Xenoblade Chronicles
I've owned a few guilds back in the old days before adulting conquered my soul. I do have some suggestions however based on my experience and observations in the Gaiaverse:
1. Always appoint reliable staff. Make sure you vet them too. Is this someone you can trust? Will they actually be available to help out, recruit, or be active in threads to help keep the place alive while it grows? Do they have a short fuse or a tendency to rub people the wrong way? Is this a person who can represent your guild favorably?
2. The guild doesn't require membership to participate. All you need is one perverted troll to get bored one day, stumble upon this guild then flood it with spam which you then have to delete post by post. I'm making this post and I'm not even a member.
3. I think you should consider cleaning up the homepage and leave a select few topics like the introduction thread. Leave other discussions for the subforums and it keeps things looking less cluttered.
4. Contests can be a nice way to bring people in and get activity up. But then you run the risk of those who are only here for prizes. I found the best way to circumvent that is to make a post requirement for entry. For instance, if someone wants to participate in a contest, they need to have at least 10 posts in the guild (which can be checked on the members list).
5. Guilds are easily the most forgotten aspect of the Gaiaverse. The moment you log in, you're bombarded with daily chance, PMs, alerts, announcements, etc. There's so many distractions. When new members join, consider sending a welcome PM where you introduce yourself as the owner or member of the crew and are available to answer any questions they may have. Perhaps link them to the rules thread for a quick look over and the introduction thread as a good place to start and so on. Guild announcements can be a good tool too to keep people aware of changes and new things going on but can often go ignored. Perhaps consider social media like an Instagram account for the guild or a Discord chat group where announcements and events can be echoed in case people miss them on Gaia.
6. I think the rules thread could use a little tweaking.
I appreciate your serious feedback on my guild..*nods*
3nodding But I did this as to not take it serious and just wing it...Since first of all, did not thought I would have more than 20 people. I am amazed how many people actually accepted my invite..But since you took your time to reply it this deep..I will reply due to courtesy and because you are my friend.
1. Working in stressful environment in retail and fast food...Its hard to get the right person for a vice captain...Gaia has become not as active as before and people mostly here just post more in forums and honestly most guild are or getting dead...So I am testing the waters when it comes to vice captain role...Unfortunate one is an introvert and the other is a retired person that has more important guilds to run...So yes they are not the best but not the worst I have had..Also I do not wish to impose such a role to a friend because most friends here I have just are not as active or do not want the role...So I willing accepting anyone for now for it.
2. I had it private and then public and since you pointed out...I did it private again..But honestly if it had happened...Do not worry..I as a captain will handle those type of people...muahahahahaha...
3. I have had someone else too told me to organize better my forums...But unfortunately I can not modify or move post to subforum post..So I am sorry it be messy this guild..Just like my room..So deal with it or tell me in detail how to move some post to sub forums because what I can see and access as a guild captain it does not show such power...
4. I like your opinion but I honestly just happy whoever participates at this point because like I said GaiaOnline is not as active and most users are either teens that just post in forums or adults that just answer here and there but not committed as me to actually answer or reply to everything.. lol
5.I already did PMs to all except those I already know or already introduced themselfs.I was thinking of a discord but was shut down by one person that is my friend and most people did not voice in their opinion...Soo I will probably wont do it...Unless you want to take charge of such a task...About guild announcements I will for sure consider such thing. :3
6. I love simple, easy....So no!! I shall not change thy rules of my little oasis....
unless you can convinced me or become a 3rd vice captain to this guild to show love, passion and commitment to Anime++...
Overall I just want to have fun and chat with whomever loves anime or any of my many subforums I made. I know this will not last long...But it sure makes me smile reading and replying to posts and seeing people giving me their opinion though some are like a little..how can I say this...a bit hurtful..
rofl Anyways thank you again for joining and feel free to do whatever you want in here..this guild is for all...Also whatever you decide to do.. I am just glad we became friends.
