Halley stood watching Ilmare as nothing seemed to happen, or so it seemed. At least to start and suddenly. . . Halley watched as Ilmare stumbled backwards and started groaning before the other huddled up on the ground.
Halley was looking confused, "It might help to talk through it?" She suggested as she watched on concerned. She didn't want to get too close to Ilmare or she'd go to comfort the other as they struggled with the attack.
But she could tell her magic was perhaps less fantastical and more nightmare driven. The youma she'd used it on had been more confused than scared but that could've also been because it didn't understand what was going on.

Doing her best to remain as unmoving as possible, Ilmare lifted her head and eyed the other senshi warily. She was never going to assume any form of magical attack was a joke from now on. She could still see cracks lacing the ground around her, but they seemed to be fading slowly enough. So she was just going to stay where she was, thank you so much!
But… talk through it? How would that help? Still, it wasn’t like she had many other options unless she wanted to listen to the dulcet sounds of snapping bone.
Shaking her head gingerly, Ilmare decided a few questions were in order.
“Can you see or hear anything when you throw that bad boy out at people? Like, I couldn't see what you saw when I used my magic. Is it the same for you when you’re the caster?”
If her voice shook a little, she figured no one was going to judge. And she was starting to think that Halley’s magic and her own had the potential to be quite terrifying. And that was a thought that she wasn’t sure she was happy about.
“Asking because I can’t move or I step on a crack, y’see,” she added. “And I keep hearing bones breaking and snapping everytime and it’s honestly a little nerve wracking since I like my mom…”
She tried to laugh it off, but the sound that came out was strangled and hoarse.

Halley lowered herself to a crouching position as she watched "I cannot see or hear anything."
She frowned a small bit as she listened to Ilmare talk about the attack, so stepping on a crack. Halley was interested, maybe more research needed to be done into her attack. "I see, that's interesting. I wonder if it's different depending on who's hit by it."
The frown became deeper and she looked more concerned when the other tried to laugh it off. She was debating, if they both used their attacks on a common enemy what would happen? The senshi was debating on bringing it up but figured it might be better for another time.
There was a pause, "It should be over soon I think." Halley wasn't completely sure how long the attack lasted but it couldn't be any longer than Ilmare's she assumed.

Still huddled, Ilmare carefully raised an arm and gave Halley a thumbs up to show she’d heard and understood. Part of her wanted to be deeply offended by Halley’s interest in what her magic did, but she couldn’t. Not when she’d been giggling over the other’s antics when under the influence of her own magic. If anything, this was a comeuppance for being cocky and laughing at other people.
“I’d say it’s a fair assessment,” she croaked, lifting her head up enough to note that the cracks around her had mostly faded. Not enough for her to feel comfortable moving, but at least they were going away. “Please remind me to never, ever get on your bad side because that sucked all the a**.”
Sighing a little, she allowed her body to relax slightly, testing things. When her movements didn’t cause a cacophony of breaking bone noises, she relaxed further. About the time Halley told her it would be over soon, the last of the cracks on the ground faded completely. Throwing herself backwards, Ilmare lay on the ground for a moment before turning her head to give Halley a serious look.
“I’m sure this’ll make me a traitor to say, but please, never ever let yourself get recruited by my side. I feel like it would turn you into a complete terror and I’m not sure the world is ready for that. Oh my god,” she groaned again before sitting up. “That was awful. Between my magic forcing people to trip balls and see who knows what and yours we could really ******** up some peoples’ day. Or retire from this senshi gig and run off to become sexy bank robbers.”
The last was said with a hint of a smile, showing that Ilmare was already recovering.
”LP” if combo attacks ever become a thing, I heartily vote for and request ilmare and halley team up lol

eldritch stardust Ohohoh if combo attacks did happen that would be quite fun imo. I think it'd end up being #teamnightmare. Halley nodded when Ilmare said it was a fair assessment. She gave a half hearted smile when the other said not remind them not to be on her bad side. "Yeah, I wasn't expecting that sort of . . . uh - magic? I don't know what I expected but it wasn't that."
The senshi blinked, "Oh.. yeah I couldn't fathom what the chaos would do to my attack. . ."
There was a chuckle, "Yes we could really ******** some people over, I do hope we'll team up against common enemies." There was another chuckle when the other suggested sexy bank robbers. "Ah, Bank robbers. . . I feel like that'd turn into something movie worthy."

It took a few more moments for Ilmare to fully shake off the effects, but soon enough she was feeling mostly sunshine-y again. Still, she didn’t really try to move from where she was seated. Sometimes, emotional stuff required physical rest.
Or that was the excuse she was giving herself anyway.
“Bad things. They’d do bad, bad things,” she answered. Ilmare had a sense of gratitude to the Negaverse for finding her and giving her a safe-ish place to be. She even liked her job when it came to just patrolling and learning things. But some things like energy draining and the idea that they were the ones in the right didn’t sit quite as well. And then there was the fact that she’d had plenty of interaction with people on the opposite side who were just, well, people! They were nice! Helpful, even.
Honestly, it was all too confusing. Easier to fake being a badass and slide under the radar for now. Though she had a feeling that arrangement couldn’t last forever. If asked, she was going to only say that she’d fought another senshi to a standoff and hope that would be enough.
“Hey, I’d rather work with you than against,” she replied earnestly. “But bank robber is a total possibility! You can write the tell all book and I’ll negotiate the Hollywood rights. Everything culminates with us becoming fabulously wealthy.”
”LP” Do you want to wrap this?

eldritch stardust Yeah I think we can call it done with this post or your next if you want to write an exit. Halley frowned as the other said they did bad things. "That's terrible."
Halley nodded, "Same, I'd rather work together as well." With the mention of she could write the book and Ilmare would negotiate the hollywood rights, "Sounds good to me!"
Halley stood up, "Well it's late, before we attract any attention I'm going to head off." She grinned, "I hope we can meet again soon Ilmare!" The senshi of superstition gave a small wave.

Ilmare felt a little wave of warmth in her chest as Halley said goodbye and that she hoped they could meet again. It wasn’t often that happened and she treasured it when it did. Tilting her head back, she grinned at the now standing senshi of superstition.
“Right back at you! I’ll be happy to fight in your corner anytime, Halley! Hope you get mad views on your next upload!”
Following suit, Ilmare pushed herself to her feet and waved at the other senshi. Then, keeping in mind Halley’s words about drawing attention, she jogged off. The last thing she wanted was to bring Halley into some General’s crosshairs!
”LP” awesome ♥ thanks so much, lp! This was fun!
