Kanika 6
Kanika was glad that Pyanka had been quick, it wasn’t a discussion she wanted to have with her mother. She was glad her mother wore the bracelet even if it did clash with everything she wore. One day, Kanika swore she’d get her to wear something else than red and black.
“Not to bother you, but are we waiting for Lumi to eat? I smelled cooking when we were inside.” Her stomach was rumbling a bit, she hadn’t taken as many supplies for the journey as usual. She’d been too eager to leave to see her mothers to pack properly.

Pyanka 6
Pyanka’s smile could not grow any larger than it currently was. Her grandmother was wearing it!
“Yes, I made it with some help from the Kahikians that were passing in the village.” They’d been merchants and had had the tools to help her craft it together into a style that matched their own. She hadn’t been very good at it, to be fair, so she’d been glad for the help.
“Food sounds really nice!” Kanika had given her all of her snacks, but she knew her mother was probably a lot hungrier than she was feeling. She wondered what kind of food they’d be eating, Zandala seemed to have a different style than her mothers and the Kahikians.

Zandala 6
Ah so she’d gotten help, well at least all hope was not lost. Pyanka could still take up a weapon if she wanted to.
“Ah yes of course. I’ve got one of your favourite dishes on the fire. I can get you some bowls”
Zandala stood up and headed back inside to the kitchen area that currently had a large pot over a low fire. Inside was a stew with many of Kanika’s favourite flavourings from back home. Things were a lot different here, but Zandala liked to grab things from back home when the Merchants came in. She grabbed two wooden bowls and filled them before also grabbing two spoons and heading back out.
“Here you go,” she handed them the bowls and went back inside to get one for herself before settling by the firepit outside their home.

Kanika 7
It was hard to hide her excitement as she saw the contents of the bowl. She loved this stuff, but they were all things from back home.
“How did you get this?” She said between mouthfuls. She was happy to settle and eat a bowl or two of the stew while they idly chatted. She really liked this kind of family relaxing. She was going to have to get Enya and Pyrrha to come next time too. She was sure Zandala would love to see Pyrrha too. It was going to be a great few days, Kanika could feel it.

Pyanka 7
Kanika didn’t cook and they always worked with what they had back at home, but this stuff. This was amazing! Pyanka had never tasted anything like it. She really liked the idea of merchants spreading things like this around to different parts of the world. Someone in Yael could eat something from Belrea or someone from the Mainland could eat something from Kahikina. It was so fascinating! She couldn’t imagine the kinds of things they saw on their travels too. Pyanka thought that was a wonderful way to live.
Pyanka ate the stew while quietly listening to her mother and grandmother talk about the happenings, sometimes she answered a few questions but she was happy just listening.

“When the merchants come in, we sometimes make special requests. I try and get herbs and plants or vegetables from Yael. It’s expensive but I hunt a lot for the trades and it’s not like we do this all the time either.” It was nice to get a taste once in a while or keep ingredients for special events like these. She wasn’t the best cook, but this she could make with her eyes closed.
“Lumi should be here soon, she’ll be happy to see you both.”
They continued their small chatter while waiting, catching up on how things were going back home and here.
