A laugh erupted from her at the mention of it being hard. “Eh, it can be sometimes. A lot of the Alks that live in my village were the extremists that were kicked from the mainland.” So their views of things tended to shroud the new age thoughts of the younger generation. “We’ve managed to escape a lot of their baggage though.” After all, Alizeh was the third generation of Elaria to be bloomed.

The extremists? He’d learned about them in school. They weren’t exactly the most friendly bunch, even to one another it had seemed. The war from back then had been mostly the extremists against the world but there had been some Alks that had stood with and fought side by side with earthlings. Those were okay in his book. But to learn that there was a whole other race of Aishans that had been raised by extremists had him frowning. Was that something the world should be concerned with? “They aren’t going to like.. Start another war, are they?”

She paused in her walking for a second to stare at the boy as he asked the question. She had forgotten for a second that the experience the earthlings had was entirely different from her own kind and so it threw her off a bit. Eventually she shook her head. “No. We’re all fairly content to live where we are. A few of us like to travel but we prefer being close to our mother Tree.” She shrugged her shoulders at him. “My sister and I only came over here to help a young earthling to find her home.”

“Good to know.” He’d stopped with her, searching her face as the minute ticked by. From what he saw he could tell she was being genuine in her answer. “Well.. I can say that you are more pleasing to look at than the alks. Their yellow skin clashes with a lot of things.” He gave a firm nod of his head before he started to turn and head off again. But he paused. “Thank you again for escorting me.. And for the lesson.” It was good to add to his worldly knowledge. He could certainly write home about it.

Now that got a full belly laugh out of the Elarian. “Well at least I know I look better than an Alk.” She didn’t see anything wrong with their skin color but she did suppose yellow didn’t go with much. “Thank you for the compliment.” She nodded her head at the boy. “Be careful making it home.” Since they had gone far enough she figured he should be safe to make it the rest of the way to wherever it was he was going on his own.
