Nuke tries to plant his feet and lower his center of gravity to keep Salem from reaching the ropes and breaking the hold. But Croft showed his strength as he slowly inched his way there, both men feeling fresh in this match.

The crowd was raucous as Salem fought towards a corner, trying to get a rope break, it seemed! But as his feet were within stepping distance, Salem would instead go up the buckles and twist on the ropes, trying to untie his arm from behind his back and launch himself at Nuke with the other one for a sudden Clothesline!

Damn, it looked like Salem was getting out of the grip, that wasn't in the play book. He must have been taught well in his years coming up through the ranks. "I guess it might be time to clock him" thought Nuke to himself, as he threw his forearm at Salem..
Wait, Salem came through as well, and connects, sending Nuke to the mat!

Salem springboarded off the ropes, still tethered to Nuke by the wrist, and ate an elbow as he came in with a connecting Clothesline of his own! Both men traded blows after the series of twists and turns, knocking them each on the mat! Salem cradled his jaw as he rolled on his back, feeling his teeth rattled from Nuke's counterstrike!

Nuke shook his head as he laid on the canvas, looking up at the lights above. He smiled to himself, Salem had definitely been taught well, and was matching him blow-for-blow. The crowd gave their appreciation with a chorus of cheers, and a chant rang out across the arena.

The ref ran over to check on both men, and soon got back to his feet, as he cleared them both to continue. Nuke was working through a concussion, and so landing on the mat had taken it out of him just a little more than he usually would.
Going back to his youth, he readied his muscles and rolled back just a tiny bit, springing back to his feet with a kip up!

Salem chuckled as he shook the pain from his head, listening to the crowd appreciating their work! Hearing the chants and applause, Salem knew that "The Show" had to go on, deciding to snap back to his feet with a kil-up, turning to see Nuke on his feet in the same way! Rubbing his chin, Salem smirked at Nuke as the crowd started roaring with enthusiasm!

The two men stood shoulder to shoulder, facing sideways and looking at each other. The crowd roared again, their appreciation for this technical showpiece really on show.
Nuke nodded and walked backwards towards the center of the ring, offering another fist bump to his former student.

Salem shuffled his feet to loosen his body up after the series of intense exchanges, finding his way back to the middle of the mat to return Nuke's gesture of sportsmanship! Holding his own hands up this time, Salem reciprocated with an offered tie-up of his own!

Nuke smirks and is happy with the mutual sportsmanship here, not to mention the reaction that the two favourites were getting from the crowd. Accepting the tie-up at first, the Magnum Opus looks to shift immediately in to single leg and get something locked in!

Salem takes the lock-up in stride, but is surprised as Nuke shoots in for a takedown, scrambling to try and sprawl his hips back and avoid it as he fights with Nuke's grip to keep the vet from getting leverage on his vertical base!

Nuke was rather impressed by Salem's defensive maneuver here, but it wasn't quite enough, as he managed to get a hold of one of Showtime's ankles. Lifting up the foot of Croft, Fusion was about ready to try and wrench that leg off his body.

Salem only half managed to avoid the takedown, Nuke's wherewithal letting him pick one of Croft's ankles as he abandoned the single leg! Immediately "Showtime" seemed nervous, knowing Nuke's affinity for ankles, and tried to hop on his free leg and swing it over for a kick to the side of the God's skull!

Veteran instincts were key at this point, almost spidey-senses kicking in, as Nuke Fusion notices the quick kick coming his way and ducks underneath. Almost as quick as the kick attempt, Fusion looks to transition in to a crossface, really trying to keep the pressure on.

Salem managed to get his ankle free, despite not connecting with his kick attempt! However, he now had Nuke on his back sinking in a crossface to torque his jaw even further, aggravating the contusion from his earlier elbow! Wincing near the middle of the ring, Salem struggled to try and crawl toward a rope!

Nuke had to take control of this match, and soon. Whilst he wasn't exactly aggravated or annoyed by the lack of control, he also knew that it could be key to whittling down Salem and getting the victory in this match.
Fusion shifted his body weight, trying with all his strength and might to keep him where he is, ready to get that submission.
