He thought about that for a minute and he saw the logic behind it. It made no sense for a business man, or woman, to put their clients in danger. Even if it was years later. “You have a point I suppose.” The boy nodded his head. “What about asking one of my uncles for help?” They hadn’t been clients after all, just related to one. Was that also out of the question?

She cringed a bit. “Your uncles are a bit on the wild side.” Perhps unhinged should have been the word she used to describe them. Still, she could see how the boy would offer them to help her. “Its alright, I promise my work isn’t that much this time.” At least, it was no more dangerous than all the other jobs.

As she told him that her work wasn’t too much this time he nodded his head. “Alright.” With the offer to help her out turned down he had no other reason to stick around. “I’ll be going then.” He motioned in the direction she’d been coming from. He still needed to go to the shop and pick something up.

“Yeah? You be careful then.” Sarnai stepped to the side out of his way so he could walk past her. She had every intention of watching where the boy went before she disappeared around the corner. No because she didn’t trust him but because if he somehow didn’t end up where he was supposed to be then she would know where to start looking.

As she moved out of his way he nodded to her and started walking again. He didn’t pay any mind to her after that and so he was unaware that she was watching his every move. Jiu was blissfully ignorant of his temporary guardian as he made his way to the shop. The item he’d ordered was now in so he was more focused on that than anything else.
