He shook his head when she asked him if he found anything of interest "No, I did not, that was more of your mother's specialty" he chuckled fondly remembering the days when Akea and he did so much treasure hunting together, but that part of his chapter was over; now their main focus were raising their girls to be young lady's and teaching them to skills necessary for them to survive on their own, the real world was a difficult place with challenges that they needed to face as they grew.
He blinked and nodded his head "Yes, let's go make a sand castle and afterwards we can have our picnic and do some fishing if the food in the basket isn't enough" he said before making his way back to the beaches.

Auali'i followed her dad back to the shoreline and waded out of the water shaking the excess water from herself before going to grab her beach pail and shovel and going back to where the water meets the sand. She shovelled some wet sand into her pail and made sure to pack it tight before flipping it upside down on the side and tapping on the bottom gently to not break the mould. She pulled the pail up carefully and checked on the moulded sand she had and was relieved when it stuck. She handed the pail to her dad "your turn" she said.

Akiliano took the pail from Au and shovelled more wet sand into it and made sure it was packed it nice and tight. He moved closer to the one Au had made and flipped the pail over putting his right beside her but with a small gap between the two.
They repeated the process two more times to make the four pillars of a castle and then piled up sand between the pillars to make the walls. After a while, he sat back and watched Au add more details to their sand castle. He was feeling nostalgic because the girls were growing up too fast and he was starting to miss the age where they would have fun with their parents. But, at the same time, Akea would tell him, not to worry about it they will always need them.

Auali'i finished putting all the final details on their sand castle before noticing that her father was watching her. She sat back and tilted her head to the side "Are you okay Daddy?" she asked him. She frowned a bit at his expression it seemed like he was thinking about something. She leaned towards him and gave him a hug "Our..sand castle is done" she told him showing him their completed sand castle.

He nodded his head once Au had asked him if he was okay "I'm perfectly fine, sweetheart, I was just thinking that you and your sister are growing up so fast" he said. He looked at their finished sand castle "Well, I have to say I really like our sand castle" he said with a smile. He gave her a snuggle "Let's go eat our picnic, your mother and Vaia might be worried something happened to us" he said.
After a while, they ate their picnic and laughed before they packed up their stuff and started to head home. It was a long day of fun in the sun but it was worth it in the end and hopefully one day they could do it again even if the girls were full-grown. Akiliano himself knew that their twin girls will always be part of their lives and would always be his and Akea's priceless gifts.
