and surprised, and Andreiya dropped a few crackers in with them. What alarm they felt seemed somewhat diminished, and though they didn't eat any, they smelled it and then scurried around and then stopped to smell again.

Commander VynVyn felt his cheeks warm at Tenoch’s teasing.
“I… I wouldn’t be passing up—I mean…” He let his mouth snap shut to stop the stammering, which he disliked immensely. Only when he could trust himself to speak intelligibly did he say, “Would you tease the Commodore the way you tease a Commander?”
He had little chance to say much else. In his attempts to corral one of the kosopods toward a box, the kosopod in question bit at his hand. Vyn squeaked and shook the pain away, then ducked to the side as the second kosopod spit acid at him. He managed to avoid it, but only just. There were so many of them now he’d lost count.
“Are you hurt?” he asked Andreiya.
Vyn nudged at a kosopod with the tip of his boot, flipping it over onto its back to expose its vulnerable underbelly. “Sorry. I’m sorry, I promise I won’t hurt you.” With a quick sweep of his arm now that it couldn’t scurry away, he managed to scoop it into the box without further injury.

Cadet TenochDice: None. Action: Aiming for the exit with what he's scooped up! "Me, tease a superior?" a tsk'ing sound that was small beneath the rocking and rumbling coming from beyond their hold, the way he made quick work of whisking what he could into offered containers before making signals with the rest to move -- aiming himself for the nearest exit that sounded like vacuous turmoil was happening beyond it. "Why I would never, Vyn." something in his smile, a softness as honest as the open palmed naked truth he offered the other Velencian, the same sort of honesty he felt he'd always given up when pressed for it -- even to the Commodore himself. How they'd started this together, and no matter what ranks ended up varried or ladders climbed? How he doubted he would change himself. "--but a friend? That's a different story." Then the world did tilt and the rest seemed far to busy to keep up chatting. Tenoch made one more sweep of the place with his eyes, to those being helped, etc. Before encouraging the use of the exit himself.
