The healer felt her belly and the water woman's hands glowed with magic, sensing for the second life within her.
"Aye ye are pregnant congratulations, all seems well, best tell that handsome fellow ouside before he grinds hims teeths to nubs. Men do that when they worry about the woman they love ya know." The woman was old and wise and well versed in these things her family always came here when Einsol or Nin were not available. It was the only other place she trusted enough to come to in her condition.
"Aye I will tell him, thank you Nana." That was what everyone called this ancient beloved relic of the age when Oba was at war with Matori, Kechiri didn't know her story but she did hear the rumors that the woman used to be the healer for oban nobility. She gave the woman the coin and a substantial tip for the good news. She kissed the old woman on the forehead and left.

"So what was the verdict?" He asked trying not to look too impatient but at this point the world seemed to be brighter than it used to be and he could already hear the pitter patter of little feet. His child, their child, their family, their future, his everything between the two of them. "Did she say how many?" He was mincing back from foot to foot but came closer to hug her, he just had to be touching her to hear this news. If it was negative he would be devastated, though it meant more practice in the trying and that was never a bad time.
A wind picked up, bringing with it the classic floral smell of the mainland.
"What do you want to do, were do you want to go now?"
These were all very important questions. All of which he was eagerly awaiting an answer too. He was pretty sure that his blood pressure was at max at this moment.

Kechiri smiled up at him, love shining in her eyes. "She didn't specify how many, but we are in fact pregnant, though I knew that already and so did you. This just confirms our suspicions. As to what I want to do I don't want to go home yet, I want to hold off going home for as long as possible. I want to continue our fun away from my crazy family until we are close to the time then I will go home and have this baby on the ranch as the gods intended, as much as I would like to have him or her on the island if something went wrong without a healer and supplies present, well I would prefer not to think on it." She was sure she would get no argument from him after all. It was her or the baby that could be lost should things go bad.
She inhaled the sweet aromas of home. "We might do with a good restock of supplies though, no crab."

He danced around with her, "Ahaha no crab!" He was so happy that he picked her up gently and twirled her also gently. "A restock we can do, to the market!" He clapped his hands at the three snaptrotters, the janarim and the radaku that were all patiently waiting for instructions.
Just then her two kinfa flew in to rest on the janarim's back. "Well hello you two, keep it quiet that we are here eh?" Though with this many beasts most would assume them to be aligned with the beast tamers anyway, besides Kechiri was a well recognized face. He hoped that they hadn't been spotted by any of her family yet. There were one or two that seemed to know an awful lot about the goings on everywhere in Matori and beyond. it was disconcerting to think that they might be watched and their secret might not be so safe.

"Aye to the market and fresh non island food!" She was excited because she could get pre cooked hot food right out of the market stall, she had noticed that she was more hungry now that she was feeding two.
She hopped up on Undine and he carried her along. The soothing gait of the janarim rocked all the nerves out of her and she enjoyed watching Raolvar and how proud he was as well as the hustle and bustle of the townsfolk. They had been islolation for so very long and she loved it. But she also liked her fair share of people watching as well.
It reminded her of being on her ship. She missed her crew but not as much as she thought she would. Maybe being a mother would be the bestest new adventure they could have.
