So then this one had met others, or someone had, and the knowledge of their fallen worlds had gotten out. It was one lie he couldn’t tell and use in his favor,m as he’d been trying to do, he didn’t like that. He didn’t like that word was out about himself and others like himself, that their worlds were dead, that just looked bad for them all. As he had to take several steps back to escape the point of the blade under his chin, he didn’t like being backed up like this, the ancient senshi looked like an angry fox - and he was.
There was worse than chaos, he was certain of it, but he’d not seen it and just because there was worse didn’t mean chaos was good - it still needed to be dealt with. As he left, backing up and away, he gave another tap of his foot and called on his magic. “Freeze up.” And then he was turning and leaving. He was covering his escape to make sure they didn’t follow - let them deal with the glazed over ground.
Watching the senshi leave, good riddance, Katya moved from the generals shoulder to Kafka as she leapt off of one and onto the other. “Are you alright?” She spoke softly, reaching up so nose at him gently, she was worried about the other. This could be a lot and this wasn’t even a fight really but the words, the accusations, everything being said could be a lot to handle for someone so new to things.
“Ignore what that alien said. They are just aiming to hurt with words because they can’t fight a general and win.”

Reaching up as Katya nosed him, he nodded in response because he wasn’t really up for much talking right now. He’d stepped back away from the general as they’d mentioned such violent ways to deal with the senshi. It had been so casual, almost as if it wasn’t worth his time to manage things himself.
As the senshi left and sent more icy rain around them, he waited until they’d cleared the alley and were probably far enough away before he moved. Taking cautious steps forward, he retrieved his bottle and took a deep gulp of wine from the thing as he tried to make sense of this all. It could have been worse, he’d experienced worse, but this was a bit of a rude awakening. Turning to face the general, he tried to remember the name Katya had called for when she’d sent out the call for help. His free hand fidgeted with one of the shorter locks of his weird asymmetrical hair. “Thanks.” It was a short mumble as he walked back toward the dead end of the alley to take a seat on one of the closed trashcans.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unphased by the look of anger on the senshi as they left, he flourished his weapon and dismissed it after they were out of sight. Watching the corrupt go and retrieve whatever bottle they’d thrown he flinched at the smell of alcohol as it was opened. It wasn’t the same type of liquor he’d been drowned in before things had changed but it still sent that tickle in the back of his throat that asked for just a sip. It would never be just a sip though and he knew it so he waved his hand in front of his face to try and dismiss the thought before focusing on the mauvian that was trying to settle down things.
Stepping back toward the dead end, he didn’t sit but chose to stay standing. It smelled terrible but that was probably because it was just before trash pickup when things were piled up and festering. “Sorry about that, you come from somewhere else I guess? European of some sort? Are you alright?” Warming slightly as he spoke, the words were softer and much less sharp than they had been with the senshi.
Looking over at Katya, he gave her a look that let her know he was curious as to why she’d called him. Not that he minded aiding people but it was odd. “I can bring you home if needed or somewhere safer than here at least, both of you. Just let me know where is best.” Patting the corrupt’s shoulder carefully, he didn’t want to startle them.

Smiling the mauvian settled around his shoulders, gently nosing his cheek and patting him here and there, as he had a drink and sat himself down. “You did well Kafka, you really did. That was just one senshi who will not be swayed and will be hard to deal with.” She spoke nodding her head as they were joined by the familiar long haired general. She knew he’d be curious why she’d called for him and not the general she lived with. It was best she answer, because she didn’t need or even want to conceal the reason.
“This is Kafka, my general's partner and other half. We were hoping to not involve Benitoite, so he doesn’t know his partner is training in secret, you know how he would get if something were to happen - like tonight.” While Chalcanthite was cold, and rather to the point, Benitoite was cold and blood thirsty and would have killed that senshi without thought or even hesitation. He’d have made a mess and poor Rene would not be powering back up ever again, she was certain of it, it also might damage their relationship to see him so easily kill someone and clearly enjoy it.
“This is the reason my general decided to turn up at your home and attempt to bang down your front door before dragging you out. He was being…stubborn, if you will, and has finally yielded to his own wants and desires as well as that of Kafka here. He’s not likely to go beating your door down any time soon, he’ll be too occupied with other things.” And if he tried to do something that stupid again she had no doubt Rene would drag him back home, if Lorcan didn’t get to him first.
“I was hoping you’d be powered up and available to help us out so I didn’t need to let Benitoite know about these training sessions until Kafka is more comfortable with things.” And she was pleased that Chalcanthite had been available and had come to help them both.

Looking up as the general came over, they seemed to change quite a bit and it made him feel less skittish. It seemed that the coldness was more for the other senshi than anything else. Between their questioning and Katya explaining bits and pieces he blinked in surprise at the fact Alexandre had gone and bothered them in that period they’d left him behind. It sent a small smile across his face at the thought of his small partner dragging this giant out of their own home.
“I’m uh... Sorry if my petit ange caused you problems. It’s true I’m new to this city, well this country, and even newer to all this.” Speaking slowly to make sure he was clear with his words, his accent was still a bit heavy from the stress of everything. It was so easy to just lean back to what he was comfortable with but that really wouldn’t work without anyone here that would understand what he was saying.
Unscrewing the lid from his bottle, he took another swig of wine before he continued answering. “I’m okay, just… I think things backfired. You said you know how to fix it. Is that true or was something said to rile up that senshi to get them off me?” Either way, it had worked and he was glad this was over as his face warmed from the fact he’d swigged half the bottle already between the two hits he’d taken from the thing.
“I think maybe I should tell him but… what do you mean how he is?” Questioning both the general and Katya with that because he really knew mostly what Alexandre was like during normal things. “I think depending on that… his home or my shop is where I want to go.”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A look of surprise flashed across his face as he looked over Kafka. Chalcanthite’s hand moved up to adust glasses that weren’t there which ended up being him nudging a loose strand of hair out of his face as he took in what they both said. This was more than interesting considering how things had gone with that spar. Another swig of wine and the smell of it brought that tickle in the back of his throat so he coughed to clear it and tried not to think about the alcohol and how they were already looking a bit inebriated.
“Understandable why this is all new to you then, my sister was in a similar way when she came to join things. I did indeed assist in fixing the matter so I can look into helping you as well though I am certain that the matter in which things get fixed may waver between individuals. No two people are alike and such as it were.” Waving his hand as he spoke, Chalcanthite shifted between his feet as he thought about a few ideas already. He’d need to know more but now was not the time.
“Benitoite… is a good general but I do not follow the same methods as it were even if we are from the same branch. However given this situation, I would have reacted similarly to him if it was my partner. Though I do prefer to try and pull them over to the correct side of things, there is safety within the structure of the Negaverse and I would prefer adding newcomers to the ranks if possible instead of numbers to the vital statistics report.” The other general’s methods weren’t for the weak and it made more sense why he’d been called. It was a situation he wanted to keep an eye on as he preferred people who talked first or at least weren’t jumping into the fray without a plan.

“No, there is a way to work on your magic. Chalcanthite helped his sister and brought Alexandre and myself along for it. So he can help you as well.” Wanting to assure Kafka that Chalcanthite wasn’t lying about that, that help was available for his out of control magic. She was smiling as the general continued where she left off, taking over and explaining things, she would for now perhaps prefer Chalcanthite helping Kafka with his magic. Alexandre would worry if he knew the other was powered up and going out like this, with uncontrolled magic, and he would be working himself up trying to fix the others magic. At least Chalcanthite was calmer than her own general was and that was needed more right now.
Laughing, she couldn’t help herself, the general described Benitoite very well all the while saying it as nicely as he could. He wasn’t wrong though, not even close, if she had called Benitoite here things would have gone very differently and she wasn’t sure Kafka would benefit from it at all.
“Indeed, Benitoite is a good general, very good, but not every new officer is suited for him. He is…intense.” She spoke softly, as honestly as she could without saying exactly what she meant. “You know Alexandre well….he is order giving, not taking, and it comes through more as Benitoite.” She spoke softly. It wasn’t a lie but it was a hint at what was really there…what lurked in the background that came out when he was powered up.

Kafka had an inkling that there were things there, beneath the surface of Alexandre and now it was more apparent as both this general Chalcanthite and Katya danced around things. The fact that they had killed a senshi recently came to mind and he started to connect the dots while twisting a hand in his hair. “I would like the help, to fix things. Maybe it’s alright to keep this a secret as long as I don’t get hurt right Katya?” There would be no hiding it if something worse happened but maybe he could lean on this general and that sister who had shared a similar experience.
“Back to my shop would be better, I need to figure things out. Would it be ok for me to contact you through the tablet or maybe via text? I think I may take a bit of time off of this, just a few days in case that senshi is poking around here again.” He’d have to figure out a different area just in case and then that also meant Katya would be spending the night in his shop maybe.
“Thank you for not killing them.” It came out quietly, the realization of what would have happened if his angel had been the one called settling in. He wasn’t sure how he’d handle witnessing that even if he’d seen a lot back home. Sighing, he took another, smaller, sip of wine before dismissing the bottle away and standing back up with a slight stumble. “I think it’s time to go to sleep.” Just lie down and try to unpack all this new information and seriousness in the morning.
—----------------------------------------------------------------
“Of course, I can be reached either way. I spend daylight at one job and evenings at this one but I always have my phone with me.” Pulling a card from subspace he offered it to them, one of his business cards he had modified that had the family emblem and phone number but no other information. They’d become a new thing of his to give out to those whom he was actively assisting or recruiting. His phone was always on him and with the ringer on, not just because of the aid he offered but because his partner wasn’t able to reach him on his tablet while he was out, and if it was longer than two hours the usual method they used would expire. Even now he sent a few thoughts and images over about this predicament, he’d go home and let them know about this interesting situation.
“I will gather some information together for you to look over on your tablet, I can make sure that I use layman’s terms for your ease of understanding. Otherwise, you may reach me at any time though some nights there may be a delay in my responses as I may be a bit tied up.” Stepping forward he put his hand on the corrupt’s shoulder again and nodded.
“Just let me know what street to drop you off at and I can get you there, you need to rest after being hit with your own magic.” Pausing for a moment, he offered a smile. “It is a pleasure to meet you Kafka and think nothing of it, I prefer not to bring harm to others even if the words and tone I use may lead others to believe otherwise.”

“I’ll stay with you tonight.” Alexandre would assume she was with Lorcan, and wasn’t likely to ask his cousin about it, so he wouldn’t know where she was or what she was doing. It would keep this all a secret from him until Kafka was ready for him to know what he’d been up to. Hopefully by then he had more experience under his belt, enough for the other not to worry too terribly about him. “Alexandre won’t know a thing.” She assured Kafka, nodding her head to the general, she knew Chalcanthite would keep the secret. He had no reason to go telling Benitoite what was going on, at least not yet, and they’d keep it that way.
Katya would, once Rene was in his bed, talk to him some more and get a feel on things. She did hope tonight hadn’t been too harsh on him, nothing which would turn him away, he didn’t seem like he was going to run from things yet though. She wondered if he’d figured out just how dangerous his little angel was though…
