“Can’t say I wouldn’t like the practice, especially if you want to linger.” Replied Sini with a small smile, amusement dancing across her features at the teasing. “I still am interested in learning more about knives, if you’d like.” She added as she reflected upon their last conversation after she had nearly been eaten by menzuri. It would be nice to know how to toss a knife and even better if she learned from someone else so that she could surprise her guardian later. After all it wasn’t as if she could explain her new burning desire to Rek without worrying him more! Ah, yes. I just wanted to learn how to toss some knives so that I don’t end up becoming a snack for menzuri again. Talk about never letting her out of his sight if he heard about that one!
And speaking of those devils…Sini let out a playful shudder and shook her head without hesitation. “No thank you! I’ll gladly have dinner with you, but no menzuri.” She expressed with a laugh, the hybrid relaxing the longer she was by Doesina’s side. She made it feel so natural to just relax and enjoy themselves. It was definitely not something she had expected from an Elaria, at least not from the stories she had heard about Aishans over the years. Not that Sini was complaining because it was truly an enjoyable experience and one that made her more fond of Doesina. “They probably taste awful and would break your teeth with those legs. I don’t think I could crack them open like those crabs that Rek brings back from Matori. Have you had something like those? You boil them in water and then add some butter or sauce after pulling out the meat from the shell. I love it.” She flushed lightly as she gushed before shaking her head at the compliment towards her cooking. “I tend to do a bit of cooking since it’s just me and my guardian, so I guess so. I’m happy you enjoy it…just no menzuri.” She added with another laugh, shuddering once more at the thought of those creepy and dangerous creatures.
“Oh really?” Sini asked innocently, trying to dodge the return compliment even as it made her face warm. “That sunlight is pretty effective with the open window.” She joked before nodding, her expression more somber at the warning. “Don’t worry. I’ve dealt with some rude merchants over the years and have a couple of merchant friends in Neued who work with traders. They’re fairly good at spreading the word without risking my own name. Though I guess that just means I should be learning about tossing knives sooner than later, right? Just in case.” She nodded, her expression bright as she tried to relieve Doesina’s concerns about her own safety. It was better if they stopped that merchant before others got sick. At least that was her opinion even if it could put her at risk.

Doesina 9 Doesina giggled around the spoon, the corners of her mouth turning up to reveal her teeth. But as quick as it started, just as quick was it gone. She tried to cover it up by spooning more food into her mouth, pretending to be focusing on it. She did fully intend on lingering. She would even go out of her way to find a nice spot close enough to suggest to Heike to camp there until they were ready to leave, her herself staying there to better claim the area for them. Her cousin couldn't argue with another spot if Doesina had already set up a temporary spot for them. Hopefully. But the truth was, it was temporary. Though she barely knew Sini, she felt as if she'd known her for longer. She was an interesting person, clearly just as brave and bold as a Sister. Who else would have approached an Elaria like she did, going so far as to initiate flirting with one? Doesina wanted to remain and learn more about this woman. Unfortunately, she didn't know how long she'd have to do that.
"Sure. I'd be more than happy to teach you. It's the least I can do for you giving me your bed and some warm food. Not that I'd need the excuse to be in your company," she added, not wanting it to seem as if it was just an owed favor. She would have taught the hybrid regardless and would have enoyed every single moment of it, she was sure. If every moment was to be like this. Doesina couldn't remember the last time she'd had such fun with another person. "Promise. I will not bring you a Menzuri," she chuckled, putting one hand over her heart. "No, I have never had crab? Can we get them here at the market? I would love to watch you at work." Just her and her guardian? That seemed rather lonely, out in the forest as she was. Back home, it was just Doesina and her mother, but they lived in the second Elaria town. She could always hear the younglings playing from outside her window in the morning. She vowed to herself to spend as much time with Sini as possible, than. Not that she needed a reason to seek her out more.
The Elaria glanced at the window, a small smirk on her face. But she kept her mouth shut this time. She found Sini absolutely adorable in her modesty and playfulness.
"I will make you a force to be reckoned with, Sini," she chuckled, finally picking up the bread and breaking off a piece to start cleaning out the bowl. "Daggers one day. Spears the next.

Well, hopefully that was a good reaction and not something caused from disdain at her recommendation! Sini felt her heart skip a beat at the quick giggling before Doesina agreed to teach her. The agreement made her expression brighten once more, the hybrid leaning forward with excitement. “Really? Thank you!” She gushed before the rest clicked and she felt her cheeks warm a bit more. She really was not going to be allowed inside with Doesina like this often or she would melt away at this rate! Maybe it would be better to even open the door? There had to be a good breeze out there to help cool her cheeks….though they were in the jungle so all Sini could hope for was a good rainstorm to try and bring something of a chill back to the air. “Well, I don’t mind helping you out any time. But it would be better if you try not to get sick often.” She managed after a moment, her lips curling up more at the promise over the menzuri as it was impossible to not be amused by such a display. “If you stick to that promise then I’ll promise to cook you crab one day. Nothing dangerous and creepy, just some delicious crab legs. Some merchants bring them here on rare occasions but it’s a lot easier to find them along the coastal cities.” Maybe there could be some at the port if she ever went that way again? If Doesina was going back to Yael then they would have to take a ship so there should be a bunch of merchants there with some selling seafood, right? But that would mean that she would have to at least accompany Doesina to the port…the very thought making her pause. Would that be too much if she tagged along like that? It was honestly very tempting to ask, but for now Sini focused on the next task at hand…daggers.
“Woah. I would probably tumble over a spear and end up hurting myself.” She joked back with a light laugh. “So let’s not focus on making me a killer just yet. I think the biggest thing is for you to feel better and then see how I handle daggers. If I don’t end up somehow making a big fool of myself then we’ll see about other weapons.” Sini promised with a playful grin. “Though I think daggers would be enough for me, lugging a spear around seems like a hassle. I’m not certain how you warriors carry all of those weapons around. I like my ribbons because they’re light and easy to work with so I was hoping daggers wouldn’t be too bad. Maybe I could have sheaths around my arms or legs or something like I’ve seen others do.” A light and simple sheath for throwing daggers, nothing too bulky was much more appealing to Sini as she seriously considered the offer despite its playful intent.

Doesina 10 The hand holding a chunk of bread stopped midway to her mouth, the Elaria grinning broadly at the excitement on the hybrid's face. She hadn't expected such a reaction to dagger training. Whereas she did feel it was a useful skill everyone should know, it wasn't something a lot of Earthlings did seem to pick up. Than again, Sini wasn't just an Earthling, was she? She had Aishan blood, just the same as she herself did. Didn't matter that it wasn't as pure as her own. Maybe some part of her was still locked away, awaiting the chance to show off her Aishan roots. The idea brought a smile to the corners of her mouth even as she was stuffing the piece of bread into her mouth, chewing, and swallowing before continuing her side of the conversation.
"Mm, but I kind of like having your attention," Doesina teased back, crinkling her eyes in a smile at the same time she was giving the other woman a sly look. "What would you do if I purposely did?" Not that she would, of course. As much as it wasn't a lie that it was, indeed, tempting to make herself sick not on accident, just to have a real excuse to be in Sini's presence, she was not that naive to ignore the dangers of it. What if she did something that really hurt her, as opposed to the lack of sleep and empty stomach she had endured this time? "Hopefully we can find some, than! Though I gues you'd have a better chance at it than an Elaria. Everyone might run screaming back to the ship." She laughed at the image, as much as it did hurt her to be so feared. Not that she didn't understand it. It would take a very, very long time for the image of an Elaria, or any Aishan, to change. So long, she doubted anyone currently alive would ever see it happen.
"Don't sell yourself short. You don't know that. Maybe you'd make a fantastic warrior, if you gave yourself the chance." And Doesina meant it. Why shouldn't Sini one day be good with a spear or daggers or anything she put her mind to? She certainly had to have the balance and agility already, if she was a dancer. Not that Doesina knew for how long she had been practicing that. It could be just this year or it could have been since she was a child, like how an Aishan was trained at a young age. That was the best part about being an Earthling, the option of choice. "Not that I'd be the best spear teacher, anyway. My grandmother never gave me flying colors. I like the bow." What would Mayella say about Heike's skills, however? The Elidae trained day and night to be the best with her spear and the efforts were surely showing more and more in the hardening of her body into tight muscles. While Doesina's still remained a bit soft. She shrugged at the thought. It didn't really matter when she didn't even enjoy it. "Practice from a young age helps, I guess. It's not like we're taught to do other things like an Earthling can, to focus on a hobby as a trade. I'd love to watch what you do with ribbons, if you're willing," she added, scooping up the last of the porridge with the last of the bread, than leaving everything empty on her lap, hands on the bed beside her thighs. She couldn't resist smacking her lips a little. "That made me feel better. Thank you."

“Is that so? But surely it’s not that fun being sick.” She protested again with a shake of her head. “I would have to chastise you then! I’ll give you attention if you just ask, you don’t have to get sick for it.” The acknowledgement was enough to make her own cheeks warm again. But it was true! She would much rather spend a day having fun with Doesina instead of worrying over her like this. So far the Elaria had done nothing to scare her away and had only ever been nice towards the hybrid who had expected most Aishans to shun her for that mixed heritage and choice to stick with the earthlings. Doesina was also very energetic like her and fun to be around in general, how could she not want to meet up with her again? And there was that laughter again that Sini couldn’t help grinning at the sound of. It was contagious! “You think so? Maybe you actually should be the one to ask so that I can go and scoop up a load of crab while they’re panicking for their lives and leaving everything behind.” She joked with a laugh leaving her own lips at the image their proposed situation created. Though there was a pause, her gaze dropping even after they laughed at the idea. Others truly did still find the Elaria scary…but Doesina had proven that she was far from that image of a monstrous warrior harming any earthlings in her way. So weren’t there others who could be more open and less threatening? Maybe one day there could be a true peace and understanding between the different races, if more kind Elaria stepped forward. Not that it bothered her since she never expected to be involved in such things. She was just happy knowing Doesina like this, one kind Elaria was better than none!
“Well, I don’t think I necessarily want to become a warrior.” Replied Sini with a small smile. “I do appreciate the vote of confidence but I much prefer performing to fighting.” She hoped there would be no need for fighting anyways! No more wars thank you. She had heard stories, heard about how many families were hurt back during the Extremist uprising, and could only hope that the most dangerous thing to enter this area ever again was some wild radaku running amok in the jungle. “Is that so? The bow is always nice.” She had seen some displays from archers at festivals and it was always amazing to see how they could hone in on a target from so far away. Though Sini was focused on knives maybe that could be a future request, if time and her own growing skills allowed. “We do tend to have a lot of diverse skills. Not that I’m saying Aishans don’t!” She added quickly with a slight flush. “It just feels like earthlings are a bit more spread out in their occupations, there’s just so many countries and such with all sorts of things. Like me with ribbons. I’ll gladly give you a show when you’re feeling a bit better.” Which it seemed like Doesina was, the thought making Sini’s expression brighten once more at the appreciation as she gathered the wooden tray and now empty bowl to take back to the kitchen. “You’re welcome. You should just try to sleep a bit more and I’ll check in on you later.” Feeling better was still the most important thing, training and all other things could wait until Doesina was back on her feet again.
