Ushi 8 " Isn't that the answer to everything effort?" Luck and hard work sounded like regular issue adult advice. The man was successful in his position and he took that to heart. He meant well that was likely what the cup said he he didn't think that Theriar would lie to him. He must care about his family. Otherwise why try to help out a family that was not his own? Seemed like fair folk anyway. "I'll be okay old man."

Theriar 9 Deciding that he had done his part. The boy knew well what he faced very well. Then on to the other matters. The pair chatted amiably about goings on for a good 20 minutes. Theriar found he enjoyed chats with young people. They often had fresh ideas, adults worried mostly about the same things. And those worries tended to emerge sometimes when one was under stress. He liked listening to other stories at least while at sea. They were on the ship so that counted.

Ushiruin 9 It was fun for him to to talk to someone that he wasn't actually related to. He had a lot of family around, they seem to creep out of the sea and colonize the land like snaptrotters. Just hordes and hordes of ice water folk. If they shared anything it was good looks. Not everyone was blindingly smart, but you couldn't call anyone in particular a dullard. Their skills all complemented each other and together they were a force of nature.

Theriar 10 "Well along with ya, unless you want to start now, I would head off and enjoy your childhood. I have to finish the boat before your sister comes back. We'll be starting some longer excursions soon make sure she brings something for when she gets bored." There he had said his piece. He had been social and responsible and all that, it would have to do. There was work to be done.

Ushiruin 10 It had been a pleasant if mildly odd time, but those were the types of people that could cheer you. So that checked out. Theriar was an old friend of his grandparents, man was older than dirt. He felt that the old one ought to have a few legendary outgrowths on those feelers of his. He thanked Theriar for his time. And then hightailed back up the beach for his parents place.
