Shedir listened to the haunting screams coming from inside. It was like all the fears she had been afraid of were coming true. Her parents were suffering and she couldn't do a thing.

Where were all the police, fire trucks, and ambulances? she thought in her head trying to wipe the tears from her eyes. They should have been here by now!

That was when she heard her kitty, speak...? Wait a minute her kitty didn't talk...

Noticing that one thing was all it took to shake her. She quickly looked at the scene and took a deep breath. "It's not real. It's not real," she said to herself quickly with her eyes closed.

Then when she opened them, her eyes looked like the flames were rising in them. She was so furious that someone would use her family like this, and make her live through something like this. She was going to make them pay, but first things first. It was time to get that talking lookalike Bellalunae down.

"Don't worry I've got you!"
she said in the most worried voice she could as she also whispered quietly, "Mummy Wraps go for your target!"

Throwing her arms in the direction of the kitty in the window. She looked as if she was trying to save the imposter and hoped they wouldn't realize her true intentions. As her mummy bandages began to glow and then they began to extend toward the direction of the target.

If she got lucky maybe this kitty could shed some light on why they would do this to her. Since someone was going to pay and she was not going to let this darkness overtake her mind.

Kyuseisha no Hikari

Her attack:
Mummy Wraps.

She throws her arms out in front of her, and her mummy bandages begin to start glowing and then magical bandages extend from them. Then the magical bandages shoots out straight towards her enemies and bind her them in a mummified bond. This attack will last no more than 20 seconds. She can do this three times per battle. Distance travel possible is 8 ft.

Now this attack can be stopped:

the bandages will lose strength if they are attacked. Depending on how many attacks/how strong the attack. If no one attacks them then the bandages could last longer, but if they are attacked the bandages could lose strength or just begin falling off.

Meissa, Senshi of Bobcats

“...But then, I guess if you were strong, you would be ready for an upgrade. Instead, after all this time, you’re still just a basic Senshi. What’s wrong with you?”

Even if she had finalized her own hypothesis about this entire situation, these words from whom she'd been mentored by brought her up short. It didn't matter that Itsuki had only been able to mentor her for such a small period of time. He'd seen and awaken her potential in the fight against evil. He'd been by her side but yet she couldn't bring herself to stand by his side. Even as she struggled to find words to match the hurtful comment that had just been hurled, maybe intentionally - and maybe unintentionally, left the senshi of bobcats shaking with an emotion that was a mix of anger and insecurity.

"I guess you would know best about that, except you weren't there to know what I went through. You abandoned me Itsuki. If anyone's to blame about me being a basic senshi still, it's you."

Eyeing the shadows that scattered from before Meissa cast about for something that she could use against them before her gaze settled on Itsuki. Her eyes widened for all of a few seconds as she contemplated loosing her magic. Would it allow her to open her mind to answers that she still was not all certain about?

"Hey Itsuki, do you remember this," and without preamble Meissa shouted her basic attack, roared it out. "MEISSA'S SILENT STALKER!"

Quote:
Sailor Scout Attack: Meissa's Silent Stalker
Meissa will create the illusion of a bobcat that circles her chosen target for twenty seconds. During the duration of the illusion the target of the attack will feel like cornered prey being stalked by a predator. They could experience fear, anxiety and maybe even the need to flee. It takes attention away from Meissa and could maybe leave the target open to being attacked. It's a distraction technique at the most. The enemy has to be inside a nine foot radius for the feeling of prey to be most effective. If Meissa is struck during the duration of the attack the illusion will end abruptly.

Meissa can use this attack three times per battle.

not sure if fear is a good emotion to instil in a chaos manifestation. But she's trying it. Would be interesting if her magic fluctuated a bit here on Alastor but it's not at all necessary. (( was wondering what would happen if the illusion of the bobcat turned real but it doesn't need to happen.))

The air was thick with humidity, and electricity, and chaos. But, for a brief moment, there was something more.

Order. Magic. Something powerful. Something familiar, something good. A light in the darkness, Ganymede’s Purification magic surged from the Core of his world and the shadows, all connected, carried the blast throughout the Hall.

The shadowy illusions hummed, and for a split second, light shined through. It flickered along the illusion, like fire burning a thread. For a split second, there was a clarity that hadn’t been there before, an understanding–

There was a reason they were here.

They were supposed to do something. Destroy–something...

But the illusion was quick to restore, but it wasn’t quite perfect. The ground was a little uneven, the texture didn’t feel quite right, the sky looked oddly discolored, maybe there was something just a little off about your would-be savior–like looking in a mirror, or like they had a filter over them.

For a brief second, they weren’t as strong; they felt like shifting water, but they corrected themselves quickly.

Just, maybe not quick enough to avoid detection.

The surge of chaotic energy around them was smothering, and the haze of black, sulfuric smoke seemed to be filling the air quickly.

Shedir’s bandages stretched up to the building just as the scene warped. It turned dark and hazy, and the fires turned black–just for a split second. The screams stopped, replaced only by the sound of distant thunder and rain, and–there was rain, cool on her face, but–

It was gone in an instant. Bellalunae looked like a strange black blob and it might have been explained away as soot, but she moved like a disjointed doll.

“Help!” the kitten cried, with a voice that sounded more like her moths, and she tumbled right into the senshi’s arms with enough force that it felt like Shedir had been shoved.

Meissa struck at just the right moment; while the Chaos was distorting, while it was weakened, she struck Itsuki with full force. The Chaos was already susceptible to magic, and it didn’t seem to know how to differentiate between an illusion and the real thing. The moment she used her magic, the bobcat tore the shadow Itsuki into dust and smoke. The shadows recoiled with a shriek, but more than that the ground shifted beneath her. It felt like falling, but–then, suddenly, she was standing in the muddy garden. Water pooled around her, and the shadows tried to snap at her like tiny little whips.

She couldn’t see the others; the illusion was still strong around them, but she could feel them. And, maybe they could hear her if she screamed loud enough. Or, maybe she could get a head start finding that Chaos anomaly and try to weaken the shadows for them, too.

Quote:
Characters can use this opportunity to have a clarifying moment that allows them to break through the spell of Chaos! If you are playing your own chaos manifestation, it may turn into a mirrored reflection of itself, or may shift forms in front of you; if you have any questions or want to see if something works, please let me know! If you want to continue speaking to your Chaos character or engage it in more than one post, please let me know when you quote me and I will try to tag back as soon as possible instead of waiting for the next prompt! If your character has already broken out, they might be able to help others in their group but please make sure this works for them before posting! If your chaos manifestation is not destroyed by the post on the 16th (sometime after 8PM EST) the Chaos will be forcibly destroyed around you but you will have a prompt to find and destroy the chaos anomaly hidden in the fields; if you break through the illusion, you can start digging through the mud to try and reach it!

Meissa, Senshi of Bobcats

Sailor Meissa for a moment couldn't believe what her magic had done. Itsuki, or whatever that had been, had been torn to smithereens from the magic she had cast and although she now had proof that it hadn't been real ... her heart still ached for the gift of seeing 'him' once more. What surprised Meissa more was the sensation of falling that came over her before she found herself back in a familiar setting. Shaking free the cobwebs of confusion did the Bobcat senshi look around for the others. There was a sense that they were nearby but she couldn't see them.

What was it that Alastor had said before, 'chaos will take on the shape of someone dear' or something along those lines. Was it best to find the anomalous source of the chaos readings here in the garden or try and get those that she'd assigned with free from whatever was happening?

Not even sure if things were still going as planned did Meissa find her abandoned light from before and turned it on, directing the beam at the ground in an effort to keep the shadows at bay. It wasn't much but she placed the light onto the ground and then brought out a regular pen sized flashlight from her subspace pocket. It was kept there for when she stargazed. Using that tiny light as something that she could direct more easily did Meissa start sensing out where the anomaly was situated approximately before she got down on her hands and knees and started doing what a gardener loved to do: dig.

Something pure, something powerful surged through the area again.

At first, it was a wild blast of magic, strong and destructive.

The chaos in the air drew back significantly, like it was recoiling in pain. Stretched thin from the blast of Phantasia’s Court Magic at the West Gate, and battered already by Maia, Shangri-La, Shedir, and Meissa, its hold at the Garden was weakening. The illusions faltered; the walls between everyone came down.

The chaos manifestations evaporated.

But it wasn’t just that the Chaos was losing its foothold, it was that they were getting a second wind. A Royal Senshi’s signature flared, and then Ida’s Royal Magic spread in all directions and gave every Order ally a boost of strength. They weren’t completely revitalized, but it helped restore some of the energy they’d lost.

It helped focus them.

As the Chaos manifestations lost form, it became crystal clear–they still had something they needed to do.

With the shadowy walls down, they could all see each other again. A little worse for wear, but alive. Thin tendrils of shadowy darkness writhed anxiously but it looked like it was torn between trying to slide past them or retreating. The chaos anomaly they’d been tasked to find was there, right there, in the center of the garden. The ground was wet and had been worsened by the falling rain, but there was nothing left to obscure or defend it from them.

The wind roared around them, and the clouds were darker than ever. The world around them was dim, and all of their lighting seemed to have lost much of its potency. The flames were nearly burned out, and the lights were flickering badly. The rain was coming down in sheets, as if there was still hope to wash Alastor’s allies away.

Meissa had already destroyed her chaos manifestation, and she was closest to the now-exposed anomaly. It seems to tremble, but even as it tries to hide itself again, she has the opportunity to strike it before the chaos can recover.

Shedir’s illusion disappeared in a giant plume of smoke; the heat slammed into her as it faded, but the lies were gone. She could see Meissa near the chaos anomaly, and if the group worked together, they could probably destroy it easily and defend the garden before chaos can strike again.

Quote:
The chaos manifestations have been destroyed; if you are playing your own you can write out how you want them to disappear or assume they exploded in a burst of black shadows. A heavy residual chaos is in the area, and the chaos anomaly is in plain sight. It’s a baseball sized black gem with shadowy smoke billowing off it; it cannot escape, it cannot attack, and it cannot defend itself. They can destroy it now and strike a vital blow to the chaos. A Court Attack has been unleashed on the battlefield and done heavy damage to a wave of shadows trying to breach the wall, and Ida’s Royal magic has given everyone an energy boost; due to the fluctuations of magic in the air, it can physically restore a character or restore some previously used magic. The closing prompt will be some time after 8PM EST on the 18th and will lead to an optional closing ORP!

Shedir had gotten blown back a little hard as the force of the fake kitten had hit her. The voice sounded like bugs and the shove was done with such force she had been dazed for a bit. As she shook herself off and stood back up she noticed the illusion disappear before her in smoke.

She could feel the heat from the smoke as it hit her body, it was hotter than she would've expected. Luckily though the lies and the screaming pain, she had heard from what she thought was her family. We're gone. That was a sigh of relief for her. Since even if it was fake, it still hurt as if it were really happening. It made her question if being who she was could hurt her family one day, but then she quickly shook her head and looked around.

She looked around and noticed Melissa near the chaos anomaly. "Hey, Meissa! Are you okay?" she said. Rushing closer toward Melissa prepared to help in any way she could. Since she was not about to let the chaos strike again if she could help and they had to help protect the garden!

Meissa, Senshi of Bobcats

It seemded that by her digging she had uncovered the anomaly that they were searching for. Meissa sat back in a crouch before staring at the small inky ball of chaos before trying to figure out just how it was that she could destroy it. Her magic wasn't meant for destroying things but more for helping people get a chance to make a move while the enemy was distracted. Hearing her name being shouted did Meissa spin around to face Shedir as the chibi senshi ran over to her. Nodding very quickly in response did Meissa stand up to stare down at the thing they'd been sent to destroy.

Her gaze took in the horizon as the rain still pelted down before she spotted a good size rock just begging to be picked up. "Shedir, I'm not sure if this will work or not but I plan on smashing it to smithereens."

As she scanned the area once more she noted the other two members of their party and attempted to call them over. "Maia, Shangri-La ... over here."

Walking over the the rock that she had spotted Meissa hefted the object in her hand before closing the distance to the anomaly. Surely the rock would act just as well as some magical attack would but at least this would be a final blow.. "Not sure what's going to happen when this thing is destroyed but be on standby everyone," and with that Meissa sank to the ground and began hammering at the anomaly like a carpenter would repeatedly strike a nail with a hammer. Please just break and not do anything else, ... or at least spare those around me from being hurt even more.

Meissa’s determination to destroy the stone succeeded–between one hit and the next, it cracked, and then the next hit shattered it. If she had help from the others, they managed to weaken it enough that the group successfully contained their chaos and stopped it from spreading. Dark smoke erupted from it, but it was short lived and the stone seemed to implode in on itself. The ground rumbled around them, like a small earthquake, but it did no damage–and then, it stopped.

For a split second, the chaos surged again. It was overwhelming and felt like it might get a greater grip and recuperate, but whatever footing it almost had was lost. A shockwave rippled from multiple locations, simultaneously. Within seconds, or a moment at most, the chaos anomalies were destroyed. The heart of the chaos was destroyed.

The natural threats seemed to lessen, too. The winds carrying rocky debris in the clouds seemed to slow; though the debris hovered in the air, they were no longer projectiles. The gusts closer to the ground no longer stung. Thunder dulled and then diminished, and the lightning stopped almost immediately.

The rain fell harder, but only briefly. It was long enough to put out the fires sparked during the storm. The river was surging, but the current seemed more controlled, and already the water level was lowering.

And then, the rain turned to a trickle and then faded altogether. The monstrous clouds thinned, and then pockets of them began to clear, and then they faded, too. Alastor’s world had been covered in dark skies for centuries--and now, the sunrise. The sky was already lighting up with pinks and oranges, not unlike Earth, but the colors were so vibrant and pure.

There were no shadows to block it. Alastor was a fresh, renewed world, thanks to them.

The great oak in the courtyard by the Hall had nearly a thousand years to grow to its immense size, and its roots had buried themselves deep into the ground. They cradled the Core of the world, and it was the greatest beacon of their success.

The liquid gold light of the Core stretched up through the oak tree and gave it a magical glow and–more than that, little golden lights bobbed through the air around the Hall like fireflies. They ranged in size from marbles to golf balls, and coming into contact with them felt like passing through soothing, warm pockets of air. There were thousands, easily–like the world was celebrating their victory with them.

It was peaceful now, and the oppressive, hateful chaos that had been smothering them before was gone. Now, the only thing left to do was take a moment to catch their breath, and then meet up back at the Hall.

Quote:
This is the last prompt based post for the roleplay! If you would like to continue writing you can, but this can also count for the close. All characters should head back to the Hall; the following roleplay is completely optional and players don’t have to post but their characters can be handwaved as attending. If your character would rather teleport home or otherwise leave Alastor without attending, please let me know! Thank you!
