He was thankful that Lynx seemed to understand what it was he wanted to know. So he watched. It made him relax a bit more when he realized he wouldn’t have to talk that much to command his mount either. A look of pride hit his eyes when he noticed how easily the beast listened and moved.

He’d already been told that the kid didn’t talk much, and since he had a selectively mute sister he didn’t mind. “When you’re riding you can use the same sound to get him going just tug in the direction you want him to move. So left and a click means he’s going left. Same for the right.” He explained. Since this was a mount to be ridden he needed to make sure the boy understood how to control him.

“Thank you.” He looked from the mount to Lynx then back. Deciding he wanted to try it he moved back a few steps and made the clicking sound with his tongue. He worried it might not work with the pitch or being a different person. It also made him nervous to know that such a simple thing could get the beast to move, what if a stranger did it and took off with him.

He watched Zale move toward Jiu with a look of approval. “When I trained him I made sure to use clothing with your scent on it too. So he knows who you are. I put one of your shirts in his nest with him so you are going to be his comfort zone.” It was done to ensure that the two bonded. Usually he would have to tell the person how to do it but since he wanted to keep the kid safe he’d asked for a few items to speed things along.

Zale making his way over to him was the highlight of his morning. Hearing that the beast was already partially bonded to him by scent made him look up at Lynx with a bit of surprise. So that was why he’d been told to sweat in a shirt and hand it over. He instantly put his hand on his mount’s head and gave him affection. “Good boy, Zale.” Praise could go a long way too.
