Yanking his foot back, again, with a yelp of pain the blond was oh so glad he was dating a male - no heels. If he were dating a female and they ever had a fight..he was certain heels would be involved. He was so glad he dodged that. While he did bend with the blow to his stomach he took the time to strike one of her legs with a fist before straightening himself.
“How does he play things, if it’s different. So I can follow along?” So he didn’t get lost and not understand what his partner was doing, he didn’t want to counter anything he might be saying or doing. It was best to ask Melody anyway, since she knew how everyone else did things as well as how her brother would approach things. At least he was thinking of the temptation in the room that would be walking all around, he would even check in and make sure Aloysius didn’t need air or anything - to get away from it.
“I can handle my….family. I don’t have any desire to talk to or be near them. So I can ignore them, as I doubt they’ll want people to know about me anyway.” It would make them look worse than Melody had already made them look, as he had no doubt she’d brought them down low enough. So long as they ignored him as well all would be good, which he assumed they would ignore him. If they did start he could go for playing the victim - which he was. “If they start anything, which I doubt they will, I can play the victim and perhaps find a way to mention how the Sharp family has made me a member of their family despite my….less than perfect upbringing, which was due to being abandoned?” It wasn’t something he’d normally do, playing the victim or working to make someone look bad. But it would work if he absolutely had to.

Stumbling at the blow she shuffled back and scowled. “It might be different now but back then he had his head so far up his own a** and people wanted to kiss the ground he walked on.” It was frustrating because of how easy things had been for him and how he only showed up occasionally and was carted around like a trophy. It made sense but she didn’t like it one bit and it grinded her gears at how he got whatever he wanted from people.
“If only they knew how rotten he was.” Because there wasn’t any other explanation and it’s what her mother had told her. Prickling more she huffed and threw another punch at them, it felt good getting some of it out. “I’ll point out the extended family of yours to avoid and keep an eye on them going around Aloysius as well.” Because even if she didn’t like her brother, she needed him for things to work out. The main source of the business was only still around because he’d been taught how to make instruments and how the long history of her family was tied to music as far back as things were recorded. Even if she felt like there had been some sort of deal with a devil for her brother to play so well even while stewing in liquor.
“Thrown to the wolves, you worked hard and pulled yourself up from poverty and made something of yourself. The fact you sing just adds another reason why people might understand how the too-perfect-to-be-doubted Aloysius fell for you.” Even though the actual story was far different from what she’d gathered and what Liam had told her. It was more that Liam had pulled Aloysius out of the muck than the other way around. Everything about it stood against what she’d seen and known which was why she was always so bothered by things. It was like watching a ghost, a shell of a person, and seeing wisps of the past that she was still very much mad over but couldn’t really confront.
“You don’t need to play the victim though, you’re better than that but a sad story is good in the right situation when backed up with a tale of persistence.”

He was certain Aloysius knew how he’d acted back then, he also was certain the other would not be the same…not really. He might still show some of that, he wasn’t sure how they’d be in a social setting, but he was certain it wouldn’t be exactly the same - he wasn’t the same person any more. Catching her hand as she tried to punch him, at least it wasn’t the heels again, he pulled her in close before suddenly shoving her back as he hoped to catch her by surprise and throw her balance off.
“That would be good, I wouldn’t know extended family if they stood there talking to me.” And he really would like to avoid them - all of them. Whether they’d been part of the harassment or not he’d very much like to avoid them, he wanted nothing to do with them…good or bad. The idea more might be there, that there was more family members he’d never know about bothered him but also..it didn’t. It was their fault for not finding him, for never looking, they’d had to have known his mother was pregnant with him and than what - no child? They hadn’t questioned it and hadn’t looked. It didn’t sit well with him.
“Ok, so I’ll work on finding a balance for a story and when and where to use it. But the music helps, though that was far from planned. It seems to just be a rather odd coincidence, especially since you figured it out before your brother. Though I hadn’t ever been caught singing by him…you caught me, because I tend to sing when doing chores around the house, and told me I was good.” He’d always figured he had some skill but never anything worth mention. He just sang in the shower or for the little ones when they had nightmares, or when they asked. He’d now taken to singing for Aloysius when the other asked.
If he could learn Italian, something he’d told his partner he wanted to know, he’d learn to sing in Italian too.

The shove had her nearly falling but then she decided to try something the other couldn’t do and teleported. Appearing behind them she threw her shoulder into his back with the momentum of her still half falling. They’d probably both end up on the ground still but it was still good practice for her as she was getting the feel for what punches she could do with that extra bit of strength from the promotion. “I’ll email you a list and photos of them all so you know and have them on your phone as a reminder if you want. They’ll avoid me like the plague but it’s best fro you to know just in case they approach you or Aloysius. I never told him so unless you did he probably doesn’t know most of it though who knows what he’d say or do.” Probably nothing unless they tried being a patron or sponsor of music, something she’d witnessed him sizing up after recitals while accepting flowers and things from the audience.
“Exactly, find a balance and commit it to memory. Also, it’s not surprising I found out first, you said he’s always working anyway so he just wasn’t home to find out. It used to be the opposite growing up, he never left home though I really never knew why other than probably he was practicing or working on learning how to make instruments. Other than the few social events and recitals she only saw him leave their home a few times since he’d had a tutor at home much as she had. It was odd but it didn’t matter much to her really.
“You are very good, it might be fun to sing at some point together for an event maybe a charity. It would look good for everyone involved.” Something she could probably get them to drag her brother to under the guise of performing on stage to raise money for schools or the arts.

Surprised, shouting as he was elbowed and felt himself falling, he was propelled by the other falling and the force of it. Falling he threw his hands out to try and catch himself, to brace his impact with the ground. That would be good - to have pictures. To know what those other family members of his looked like, Melody seemed to be able to provide him a lot of things he needed, good thing. He had mentioned it to Aloysius, though not everything, and he doubted his partner had looked into his birth mother and the family she’d married into…the family she was a part of. It would likely be a good idea to talk to him about it, to let him know everything, before the other went to any social events - just in case. It would be safe for them both.
On the ground, sprawled out under Melody, he was staring at the grass for several moments before turning his head to the side. “Make it a big charity event. I’ll get him to go and I’ll sing. It’ll look good for him being at such an event and it’ll be a good cause.” He’d let Melody find a good event to do this at and he’d get Aloysius to join them. He was certain he could do this.
Turning he rolled the other off his back as he moved till he was laying on his own back on the ground. Panting softly, this hadn’t been that bad, a nice work out.
“I’ll just have to learn whatever the song is. I’ll manage the tune…that’ll be the easy part.” And with Melody and Aloysius he knew it would sound good - it would look good as well. “You can pick the clothing event. Now, food? ”

Hitting the ground sucked but at least she had Liam to break her fall. She was pretty surprised he managed to catch himself but then again he'd been working out a lot lately, something she really was surprised about considering how they were.
"I can do that, I have a few ideas already. The rest is true too, he does recitals still but a charity event would garner him a bit more positive publicity." Not that the fact they were a professor and a volunteer tutor for an after-school program for children. It was a great way to keep up an image but she wasn't really sure why he'd done all that.
Rolling onto the grass, she made a noise and pouted at being in contact with dirt. Powering down, she sat up and stretched. That was good enough for now at least. "I can let you know that all ahead of time and pick out something nice for you to wear. You look good all cleaned up so we can toy around with some other nice clothes for events. But yes food, let's find a new place again and see what they have to offer. Something with noodles I think."
