"I know its hard when they are young, all the yelling and drama but then they become your best friend, hopefully." That and the whole family had been excited and it was hard not to get caught up in the anticipation. "Then follows hours upon hours of crying and I remember why I prefer them when they are 8." He scanned the surface of the walls, careful not to touch anything. "I think I found a carving, can you make it out?"

"Yeah let me see!" Liylasa brightened up, wandering over to him to take a peek. The carving was faded, but to her it looked like a sort of marking to make note of their location. That or it was much older work that meant something else. She tried not to touch it too much for fear she may ruin it and instead looked around above her. "Well.....maybe we should go further in? Try and make out more carvings to see if it's directing us anywhere?" She suggested, touching his arm. "Unless my assistant is worried about going in any farther?"

"I don't see the problem so long as we go carefully." He had a wild adventurer in his heart too but he would hate to see anything happen to his "boss". He grinned at her and offered his arm. "Adventure is out there!" He cheered. He kept his eyes peeled for more carvings and paintings but it was made harder due to the lack of light in the dank little cave. It was certainly fun though. It was so cool to have a friend like her! He would never ever be bored and that was something to celebrate.

Liylasa nodded, feeling along the wall and directing them deeper in. The light grew dimmer as they wandered, and she worried they would go too far into the dark. "No good adventurer goes anywhere without some flint and a lantern," Liylasa nods, starting a small fire within the container. She beckoned Tethys to follow after her, winding her way towards the back of of the cavern and into a more open chamber. "Something must be hidden here!"

He was both exhilarated and oddly cozy there in the dark with her for company, excited too at the prospects of proper treasure but the adventure had certainly been fun. He was never bored around her and that was awesome. He followed her closely partly for their safety and partly because he wanted to be right there in the action in case anything cool happened. "This is so exciting!" He hissed happily to her, for some reason feeling like he had to be quiet.

Liylasa nodded her agreement, holding the lantern up to see the far edges of the large chamber. If the rumors were true, there had to be something hidden! She wandered over to edges of the area, grabbing Tethys to drag along behind her as they went. The air was cooler this far back and made her shiver a bit, but the adrenaline kept her going. "Start looking for weird spots on the ground. That should help out!"

He examined the floor and anything that looked out of place. "There must be water and some degree of light here sometimes, there is a green and living thing growing here, might mean fresh air up ahead too." "There is a figure here too that sort of looks out of place, like he was placed here as an afterthought, some sort of deity statue maybe?" He didn't touch it just in case. "Odd place, its so cool in here!"

Liylasa pulled her notebook out to take notes on what Tethys was saying, sketching out a picture of the statue he had pointed out to her. There were so many interesting things and she was glad that her lead had brought them to this. Wandering over to the statue, Liylasa walked a full circle around it before deciding on what to do. "I'm going to put it back into place and see what happens. Might be good to step back," she warned, grabbing hold of the statue and slowly scooting it back into place. A soft click sounded out as the statue rested on a small indent and with it the ground rumbled up beneath them. "Hm. Maybe I shouldn't have touched it," she added a bit too late as a section of the cave broke apart.

"You never know maybe it leads to somewhere else and that was the only way to get in." Tethys stood back from the rocks and placed himself between Liylasa and the danger as best as he could so that any flying rocks would hit him and not her. When the dust settled a somewhat rounded opening with rough edges was left. "Let the air flow first before we go in, just in case its stale, I hear its not good that way."

Liylasa coughed a bit as she attempted to wave away more dust, forcing herself to be patient like Tethys suggested. She had a rope for these sorts of things and she was certain she could tie it off to something for them to go down. Even from this angle above she could see something down below. "Let's gooooo," she urged, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she tugged out a rope and tied it around a particularly large stalagmite.

He grinned, she was just as bad as his older brothers, except she smiled a lot more than Ushi did. He adored it. He looped his own rope around another large rock. "Ladies first!" He cheered. Then set off down the cliff. He was having the very best time, he never wanted to go home! This beat the hell out of chores! He slipped a few times and was a bit sweaty but he made it down. He breathed a bit easier at the bottom. It had been such a good thrill!

Liylasa clambered down the side of the cliff fairly easily, her practiced moves allowing her to climb fairly easily despite her smaller frame. She zoomed past Tethys as she climbed, laughing as she beat him to the bottom. Arriving at the bottom she looked around, quickly taking in the small chamber as she waited for Tethys to arrive. "Woooow it's a lot bigger down here than I thought it would be," she said quickly as Tethys landed beside her. "I wasn't expecting that!"

"By the seas, me either!" He had arrived a few minutes after her, she was like a sailscale scurrying down the cliff, he was real impressed. Then to come upon the sight of the magnificent cavern before them. "Look at the color and striation in the rock, I wonder if magic or nature did that." It was like banded rainbow stone with many colors. "The cave itself has been hand carved to be deeper, that would have taken a long time, something you would do for valuable treasure perhaps?" He grinned enthusiastically.

Liylasa nodded and eagerly wandered deeper into the cave, hands running over the sides as she muttered to herself. "I think.....maybe you're right! This feels carved. That would have taken a big crew. Maybe a long time? But it's definitely carved out. We're getting close I can feel it," she laughed, spinning around with her arms outstretched. She rushed in further still, laughter echoing off the cave walls. "This is really great!"

"Rush slower! What if there are more traps or worse ones?" People were opposed to others stealing their treasures after all, home was booby trapped with beasts in certain paddocks that rimmed important areas of the ranch it was like natural pest control. When someone got in who wasn't supposed to they were treed high and learned their lesson about sneaking. Partly it was because they were a safe harbour for many who had no where else to go and were adopted, often they had people looking for them and were kept quite safe..soon though they would have to expand the living quarters.
