Hissing as an elbow caught her gut, Saiph doubled over and coughed, marveling that the other girl could laugh so freely. Did life mean so little to her? Was there some key to things that Saiph herself was missing? She didn't even know anymore.
You're so ********' sad. Well, yeah. No s**t, Sherlock.
"Being a failure generally makes people sad," she muttered. After a moment, she looked up and blinked in shock. The other girl was just smiling and watching her. And... letting her go? Just like that? Bewilderment was plain on Saiph's face as she moved to push herself to her feet. Suddenly the officer was willing to stop fighting?
"I do not understand you," she said. "You or the scary maid senshi."
The chibi clearly didn't trust the officer's sudden willingness to let her go, but was happy enough to take whatever out she was given. Backing up slowly, keeping her eyes on the other girl, Saiph waited a few moments before turning tail and bolting, counting on the speed boost that being powered up gave her to escape the crazy, smiling girl.
She might be a coward, but she had tried. She'd failed, but this time she'd tried. She wish that knowledge helped her feel less terrible.
