Before he knew it, Nimueh was diving into talking about his children, then his grandchildren - things that he'd always passively wanted to tell her, some day. How proud he was of all his children, how they were all so unique and different and beautiful - how he hoped they'd grown up happy.
Unspoken, but clearly understood between them, was the 'happier than him'.
Finally, he went quiet and just looked at her, his heart feeling... good. Finally at rest, after all these years. It still felt strange, like talking to a ghost - one who was unexpectedly well behaved and not combative like he'd always expected her to be.
"I don't live in Jauhar. We... don't really live anywhere, but... I don't want to return to Chibale ever again, but I do want to see you."

Really? He did? Elsheba's expression softened, heart reassured. It would have been enough, she thought, to get this update and then part ways forever. But it wasn't what she wanted, not really. That he wanted to visit was... good to hear. "I can move outside Chibale, if that's what it takes." She said quickly, eagerly.
It might help, since she'd already met Ujiri away from the isle; and she could always visit home easily enough, to bring supplies and do her part for her sisters.

Well. What could he say to that? Nimueh smiled, still somewhat withdrawn and careful, but... happy. It felt like a gaping maw of an untreated wound had been cleansed, somehow, and could finally start to heal. ... But, that healing still needed to happen, and he wasn't about to invite her to join his family on the road or... well. Introduce them just yet.
He could only imagine what Callum what think and say, if he heard they'd reunited.
"... Well I'll... I'll look for you, the next time we come through the area, then." He agreed, eyes crinkling a bit as he smiled.

Elsheba nodded again, smiling back. There was still tension between them, but she was okay with that. It... hurt in a lot of ways, to not be able to follow him or get closer, but he was establishing a silent expectation of distance that she would respect.
She could only hope that when they parted ways, he would actually come to visit her again.

Nimueh wanted to... but not yet. As they got up from their tea though, he did reach out to briefly clasp her hand again, giving it a firm squeeze before parting ways. He could, at least, give her that one piece of reassurance that he actually intended on following through and seeing her again.
