The warmth of the beaming smile that shone down on Oban and Taleian could've boiled a teakettle. Coincidentally, it also displayed quite a lot of good strong teeth. "Yup! Y'think we're gonna sit this hunt out, love? Mama understood." To be fair, Einsol's clan wasn't so much normal as 'eccentric', as Viltre called 'em. Apparently meant 'weird but respectable', and respectable boiled down to 'old and/or powerful'. The rest of the nuance had been lost on the healer; she trusted that somebody knew how the details and process worked. Economic, political, secretive, violent, it didn't matter to her. Power was power was power.
The xaaran trotted over to these familiar faces, though it hung back a few paces from Xarthin. Slinging her leg over in one smooth motion, the bulky blue woman dropped off her bird and onto the earth boots first. The wolf child closed those couple steps in an instant. Without a moment to wait, she had arms around both of their advance hunters, pulling them close by the shoulders and planting kisses on lips, one after another. Rather more quietly, she asked the first thing on her mind: "Any word on 'Xi's thieves yet? Ushi's gettin' hungry for news of 'em."

"Ahh Ein, good to have you along as well." He said as he and Sae arrived abreast of the vangaurd. "I wouldn't have it any other way." There were few people he loved more in the world besides his family, as it aught to be. Ein was a part of him, just as the rest of his family was, but as his twin she understood him without needing pesky words.
He nodded respectfully to Einsol's mates, they were precious to him too, they made Ein happy and they were on the forfront with Viltre and Variel's special skills in getting his lost cubbin back. He was savagely ready.

She smiled warmly at the group and looked up the road expectantly. Obviously she was a bit distracted. She was so ready to have her lost daughter back that her teeth fairly hurt with the worry.
Her heart seemed to spread thin over the land, seeking and searching. A scrap of wind brought her a pinprick of noise and her eyes fairly started to glow like Einsols as she spun her mount around facing the direction. Her skin was tingling all over and she spurred her mount to immediate intense action so it reared.
The others would catch up she was on the scent!

Once Elaxi was up and settled on her hip she looked around again. Alizeh wasn't really looking for anything in particular but it was nice to know who and what was around. When she heard the girl say she should have paid more attention she looked back at the little earthling she held. "None of that." She bopped her on the nose lightly. "You were a tiny thing and did very well on staying safe. You didn't need to pay attention to the things around you at the time." She once again tried to reassure the girl. Where was her sister when she needed her?
"Come on, we can keep looking around while we wait for Luleta." She turned to walk down the street, ignoring the strange glances they got.

She wrapped her arms around Ali's neck at first, waiting until she was settled before loosening her grip to the girl's shoulders. Xi sniffled a bit and nodded her head as she was told that she'd done well enough. "Okay." When they started to move she leaned forward to lay her head on the Elarian's shoulder, her eyes looking out over the crowd.
Xi noticed the looks they got but didn't care. She knew it was strange that she was with an Aishan. Plus she was bigger than a youngling now but compared to Ali and Lu she was still small.

So much haste. Three'd all but sprinted to catch up to two. Had the lead been a little too much for them? The words of his blademaster came to mind. Don't rush. You have all the time in the world, even if all you need is a half second. Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast. The secondboy's mind raced through scenarios as Einsol embraced him, nixing several as inopportune now. How best to capitalize on this new situation?
The options winnowed their way down until only a an acceptable few remained, mostly adequate. More importantly, easily interchanged with one another. By the time she'd finished her kisses, there were sketches that could hold up as an outline for action. "No news as yet, love. I have to ask you all to slow down. A lead is not a solid trail. That takes confirming, investigation. I need time to find the right people, get the right answers. You've waited years now; a few days patience won't cost this opportunity." It was not a rebuke. It was a request, and both body and voice corroborated to that impression. He looked first to the nearer word, then her brother, and to Ushiwa's mate. ...Who already looked to be distracted. Lovely.
"Something interesting, Sae?"

Well at least they were a cohesive unit now. She eyed Sae's behaviour...she may have heard something? Many ears covered a better area and a mama was intuned to her kiddles.
She set her heels to Xar's sides and he followed Sae faithfully. He was such a good boy. She had some promising hatchlings out of a few females as part of his stud fee. She would work with them and see how they formed up. Hopefully they would reach the brilliance of their sire.
She had needed Xar for this mission in particular they had perfect synergy.
She stayed quiet not wanting to break Sae's concentration.

A merchant's son spoke spoke, and a tamer's daughter listened. The whole speech took a few moments to process, needing to polish and translate into concepts she understood. What she got out of it went something like so: This is not the chase. This is tracking, feeling out the trail to their den. If you keep crashing around the brush they'll scatter. Hurry up and wait. As she'd done what seemed best, the healer offered no apology nor contrition, but she did kiss her clever redhead again for good measure. "I get it. We won't scare the prey off, promise." As Variel kipped up to great black lizard, she patted mount and rider on the thigh and side, respectively.
The grin of one twin found answer in the other's. Einsol's toothy smile turned back over one shoulder, catching Ushi's eye as in her own. "Hope not. Gotta keep you in one piece. Even vermin can bite." She'd already sewn and seared his mate back together. As present company showed, there weren't many up to keeping him on track. Sae included, it seemed, for interests of her own. With their Oban packmate heading the smith's way, Einsol's yellow gaze turned that way as well...

Ushi was glued to his mate's side, he trusted her instincts, no matter what. He was glad to see her so animated and it felt like lightning flowed through his veins too. If he had the chance the people who tortured his love and his precious daughter would die a slow and torturous death.
Not to be maudlin but somethings just had to be done.
"Sae....." He whispered, as one with her on alert. He couldn't hear what she heard but he believed her.

She surged forward...only to come up empty against a stone wall. "An echo...I swear I heard her Ushi..." She was saddened slightly to say that she was all but ignoring everyone but her mate. Her snaptrotter mount tossed his head impatiently. He was the one that had brought her home that day...he had never left...it may have been theivery but no one had come to claim him, she would have left him to them but she was quite attached by now. He protected her since that day from everyone but Ushi..seeming he knew his place under the stern gaze of the beasttamer who tolerated no nonsense.
