As they walked to the village her senses her filled with cooked fish and a variety of spices, mind you she was not well-versed in the spices of Matori or at least not as well-versed in spices as Pule was but she knew the basic spices that every Matorian used in their cooking, mainly because their dads cooked with them a lot and the scents were familiar to her but the majority of scents she got she wasn't familiar with. She looked at her sister "I can see why you chose what you did" she said.
She sat down across from her sister before she took a couple of bites of her meal and looked around at all the vendors. "Hm...that is a good question, I am not entirely sure where to start" she said trying to think of anyone their family knew or anyone who was willing to answer her question. All the vendors seemed like they were willing to answer her question but right now she wanted to have a full belly first before tackling her career research.

She hummed in pleasure at the taste of the food, grinning, "Cooking is an art, sort of like magic. You mix things together and the heat builds it up to a whole new taste. Then you pull in things from other regions and it's endless possibilities!"
She was babbling and caught herself, this was about Hu'al, not her.
"Well the vendors here are a lot of merchants. We could go to the fishing grounds or even find people who tame animals..."

She giggled lightly as Pule started babbling on about cooking "Well, then I think you are where you need to be" she said before taking another couple bites of her meal and swallowing her food before she said anything else. "That definitely does sound like it's an art, but I wouldn't say it was my kind of thing".
"hmm..once I have a full belly I will ask a couple of the vendors and see what their answers are and then we can make our way towards the fishing grounds and I can ask a couple there and then we can see if we can track down a couple of people who tame animals and see what they say." It looked like it was going to be a full day of her and sister walking around Matori just so she could conduct some career research. That was the one thing she liked about Puleleitte she was willing to help her out as long as she needed to, she couldn't say the same for their brother.

"It's not for everyone." She said with a smile, "Some people are better at eating than cooking." Especially those in her family, or the friends she's made these days.
As they finished their meal, Pule stood up and brushed off her fingers before looking around.
"So we've got the fishing vendors, and then there's a blacksmith and a toy maker. Maybe we skip the fisherman since you weren't as excited about that?"

She nodded her head agreeing with her sister "I agree with you there" she said, though she couldn't say much about her friends, she didn't have many. They probably are more eaters than cookers.
Ha'ulili wrapped up the last bits of her meal and looked around as well "I think that is a good idea" she said being a fisherman didn't quite intrigue her as much as it would others, she tapped her chin with a finger thoughtfully before looking over at the blacksmith in their vicinity "We...should start with the blacksmith, and then go ask the toy maker" she suggested.
She stood up and let out a small stretch before standing beside her sister, hopefully she was prepared to spend the entire day with her to narrow down possible careers that she could do.

"Ooh a Blacksmith, eh?" She asked playfully, imagining her sister being in the heat of the smithy when she was so attuned to water. Not necessarily a bad thought, and Ha'ul would look cute with a little dirt on her cheeks after a hard day of work.
As they walked over, she waved to a smith who was selling items.
"Sir, could you tell us why you decided to become a blacksmith?"
The Matori man looked down at them in surprise before a friendly smile crossed his face.
"Well it runs in my family, we're the oldest smiths in town," He said with pride, "I've been working since before I could walk. I just knew it was my job to continue the legacy, plus I love making things. It's a lot of work but rewarding - both in trade and in experience."

"NOT in that way Pule; I'am way too young for that sort of stuff" she said with a smiled lightly at her sister's playfulness. She wasn't sure if she found blacksmithing as something she would be into, she was more comfortable in or around the water then she would in a hot smithy. She shook her head lightly at that thought but listened attentively when the blacksmith they were talking to explained why he chose what he chose.
"I see..I see...so it was more of continuing the legacy of your family" she said thinking about it thoughtfully. She then took time to look at the items he had made and picked one up taking a bit to study it, could she see herself as someone who could think outside of the box when it came to making things in a hot fire. She put the item down in its spot, no she was not a person who could think outside the box. She nodded politely to the blacksmith "thank you for your time" she said.

"Thank you." Puleleiite said as well, nodding before tugging her sister along, "Next up, toy maker. Mostly working with wood and knives than the hot smithy."
They approached the toy shop that was busy with a few kids, but the kind woman noticed them and walked over.
"How can I help you two?" She asked gently.

She allowed Pule to tug her along to the toy maker vendor, looking up at the nice woman that approached them despite how busy she was with other kids around. "I was just wondering, why did you choose the career you chose?" she asked the kind woman. The toys were distracting but she was on a mission. She chuckled lightly knowing that their brother would automatically get distracted with all toys. She brought her attention back to the kind woman that was speaking to them.

The woman smiled at the question, "Well, I started making them when I had my children, and when they got older I gave them away. Everyone was interested so I worked to make more and it took off. I enjoy the peacefulness of carving and painting the wood. I hope one day to make some for my grandchildren, but for now it's a hobby that makes people happy and that's why I love it."
Puleleiite made a loud awe sound, "That's so sweet!" She said brightly.

Ha'ulili listened attentively to her reasoning and nodded her head as she spoke "That does sound sweet" she said then thought about it for a moment would she find joy in making toys for others, that career also required her to think outside of the box and that was something she struggled with too, as she spent her days playing with her siblings and her nieces, she did wonder how much thought were put into them, but at the same time it required the maker to be creative and she didn't see herself as that. She was more of color in the lines type.
She looked up at the kind lady "I appreciate you taking some time to speak to us" she said, she frowned some more. A part of her still wanted a career close to water she looked at her sister "mm..shall we make our way to see if we can find someone who tames beasts?" she asked.

"Thank you!" The other girl parrotted, before nodding toward her sister, "I think there's a beast tamer at the outskirts of town. They have some beats from Oba. Let's go!"
As they raced through town, the sun continued to move, and lunch was over. Most of the adults were back at work, and the younglings either napping or in their nanny classes. The two quickly made way to a home with pens, the noises and smells of beasts filling the air. A large creature was being trained outside, and they approached a pair of hybrid Obans/Matori who were doing it.
"Excuse me! Could you answer a question for us. We're trying to learn why people chose the jobs they have."
The one who was not directly taming the beast nodded, his red hair stark against his blue skin.
"That's an easy enough question. I love animals and want to be with them. To learn about them and protect them. All animals deserve a safe life and I made it my job to give them that."

Ha'ulili quickly nodded another thank you to the toy maker before rushing after her sister, it seemed Pule was more excited to go see beast tamers than she was. She giggled lightly and kept pace with her as they rushed by adults working for the rest of the day. She stopped as they came to a home with beast tamers with one of them taming a large creature outside, she stopped and watched for a few seconds. Before coming up behind her sister and before she could ask the question herself, her sister did it for her.
She tilted her head to the side as she listened to the answer, I mean beast taming could just be it, she could be one that tamed all animals but had a fond love for marine animals. It was both exciting and adventurous and like her sister said if she tried it and didn't like it she could always switch it. She looked back at the person who was speaking "That sounds like a very admiral reason" she said to him.

The other girl noticed the interest shift in her sister and stepped a little back to let the two continue the conversation. Maybe this is what she needed, a little hands on observation to see what inspired her. They really didn't get much chance with animals, though they were all around. It could be fun to have a beast tamer in the family to bring animals around.
The man smiled, "A lot of animals get hurt in the wild, or their owners aren't able to take care of them. So not only do we train them, but we help fix up the ones who are hurt and release them back into their home."

She nodded her head as the man spoke looking towards the beast that was in the process of being tamed every once in a while but keeping her attention to the one speaking. She frowned a bit as he explained to her that animals got hurt in the wild or belonged to someone but were neglected. Hearing that about beasts, pulled at her heartstrings and made her sad "That's so sad, but it's good to know you guys train them and help them along their recovery" She said. She tilted her head to the side perhaps if she liked enough she could build an animal sanctuary and help the cause.
She thought for a few moments and she was pretty sure there were no beast tamers in her family so could she be the one that did a career that was completely different from her family's careers?
