He was too close!
No ******** s**t he was too close; he was trying to grab the thing this stupid girl was trying to attack! Diesel didn't know her magic, but she should've. She should've used her ******** eyes and the knowledge of whatever her spells were and seen that it would hit him too! But that implied that she would care that she attacked him. Why would she care. Why would anyone White Moon care if their magic 'accidentally' hit an unintended target.
"No ******** warning?" Diesel spat back. "No 'back off so I can hit it?'"
No apology.
He was still squinting through the remnants of her dazzling abilities as Diesel turned to glare at her. The creature was gone. He hadn't caught it, and the girl said they'd scared it off. Maybe she hadn't been all that invested in catching it to begin with. It was just a convenient excuse to assault him. And now there was no dragon, and he could barely see, and it was just the two of them standing in the snow.
It was no great leap of his imagination to think something else might be going on here. His fists were clenched tight as his sides, long rainbow hair fluttering as heat flickered in his palms with the threat of his own magic. The little dragon was gone, so his question might have been toward how they were going to get it back- if it didn't sound so aggressive. "So what are you gonna do about it."
