It was a great long fight and he was exhausted by the end but there was no way he was going to give up the fight.
He dragged that fish in eventually, hauling the massive body up into the air, he was grateful they had gotten extra strong line.
"This we might have to bring back to the village to share eh? And ask them what the heck it is."
It did look delicious though.

Now that the beast was up, it was quite long, and heavy enough that they probably wouldn't be able to use Ushiruin's rod again after this. "What a monster, well done laddie, that will set us up for a while, you should stuff it after we harvest all the meat from it, would look great on the wall."
It wasn't everyday you got to see a fish so magnificent. "Its unheard of."

He was ready for a nap in a way but was way too excited to fall asleep in the near future. He dispatched the magnificent fish and said the hunter's prayer over the limp body. It was green and spotted with black jaguar markings down the length.
"It better be edible, I will be so mad if I killed it for nothing." He would feel quite rotten indeed if that were the case.

"Well let us make our way back to town so we can find out!" He was gleeful, hoping perhaps that there was some sort of reward for this kind of thing. "We will grill up the little one and makes some rice for energy." He started to shimmy back down the trunk with all of his stuff. "You will have to lower it with a rope I think it wouldnt be good to drop the poor thing."

"Yes, lets do that." His stomach was rumbling anyway. They managed to get the fish down, had their food and trekked back to town.
As it turned out the fish was very rare and very celebrated and he got a great wall mount made from the best artisan for free. It would bring the village good luck that such a fish was found.
