Quetzal nodded, thankful that Tsisia had agreed with him despite her current frustrations. He knew that he could play along and react to her pranks, but there was a stubborn part of the boy that didn't want to give into such things especially since they did truly bother him. So he stayed firm by keeping a cool exterior even now as his sister gave him that pointed look. He understood her intents, but gave it no mind since he knew it was just another way to ruffle his feathers...or rather a warning that he probably shouldn't trust her to pull him up from a cliff if he was ever falling.
"Is that so? Probably Sisters trying to deter others from playing around during high tide." He glanced up at the sky, his gaze narrowing at the bright rays of sunlight before quickly looking away once more. It didn't look like it was time for any of that, it should be perfect timing for exploring the cove without worry. "Just try not to slip and swim out too far." Quetzal mused with the faintest hint of a smile before going past his sister and leading the way through the familiar trail that emerged into the small cove that they often played in. Crystal waters lapped at the shore, the hint of another isle in the distance, just a small stretch of land that was mostly sand, and several tidepools were scattered about that they could explore for clams and the like.

Tsisia pursed her lips and followed after him. Even if she did slip, which she wouldn't, she was a strong swimmer. The little youngling bounced on the balls of her feet across the path until it got a little slicker and she needed to keep better footing.
"We should have brought Shrimp; he would have loved it." Their father's alol always seemed brighter in moist areas. He was happy enough back home, but there was just something about being surrounded by the water that gave the little thing a jolt. "This girl in my training class said she'd never even heard of an alol."

Quetzal smacked away some lingering vines, the plants almost acting like a barrier before they could emerge into the cove itself. "Shrimp would have, as long as he made it back home with us." He commented after a moment, somewhat afraid of losing the alol and upsetting their father. "I suppose they're not normal here." He reasoned, crouching before slipping down a slight incline of large rocks so that he could quickly get to the sandier area of the cove.
"Maybe we can bring back some alol one day." Their parents always talked about traveling and there was part of Quetzal that was curious about what the rest of the world had to offer. Their mother had family all the way in Matori which was apparently also by the ocean, the youngling already intrigued by how different two ocean countries could be. They didn't have alol here but surely they had a lot of creatures here that didn't exist overseas as well, so it would be an experience for sure.

"Do you think he would have run away?" There was something in Quetzal's tone that made her wonder. Was Shrimp a runner? Honestly she'd never seen him anywhere, but on their father's shoulder. When he left his cage it was usually to sit on Siel's collarbone, or to scuttle on some rocks nearby him. Maybe it was better that they'd left him back home.
"Do you think we'll actually come back? People leave all the time and they don't." Elder Sasasoo's daughter wife had been gone for years now and she'd yet to come back.

"Not sure, but he's never gone here without father before." That much was true and Quetzal was not one to take risks, not when he already had to be constantly on his guard for other trickery. His only hesitation was when his sister asked the follow-up question, Quetzal nearly stumbling at the idea. This was the only home he had ever known. It was hard to imagine the world outside of it even with the stories from his parents. Didn't he want to come back? Quetzal shook his head. "People also return though, maybe not everyone but still." He replied finally. "I suppose we would have to see what's out there first and what our parents decide, right?" Not that it was much of a comfort, but he was willing to push the idea aside since neither of them truly knew what the future held. Quetzal was content just taking it one day at a time, seeing where things would go.
