Oh, Juniper is a Loatoa.” He smiled. “They are commonly found in Sauti but a few breeders sell them in the markets.” If the boy was interested in one then he was sure that his uncle could easily get his hands on one. Oba had a breeder of the creatures. He was sure there might even be one in Matori.

“Loatoa.” He repeated the name and filed it back for later. He’d be asking his mother for one. Juniper was every bit as soft as he thought. And rather adorable when he got scritches. “Are they hard to train?” He was wanting to know if it would take his uncle a while to get the beast to be cooperative or not.

“Hmn, no. I don’t think so. Juniper took me only a few weeks of working with him.” He tilted his head as he remembered the training he’d given his own familiar. “I still work with him on newer tricks but he’s pretty well tame now.” And since he’d gotten him from a breeder rather than the wild it was easier.

“Perfect! I’m gonna ask for one.” He grinned up at Lynx. Since Juniper was so nice and soft he figured he could get his won and enjoy a full time companion. “I think I might name mine Jensen.” It was inspired from Lynx’s own beast. The ‘J’ name just kinda fit.

“They make good companions.” He nodded his head at the boy’s choice. When he suggested the name he’d use Lynx had to chuckle. “I’m sure your familiar will love it.” He couldn’t exactly judge anyone on their name choices. He had a janarim named Banshee.
